Why is it that every tv show or movie always shows some kind of lame Karate when referring to Ninjutsu, like the guy practicing some kind of lame kick in the doorway?
Shino. You say they are fake until you train with them and feel the pain and suffering we go through to better our selfs in life and battle. You never truly grasp it until your at camp training and the Shadows Begin to move and before you know it your laying on your back looking up at the sky trying to figure out what just happened. We who train the art are very misunderstood. We aren't cut throat unless needed be. Only those in futile japan and a Few Masters are Still that way. But believe wha
this ninjas are fake ... real shinobis lived in Koga and Iga clans in Central Japan , they lived in hidden forests that no one can reach...they were so skilled .....
uh, and if they were so skilled...so hidden... how do you know anything about them?
unfortunately you seem to be taking some liberties with history, there is no restriction that forced shinobi to live in iga and KOKA ( you spelled it wrong, more evidence you read the wrong books).
and the dominant feature of the region is MOUNTAINS not forests... get your facts straightened out.
@OriginalScourge untrue, it's actually a K that is mispronounced as a g by english speakers pretty often, also the 'Ko' is really pronounced "Ko-u", so most properly it would be Kouka Ryu
@shinobiue95 You are correct, it is Koga. Koka is Koka-shi which is a city. However, there is no plural in Japanese so it is incorrect to say ninjas or shinobis. It is just Ninja or shinobi even if plural. While there is no restriction most of the ryu originated in those two provinces but they did disband to various parts of Japan after Iga no Ran. While those regiona are very mountainous they are also covered by dense forest even today. look up pictures of Mount Takao-san.
Ninja wore navy blue.. Dyed it partialy red.. This was unseen in darkness.. and when cut.. did not show blood cause it was already partly red... This gave them the illusion of invisible and uncuttable. :) They were very good at what they did lol
From what I´ve seen you could complement it with a striking (mainly) method. Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do is a good option- Ted Wong´s line (Tommy Carruthers is his student watch him), that´s what I am using to complement Bujinkan.
@germanberserk Stick to Mr. Hayes and work hard at what he teaches you. After many years when you have developed some insight then start to look at other options. You need to develop a personal relationship with your instructor. Once he trusts you he will then begin to teach you the real art and not what they teach the general public.
Yea. Pretty sure they were normal farmers who were ninja at night. Hence half their weapons are farmer's tools. But, Buddhist might play their role in this w/ the development of the actual fighting of ninjutsu. Ronin(masterlelss samurai) and greedy warlords yielded ninja.
ninjutsu was created by men from china on the run from the ruling dynsty in china they exscaped to japan mountain region where they taught farmers how to defend there land from japans ruler at the time
@riozulu Not exactly. The Chinese monks taught Buddhist concepts to defeated Japanese warrior who were aligned with loosing armies and who were also escaping persecution. The monks teachings gave them different insights and so they developed a combat sytem based on those insights that was designed to beat a stronger more equiped army that was fully funded by the government. They didn't teach them warfare as that was developed over a long time.
3-Kenpo/Ninja Ken: fencing saber, including the ninjato or shinobigatana.
4-Bojutsu: technologies(skills) of fight with the canes of diverse sizes.
5-Shuriken Jutsu: launch(throwing) and employment of sharp(long) sheets of metal. 6-Kusarigama: Japanese sickle with chain and counterweight in the end.
you should read the books of Seiko Fujita, a REAL ninja... he was authenticated by the Koryu board of japan, and while he never passed on his skills, he did write a fair bit about the subject.
check it out... and for god sake dont watch that Choson ninja FRAUD...
i dont know how people cant see the lies that guy uses to back up his Bullshido.
@Creationsofmyown People can't see the lies because if you ever comment on his videos, even if being polite but disagreeing with him he blocks you. He is a pussy who doesn't know crap about what he is talking about.
I train in Ninpo, and it has won me many fights. If you want to, find a good Bujinkan, Jinenkan, or Genbukan school. Be sure to find a good Dojo. Good Bujinkan dojos in the USA are, well, hard to find. Try to find one that teaches at least a few weapons, Shinobi-Iri (stealth), and of course, Taijutsu, the art of using the body as the only weapon. If you are in Kansas, USA, you are lucky enough to train with the best in the world, the International Budo Ryu Ninjutsu Dojo. Look at their vidoes.
i train in britain and i agree with you, theres alot of bad teachers and students and thats also reflected on youtube by alot of videos, i believe i am training with good people, but i have had alot of luck and motivation to train with the right people. :D
There are no tournaments. Ninpo/Ninjutsu is not a competitive sport, and does do such thing. They do have TaiKai, but there is no "competition." A TaiKai means "large gathering," and it is basically an event for a large number of practioners to come together and train.
So wrong it can be if when all the details are wrong but the big picturesis correct - as always when they take up the matter of "ninja".

this is utter nonsense.
takamatsu must be spinning in his grave....
this is NOT how this art should be taught... by takamatsu's own words.
and seriously, it never was ninjutsu...
by figuring it out, and elevating yourself to a true understanding of the dynamic was how hatsumi was chosen to be his successor.
why else did he only mention toda/togakure AFTER leavin kuki?
