  • If I remember correctly the knicks almost won game 4 to tie the series but Starks got called for a travel on the game tying 3. Looking back the Knicks were getting old and showing it. They needed that boost of Allan Houston, LJ, and Chris Childs the following year.

  • Man u can still feel the tension today! amazing!!

  • im a bulls fan but starks was fouled on that shot hit in the arm

  • wow did he really drop that 3 insane

  • 6 people are not fans of old school NBA basketball. This era was awesome, I miss it.

  • Fucking lol, i've seen this game like many times but sill jumped up for joy when MJ tied it xD

  • Jordan > LeBron

    Jordan> Kobe

  • 6.32 huge travel..

  • The Lakers/Boston are the new Bulls/Knicks !!

  • @ImAProudSteelersFan failed attempt at getting likes

  • @marceant2 stfu u hoe. i wasnt attemptin to get likes dumbass

  • 6:29 3point is actually a travel. The ref-ing was so tight towards the Knicks but it wasn't reflected back towards the Bulls or Mike in particular..

  • @PoppinNungta and derek harper got away with 2 travels in the first couple mins of the vid. ur point?

  • @FreshWesss I had to subscribed to your page moe, great vids!

  • lol at rodman trying to trip ewing at 1:15

  • The great playoff competition shows how great the 72-10 Bulls feat was. EVer RD they played a CHampionship caliber team. The HEat iN RD One with Zo and Hardaway and they were only 8 seed because they did not assemble until trade deadline---its same team that was East 2 seed next season. This Knicks team is same that was one game away in 94. Magic with Shaq and Penny were same team that won 95 East, and the SOnics winning the West with Kemp, GP, Schrempf, etc. Tough competition.

  • i agree with you all and freshwess. if you look at the crowd they were bonkers and they even cheered for mike as well. when he hits that 3 pointer to tie it in the 4th, look at the crowd there cheering for him. what an experience that must have been for those people to watch that live. oh man!!!! and like u guys i cant watch todays nba. i try, but its not the same.

  • This game is everything the NBA today isn't, normally the game would be over with a minute & a half to go. Plus this shows how GREAT MJ is, willing his team from the brink of defeat. The one and only.

  • I went to MSG earlier this year to see a Knicks vs Heat game. It was so quiet. I wuld of loved to see this kind of atmosphere.

  • look at the garden roar...man this is basketball not this shit we have to watch today!! aint no comparising

  • These were the greatest Knicks vs Bulls 90's rivalry games. But the Bulls were the best team of the 90's and Michael Jordan who nobody couldn't stop them. Bulls 6 NBA titles and the Knicks were always a big time choke and still is which they are pathetic the Knicks organazation.

  • 5:56 - Excellent defense by Harper on that play but... off-the-charts offense by Jordan. *gasps*

  • look at the G.O.A.T. being able to tie the game at 88 to force OT with just 1:30 left to play in regulation with his team down by 8! AMAZING!

  • damn people falling on the play... no foul, just get back and setup. it was wayy better. nowadays you cant even buld up tension cuz theres a foul on any little mickey mouse contact.

  • @rigogurt and kids these days think today stars r better then jordan era or magic era...i dont think so..not with these mickey mouse foul they keep calling todays game have way to much foul calls. and to manyf ree throws. and bad defense one of the reaosn y kobe score so much..he wont score 15 in those defense in the 80s 90s he wont lasdt with the falling down body contacts they did he will cry for foul.

  • @Taywarit13 i will give it up to kobe tho, he has hit some of the most impossible shots ive ever seen in my life. its just that the fouls have beome such a big part of the game. fouls should be saved for the times when its fucking obvious, you know he probably woulda made a shot. i just cant stand this bullshit, a guy cant guard the drive anymore, any contact foul, if you put a hand up and he misses foul its wack

  • @rigogurt agree i still watch it but i dont enjoy it i use to...i dont get excited when i watch now.

  • JORDAN had the ultimate Killer Instinct!

  • what the...where's ot?? i wanna know what happened..lol

  • When everyone watched basketball

  • this is when basketball was still basketball

  • well anytime you give up an 88-80 lead in 1 and a half minutes of course your gonna be shitty.

  • MJ WAS AWESOME

  • WHERES OT!?!??!

and terrible last shot by the knicks

  • this was a hell of a game really. to bad u dont hear msg get that wild anymore.

  • @victortimeok only reason Knicks won this game was because Kukoc was injured. or else this series was a sweep

  • @frusionnn That doesn't matter. Now that todays NBA can have three of the best players on the team, I'll never watch the NBA the same ever again. It makes me wish that I grew up in the 90's when basketball was basketball. Im a Knick fan yea, but even though Jordan and the Bulls owned us, it's still better Basketball than today. Am I right?

  • @victortimeok what are you referring to when you said ''that doesn't matter''? did you mean it doesn't matter that if Kukoc was there they still would not have swept the Knicks?

  • @frusionnn When I said it doesn't matter, I meant that I was only three years old when this game happened, and the first game I saw as a Knicks fan was when I was 6 when the Knicks were in the finals. So basically it happend 14 years ago so it doesn't matter to me. But like I said this was one hell of a game. I saw another vid about it. But NBA today sucks compared to this.

  • @victortimeok Yeah these were great series as well. I wish basketball was like this still. And I'm a big Knicks fan .

  • this was a more competitive series than the 4-1 result would have you believe. there was a lot of concern after this game that the knicks would tie it up in game 4 at home...but there's always mj.

  • Watch the replay @ 6:32; Mike traveled too

  • what traveled??watch again...

  • Uh, I did watch it again, and again, and again.....b4 he put the ball on the floor from his triple threat position, he shuffled his feet.

  • I don't see a travel at 4:43

  • He slid his pivot b4 the ball hit the floor. Its a good call.

  • those were the good basketball days. no1 can compare those games to todays games

those games were so much more exiting

  • 10 point in 5 min, amazing ,WTF...

  • 1:55--couldn't they get Ewing a bigger chair to sit on? He looks like he's in a pre-school classroom.

  • man you made me laugh so much with this comment xD hahah can't stop laughing :D

  • how fuckin amazing is jordan? like seriously wow lol

  • The garden was so alive back then you can hear a pin drop these days.

  • hell yeah. its so bad now they usually cheer for the opposite team.

  • I wish NBC still had the NBA broadcasts...

  • damm i miss that knicks team, that team was great, we shoulda had a championship but starks had that 1-18 game but i still love ewing and starks

  • Ahh when the Knicks and the Bulls were still great teams. God, the Knicks suck today watching old games from the 90s and comparing that team to this team, or the old Bulls team to the new one makes me want to cry.

  • Right on that. Can't believe they're applauding the 61 pts in this pathetic, wimpy-defense, young-clowns and spoiled brats NBA Era. MJ would have scored 50 pts/game under those stupid, sissy rules. Jordan - the Ultimate Knicks Tormenter. Kobe and LEbron - watch some 90's vintage games to learn how to feel the game.

  • And as a matter of fact, Jordan should be the nba logo instead of jerry west.

  • These were the days when the Garden crowd was vicious, not soft as hell (chanting MVP for Kobe)

  • omfG Jordan wuz a fuckin beast, where u think kobe got it from?

  • post the ot of this game.

  • john showed some hang time!

  • I don't know what sucks about NBA. It's still damn good and will be getting better over the years thanks to the new up and coming stars. The teams are strong and there's big tight competition in both conferences so you never know what's going to happen year to year. I honestly don't know what you people are complaining about. If you don't accept inevitable change (such as players like Jordan having to retire) then you won't like ANYTHING over time.

  • What sucks about todays NBA? - officiating (worst in sports) - rule changes (handchecking, 3sec, zone) - european influences - lost art of defense - lack of fundamentals - players who behave like spoiled brats - the increasing whining and flopping - poor presentation of the game - Stern I'm sure there's more, haha :)
  • I'll add a few more...

    -ABC

    -ESPN

    -Leaving Seattle

    -Memphis Grizzlies

  • one more - Dennis Rodman

  • Add 'audience' to the list.

I'm watching Hornets-Cavs right now and the atmosphere is pathetic. I know it's just a regular season game, but come on. You even have NBA arenas with fake cheering and clapping from tape nowadays. Boy were we spoiled with 80s and 90s basketball.

  • the flopping takes it away

  • It does suck big time (like everything else). I can barely get myself to watch NBA games anymore. At least I have my old NBA on NBC games that I can watch over and over again to relive the memories... priceless.

  • i hav'nt watched nba in years.. does it suck like everything

    else in 2008?

  • when the garden will be like this agin

  • 2013

  • bulls vs knicks in the 90's was the best basketball ever

  • Whe the NBA was great to watch!! i didnt mind Ewing's ugly ass!!

  • this is one of the greatest playoff games for me, 4th game, do or die for the Knicks and they always should Knick Pride throughout

  • Basketball NEVER got any better than this

Chicago vs New York (2 if the 3 biggest markets)

    Jordan vs Ewing

    Team Sports at its finest

  • you mean Jordan vs Starks.

    Basketball at it's finest.

  • no it wast:D Chicago was. look who won 6times and who didnt:D

  • so why did chicago dominted that time?

  • got the best rebounder in the leage )Rodman) the best small forward at that time (Pippen) and the best shooter ever Jordan

  • correction: best player ever Jordan

    ;)

  • agree on that.. .

  • Oh my goooooooood what an amazing play by Jordan !!!!!

  • and they say mj cant shoot the threes

  • lol van gundy is great

  • Man, I wish basketball didn't suck now.

  • starks should never play in a 4th qtr playoff game.

  • 1996 The last of the nba,s Golden ERA

  • Rodman tries to trip Ewing at 1:16, classic.

  • Ya, If that happened today both of them would get tossed and queer stern would give suspensions. Back then the ref's let em play, not it's a girls league.

  • now*

  • MJ the best ever

  • i miss these old rivalries. i wish the nba could be like what it was before.

  • fucking knicks take that, too bad they lost though in ot, this series was revenge for the bullshit series in 94, where pippen should have went to the finals, and who knows, maybe bulls win in 94

  • i know michael jordan because my dad works with the bobcats organization!!!

  • whoohoo that 360 from Starks! what a move.if he dunked that one it would be even better then the dunk from 1993

  • I'm a huge knick fan and i will lose 10 yrs off my life just to se the knicks get back to playoff basketball. I wish it was 1999 all over again

  • yeah i will lose about 30 years being a Rangers/Knicks/Mets fan

  • you got Michael Jordan games?

  • This is a perfect demonstration of how the knicks always choke when the pressures on and why they haven't won a championship for over 30 years.

  • what the hell are you talking about? The Bulls were suppsoed to win this series. Knicks barely made the playoffs that year. And they won this game by the way....

You're a Rockets fan? lol...Nobody cares about them even when they won championships 10 years ago....

  • you should post march 29, 1995 the 55 point game against the knicks.

  • Was game 1 of this series on NBC???

  • lol I forgot we played these fuckatards in 96 wow ny some losers

  • ok bandwagon boy

  • this was when basketball was a MAN's game. REAL basketball, not the wimpy stuff we have today. Kobe or LeBron would NEVER survive in today's league.

  • yes very true. the game has gotten trashy, theres no more fundamentals, no more skill involved.

  • yea right, you ever see tim duncan play? Hes the definition of fundamental.

  • Allan Iverson

  • FUCK DOLAN! FUCK LAYDEN! FUCK Larry "bitch-ass, faking cancer or whatever to get paid" Brown!!! Steph, D. Lee, Jamal, and Eddy willo be enough to get the Knicks tothe playoff in 2007-08...if Randolph can just fit in, its FINALS time...I don't care if the Celtics have Garnett!!

  • as much as i love him he brought too much pain to this knicks fan damn him damn him!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm from Detroit and I couldn't stand Jordan, but I will give him his respect. He was a HELL of a basketball player!

  • I also have this game on tape and i was estatic when the knicks beat the Bulls 102-99 in overtime.

  • Man, Cablevision and James Dolan have ruined the Knicks. Once all the old contracts were done with (they bought the team in 1995) or the veterans were traded, they wound up just filling the roster with what we have now.

I wonder when the Garden will be rocking like that again. And when the Bulls came to town--apart from all the NYCers who wore Jordan jersies--the desire to beat Chicago was palpable.

    Now, jeez....

Maybe in another ten years, they will be good again.

  • Damn, Jordan was amazing. The Knicks were kind of like the Jazz in a way. Great team for all those years, but just for one reason or another couldn't get over the hump, a lot of it had to do with just the greatness of Jordan.

  • Yeah they kinda were, Utah had a longer stretch of greatness probably from 88-99 they had premier teams. New York came into its own in 91-92 and Patrick leaving signaled the end but Jeff Van Gundy leaving in 2001 was the real end.

  • I love my Knicks

  • I mean do you not hear dat Garden, the energy, the give it your all by the Knicks, dats how the game is suppose to be played, whether in the NBA or during a pick-up game, respect da game

  • I hate Jordan, he killed us everytime

  • Well, bring back the hand checking....that would make the game much more physical. This piece of 2:30 left in the game would've been stopped at least 5 times because of roughness in today's game.

  • Man these games used to be so tense. You could just feel the pressure. I miss these days a lot.

  • wow, they really let them play back then. It was physical, now it's so wimpy cuz of the ref's.

  • Look at Rodman and Ewing get in each others faces around 1:15 and nothing was called, I love that. This is when the game was great, I'd love to go back to these days

  • Damn, that crowd was LOUD. This truly was a heated rivalry, I find myself getting out of my computer desk chair and yelling at the monitor. MJ just took this game by himself, I believe Pippen had a 3-pointer in overtime to tie it and he missed.

  • The Defense organ is still my all time favorite thing at any arena. Whenever a game at The Garden is close and that organ does that, nothing is more amazing.

The post Finals Knicks from 1994-1998 are vastly underrated. They got stuck with both bad coaching moves (Don Nelson just never worked...), and the return of Jordan. Great clip, thanks!

  • That Old Defense Organ chant is what I missed and I also missed the corporate towels they had every playoff game at the Garden. The Place Was Just BERSERK. Hopefully all of it comes back next season when the knicks are in playoff contention.

    GO NY GO NY GO

    Knicks Basketball 07-08

  • That was pretty much the end of the Ewing/Oakley/Mason/Starks/Harper Knicks era - Don Nelson was hired and resigned during that season, Van Gundy took over, they brought LJ, Houston, and Sprewell in during the next couple of years, Ewing was perpetually hurt.

I've always rooted against the Knicks, but it would be nice to see some meaningful games at MSG again (Isiah is awful)...I love that organ-sounding keyboard.

  • Damn that's some Defense. Can't do that in today's game the refs have the game on lock, even the swipes at the ball by Jordan on the Knicks last couple possesions would be called foul.

  • Great memories. Jordan/Pippen/Rodman vs Ewing/Starks/Oakley. 1998 marks the end of NBA Golden era where every shot was contested & defense dictated the flow of the game. & this is when Jordan seperated himself from the rest, defied even his 35 years age & willed himself to crucial victories. Although he Bulls lost this game in OT.

  • great clip new york are such chickers

  • Nice old school clip. This is why MJ is the best ever LOL
