Arafat got that chance in 2000 with Barak, but he outrightly refused to get the land back.  The fact is that if the demarcations go back to Pre-1967 borders, they will start arguing for 1948 borders, and if that happens, it will be for the destruction of Israel.

As I remember not a single bullet has been fired on Israel from Egypt since then. So Arabs, at least some of them, do respect their peace agreements.
