I don't know what "utopian Star Trek" means. I've never seen an episode of Star Trek. The IRS has known for years which women are making less than which men. Before emancipation was enacted was any judge trying to get African Americans freedom when the law said all men are created equal? I'm combing through text and can't find anything by anyone who was trying to stop slavery when it went directly against the constitution. Hence a health care plan that may never make it to a vote. Socialist failure is victory for moderate/conservative ideals that have prevailed in this country since the inception. Rasmussen national survey shows that 40% would vote for Republican congressional candidate while 37% would choose the Democrat.

Also, of course your experiences influence your judgement. It's not like you are born into this office and form your opinions on the bench. Being a democrat or republican already comes with a certain stigma that you will make certain choices, which is true for both sides.
