Tommy Kramer had no one to throw to this night- both sammy white and ahmad rashard could not play- both hurt. I had a chance to see "Johnny Winter" play at a local bar this night with my friends- but i stood home instead to see my vikings beat the cowboys- it was a great game!! Tommy Kramer was fukin remarkable this night. My friends still to this day make fun of me choosing a football game on tv rather to watch the great Johnny Winter live at a local bar in my home town. This was after a Greg Coleman punt pinning the Cowboys at the one yard line. Lots of celebrating went on. My only thought was "I hope the Vikings aren't so pumped that they over pursue the coming run by Dorsett" It was sad and exhilarating at the same time, the gave up a great run, but a great run was made by a great player. More sadness ensued when the replay counted only 10 men were on offense. I quit being a Vikings fan in 1983, never looked back, but always enjoy a good game/play.
I watched that game on Monday Night football against the Vikings. Minnesota had just scored and the Cowboys screwed up on the ensuing kick-off and got the ball inches from their own goal line. Momentum was in the Vikings favor until Dorsett exploded out of the backfield. He was among the fastest players in the NFL.
It still gets me everytime that whenever I see replays I say in my head "Shit players were slow as fuck back then" but I keep on having to remind myself that replays are slowed down a bit.
Still the longest TD run in NFL History. GO COWBOYS!
