Gentleman Jim Reeves recorded Welcome To My World In the spring of 1964? Just a few months before his untimely death In a Air Plane crash near Nashville Tennesse on July 31st 1964! This song and He'll have to go are my all time Jim Reeves classics!!
The song Welcome to my world, is so wonderful. I like it as a love song, but also as a spiritual song, with the Lords welcome arms(seen in the video). My videoanswer: Across the bridge is a hopeful JR song about the other side. Bless
This was my moms favorite, mine too, she is gone none, and i haven´t been nice ti visit her, cause, of me, i played this now, cause i think of mom now....
My high school shop teacher used to play this when we worked on cars (was in his class back in 1997 or so). He turned us on to a lot of good old tunes.
He truly was a great man. Admired all over the wordl. Could sing in different language, and did a pretty good job with "AFRIKAANS" In South Africa, they thought of him as "KING" He was a great person, and was a great loss.
this is my great cousin on my father's side and its true musical talent dose pass on threw family members i also can sing like him but i never met him he died befor i could meet him i 13 now and singing harmony
The greatest of Gentleman Jim's songs. This is my favorite song and it is not played enough. I think of my lovely wife, Janet, whenever I hear this beautiful song.
Thank goodness AMC show " Mad Men" closes each episode with a classic song from the 1960's. This song was was featured in the fourth season. Other classic country artists such as Skeeter Davis " End of the World" and George Jones' "Cup of Loneliness" have been featured too.
I'm a nurse and I recently took care of a 92 year old woman, who was as sweet as the day is long. She was telling me about her late husband, and how he played this song every morning. She hadn't heard it in several decades because she "lost the record" after he passed in 1974. I immediately searched for the song on my phone and your video popped up. As the song began playing her eyes welled up with tears. It brought back so many memories and she was so thankful to hear it once again. Thanks!
I do not know if I commented on this before but if I did I will say again what a lovely version with an eternal meaning you have put in the video. Jesus said I stand at the door and knock.
I'm 18, I don't know if it's weird that I'm listening to these songs when most of my generation is listening to Akon, Pitbull, Snoop dog and, all the random "artists"?
@ukpliskin this Was also sung at my grandpa's funeral. It is such an inspiring song. I could just picture my grandpa singing this to me, the part where he says he will be waiting with his arms unfurled just made me bawl.......

This was our first dance song!!! Llove it!!! Reminds me of my uncle who is the biggest Jim Reeves Fan on earth!!! In his honour we selected this song!!
@alancolwill1 i was wondering that to, if there this far in to the country part of YOU TUBE, why did they bother clicking on Gentlemen Jim, and then taking the time to comment , odd, unless there a troll
I am originally from Ghana on the west coast of Africa. We were brought up on Jim Reeve's songs too. My father used to play them very, very early in the morning between four and half five. I shed tears most of the time when I hear any of the songs being played. Tears are rolling down on my cheeks even as I am writing this comment, because these songs remind me of so many people I know who have departed from this earth.
As an old lady ;), which I'd be considered now by the "younger folks". I love this music, wish they made more like it nowadays. I really miss being able to listen to the words and understand them, plus having such nice melodies.
I really enjoy Jim Reeves. I recently got into this craze of finding vinyl and he is difficult to find out and about. However I have found I believe 4 records of him and wow he is magical, that's all I have to say. I am 30 and I was raised on country music but I seem to have more of an appreciation now that I am getting older.
Thank you for the time spent creating such a beautiful showcase of one of the most talented singers of our time. As his career progressed he only became better. Thank you again for this beautiful presentation as well as some of the others you have presented here.

@dagenhamdaveNo1 ... I agree. I'm 15 years old as of last month, and I have (and always will) love this Country Western music that truly tells storys of Life, Love, and Hardships... Glad to see that people are still posting real music, and for that I thank you, and ALL listeners for keeping this wonderfull musical tradition alive and well in our ''pop'' society that has, unfortunately, took hold of the younger generations around my age.
@dagenhamdaveNo1 hello . i just like to say what a lovely beautiful thnig to do for your daugther when i read this and listening to the song i had tears thats so nice bless always .
@dagenhamdaveNo1 Do you know what year he sang this? Or when it was written. I believe this is the song my dad sang to my mom at their wedding, 50 years ago this Sat., Aug. 20th. I would love to sing it for them at their celebration. :)
@sherbert500 Hah! his music is so amazing that i don't think anyone is too old or young to listen to it :) i'm glad my nan introduced me to his music. i used to love dancing to "billy bayou" when i was little ^_^
@jollofrulz hello dear ... i wanted to share with you to my dear mum use to song along with jim reeves to and when i listen to jim songs i always thnik of my mum always makes me have tears . but always lovely to know young people listen to the oldies so thank you your words are lovely about your nan bless
@jollofrulz You will always remember the music of your early years. It is part of you. You'll hear it hundreds of times but you will never feel tired of it. Your nan listened great music.
I truly love listening to Jim Reeves singing but I have to say I'm getting sick and tired of Dave saying God Bless to every single reply he gives. Please stop!
My dad loved Jim Reeves & I was brought up listening to him. My dad had Welcome to my world played at his funeral, thinking about the lyrics how this was so appropriate that God was saying to him Welcome to my world. God was welcoming my dad home to be with him.
My dad loved Jim Reeves & I was brought up listening to him. My dad had Welcome to my world played at his funeral, thinking about the lyrics how this was so appropriate that God was saying to him Welcome to my world. God was welcoming my dad home to be with him.
@sara251165 I was brought up listening to my dad playing his records too - I'm born the same year as you so must have been the experience of quite a few people our age. That's a lovely idea about God welcoming him home I wish we done something like that at my dad's funeral as this was one of his favourites. 1933-95 RIP.
a great classic song, but one of the smoothest voices in recorded history (literally)... and that has to be Floyd Cramer on piano, I know that sound anywhere!
My mother passed away last summer. The love of her life, Keith, died a few years earlier. They always played Jim Reeves at home. What a voice - someone said it's like liquid honey, poured through a velvet-lined funnel coated with syrup. Bliss!

Bliss!
