  • this is bad ass!

  • Who needs Valium when you can play an EWI like that?

  • Dude, that is nice .. Thanks for sharing ..

  • Nice work sir. Best wishes from UK :0)

  • Where are people getting all this "flute" stuff from? It doesn't sound like a flute, nor does it look like a flute. So many opinions based on ignorance.

  • Woooowww Kongratulation my friend is very very very powerful and live

  • Great work, tell me you have your music on something like Soundclick or Reverbnation. Thinking about getting an AKAI EWI USB in the next two weeks.

  • Haha, good idea with the candles :D

  • B R A V O ! ! ! GOOD!!!!

    GRAZIA, Italy

  • hey extreme prejudice go fuck yourself.

  • i play aucustic clarinet good job

  • that is your oponion a can play the same song whit the sax, soprano, or alto but this is for little fun. and cocert, usin like a trumpet. whit tis int. you can play many instruments.

  • Isn't that what they invented the keyboard for? Or can I just consider this a keyboard in flute-shape instead of piano-shape?

  • yeah but with an EWI you can do breath phrasing and vibrato and it's cooler to watch someone play one than a keyboard

  • By that logic, you could say an electric guitar is just a guitar-shaped keyboard. You *could* make it sound like another instrument entirely with the right equipment and programs.

To wind instrument players, this is their equivalent of the electric guitar.

It's just that, aside from folk music and some kinds of metal, wind instruments aren't really widely used in mainstream european/north american music.

  • retard its not a flute shape its basically a clarinet but electric and it doesnt just play other instruments on sum u can record your voice and play it back on different pitches ... can ur keyboard do that. ?. ?.?

  • I don't play keyboard. If you want to know, I do electric guitar.

I just wonder if that flute works with acoustic sound, which is "edited" to make it sound different (like an electric guitar), or doesn't it have any acoustic sounds, so it just registers the amount of air you blow and the buttons you use, and them makes a sound which would sound like the chosen instrument (like a keyboard).

  • ITS NOT A FLUTE.

  • It could be a flute. You can edit the key layout to many popular wind intruiments, and Play flute souinds. But what it really is is and Ewi :P

  • From one guitarist to another, referring to what this instrument does as "like a keyboard" is pretty disingenuous to the history of synthesizers in general.

If the piano-style keyboard weren't already the most popular musical layout in the world, it's likely some other form of musical expression would be the norm for synths instead.

It's a shame that's not the case, since keyboards do not offer the range of articulation and expression a wind or string instrument does.

  • i have a keyboard and a padKontrol (drum pads), you can play the same sounds with each but the expression is different for each type of controller. Each type of device encourages you to play different things, different patterns, to think in a different way. I would think that the difference would be even more apparent when comparing a keyboard to a wind controller.

  • Yeah. If you can't play Piano, what use is an electric Keyboard? :P It's a chance for classical wind instrumentalists, like Flautists, to get a chance to play something they wouldn't, like rock music XD

  • What about Ian Anderson? Jethro Tull :P he's a Flautist haha

  • hey when your on a buget of like a 150 dollars and dont have ajob cause your only 16....yeah 700's a lot....and i think they stole my idea of an electric trumnpet, and me and my friend said the electric clarinet would be cool.....idk ttul

  • @Arcenicum ur not the only one, and i is our openion, u should play it on sax, acoustic is better! btw i play clarinet and this seems kinda funny, i prefer old skool instruments, if u want an electric instrument learn to play electric piano

  • @Arcenicum Most EWI's are actually very remarkable. They have the ability to mimic the sound of MANY instruments such as alto, tenor, bari and soprano sax, flute, clarinet, bassoon and even trumpet with staggering accuracy and can also create the electronic type of synthesizer sound. If you listen to Michael Brecker playing the EWI, I doubt you'll be disappointed.

  • @Arcenicum Yes you are ,are electric guitars better than acoustic ones ,are electronic organs better than acoustic ones ,is an electric piano better than a acoustic one .Not better, but different .And as you could have noticed on the right-hand side there are some( famous) musicians like Michael Brecker who bought it and used it . But you have probably never heard of him, but that is your problem .And yes you are the Moron you claim to be as you wrote on your homepage .

  • @Arcenicum go to the store and buy a bat and bash your brains out.

  • @Arcenicum Hey man.. Its not a flute - its a synthesizer. Dont compare it with the flute

  • @Arcenicum

There is nothing ridiculous about it. You must understand that music is beautiful, no matter how it is made.

While you laugh, this person spent the time making beautiful sounds. The problem with people like you is that you are not able to produce anything and criticizing others seems to be your specialty.

Go read about the incredible sounds from the EWI4000s and try opening your mind.

  • @ceo4cet

LOL. Telling me that "people like me" don't produce anything. I am a guitarist, guitar teacher and guitar builder. That's right, I build my own guitars in unconventional ways. I laugh at people who make these incredibly stupid generalizations and claim I am not able to produce anything and have a closed mind.

You are right by the way that criticizing others is a specialty of mine. More people should think critically.

Also, never reply on comments made 2 years ago.

  • How did you create the backing track for this tune?

  • the track is from logic pro studio software

  • do i so want one of these but they proablly cost and arm and a leg....and they stole my idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! plus i dont know how to set it up.

  • well the cost of this instrument is only 700.00 box, so is chip.

    a real sax. cost more.

  • do u play that like a flute as in fingerings? and by the way ur awesome ! the song was ver soothing.

  • you can splay this instrument in diferent seting,

  • Is that a preset patch?? Or are you using a sound module?

  • this instrument has a 100 diferent sound inside.

  • I spent a very good time hearing your song. Great job and best wishes for next. MARC (BELGIUM - NAMUR)

  • Very nice song. Well done.

But do you have to stare at the camera the whole time? It makes me kinda uncomfortable.

  • *** ROUND OF APPLAUSE ***

  • quite good playing.
