Sadly, Cat5, I must agree. No argument there were talented musicians playing, but it lacked energy and interest. I was bored listening to it. Maybe Jeff Lynne will treat us one more time with more authentic-sounding ELO.

My dad's name is Mik Kaminski, but he's a surgeon from Illinois. Same generation, though.  Jeff Lynn is very, VERY important to me, inspitationally. I would give all I have to work for him, but I already gave all I have to work for HIS boss, so I got THAT goin for me.

Im not going to tell you exactly what he did but it involves suing the rest of the band and cutting them out of royalties despite them all having fairly pivotal roles in writing and recording.

They came with the Out Of The Blue spaceship and after the world tour of '78 Jeff failed to keep up the payments on the spaceship and so it was repossesed. Naturally the cellists were repossessed along with it. Nah, just kidding, Hugh McDowell is now a teacher and university lecturer and Melvyn Gale runs a CD factory.

Huge ELO fan, but that concert in 82 was sooooo bad (maybe an off-night?). Thought ELO 2 would suck but be fun to watch with, but they blew me away. And soundstage was just... bad. It was a Jeff Lynne show disguised as ELO. He's a good 80% of the ELO sound solo, but he's always been boring on stage and his sound was missing the old harmonies from Groucut.
