  • I worked on VOP in 1980. Did everything, deckhand, cook, even did the classical programme for a short time. Loved every minute of it.

  • i was also a dj in 1989. Ricky v, went on to be rico on radio caroline. vop was fun, sleeping with cockroaches, the things we did!!! my mate chris jumped off the ship for a swim and the filipino captain chased him round the deck with a knife!! memories....

  • I worked on the ship when it was docked in NY. I was there the day after the ship arrived in NY and met the Dutch crew as they left.I spent a day or two per wk on the ship for the next couple of yrs.I was an electronics student in HS and was told I would be outfitting the ship with a radio studio. It was months before I did anything electrical. First there was cleaning , scaping paintng, repairing. Always returning to Abie with, "What do you want me to do next". Contd next post.

  • I was a D.J. on the V.O.P. in the mid 80's. I was on the ship for over six months mostly doing the Midnight show. Good to see your video.
