If you want to hear a Bison Bass played at it's best, listen to Kenny Brown of CONSORTIUM play on the albums "REBIRTH" and "13th hour" he has played a Burns Bison all his playing days and is one of the best players in the UK. You will love the albums, trust me.
I had one of the very first Burns to be cobbled together - it looked and sounded crap though I think they improved over the years - but aren't they ugly things!
"The Satellites" from Sleaford, Lincs (1959-64)had 3 Burns Bison Guitars played by Mac McMannus(lead) Jimmy Law (bass) & Colin Ingamells (rythm) Colin found what was thought to be one of the original ones owned within the group (on ebay) & bought it. The group used Burns guitars prior to the Bison, had 3 singers at one time, Frank Graves, Adrian Govier, & Sue Camm, plus drums played by "Badge" Harding & Piano & Univox played by Johnny Haywood. They played the Two "I"s in in their early days
Thanks for your comment, There's quite a big difference between the two. The Burns is very heavy, but has a nice slim neck. The pickup switching is nothing like a Strat, you can split the bass and treble pickups and there are settings called 'Wild Dog!' which gives it a very aggressive sound.
I Bought a Bison and a Vox Phantom from a store on charing x rd over 30 years ago, still got them

A friend of mine had one of those Bison's in the 70's.. when he realised he would never master the guitar he smashed it.
I still have nightmares to this day!

BTCharlie Burns guitars are one of those that I only have read about.
Is there any way you can do an online review? Where you show the interesting parts and give sound demos on each pickip setting?

Such a cool looknig and sounding guitar!
Does sound fairly stratty, what are the differences you notice soundwise?

The trem is just amazing once setup properly.
