  • It's not a Chrysler Imperial, it's an IMPERIAL. Period. They were 2 different marques. Would you say "There goes a GM Cadillac (or Ford Lincoln)"? Sheesh

  • @rogerstill71 The Chrysler Imperial of the 1930's and 1940's and early 1950's was actually the "top of the line" Chrysler, as opposed to the Royals and New Yorkers. It did not become it's own separate marque until 1955, when it became a completely separate car from the regular Chrysler. It lasted I think until 1975 or so and then was dropped from the Chrysler line-up.

  • @burkewhb Thank you. Don't forget the lamentable K-car Imperial ha.

  • @rogerstill71 Sheesh Roger, still a Chrysler! HA

  • @Unclemoparman Correction to my last comment. The Imperial became a separate marque from the

regular Chrysler in 1950, not 1955. From 1950 on the Imperial had its own grille and body styles, but usually

with the biggest Chrysler engine available, except for the 426 and 440's of the 1960's supercar era.

  • Ontario plate, huh? Owner of this baby probably drove it up there during prohibition to get booze.

  • @bondage2012 Hey it was the Bronfmans of Montreal (Seagram's) who kept you thirsty Yanks soused, making them billionaires. They were the first 'cartel.'
