The fascinating point is they had to be actually type out their creative ideas.

The frustrating point is that while technology gets BETTER, people get DUMBER.

Or maybe it just enables dumber people to voice their opinions, because back then, when you had to actually type down a picture in octal the random idiot that needs a "break" if he needs to think about something simple couldnt find out how to plug in the modem.

Wow... talk about memories! I used to worship the work of a lot of these guys. Never got into ACiD or iCE but had some fun in Apathy and Avenge. '94 - '97 were some great years. Lots of hanging out on iRC.

When I first saw this I thought "oh how gay. nobody cares about ansi art. what a dumbass." and then i realize that he's going public with what i've always wanted to do but never had the guts to do. hats off to everyone involved. this exhibition represents what i put almost 10 years of my life into. this is fantastic.

I did ANSI for about 6 years. Started locally in Southern Calfornia for friends BBS and within a few years got into a few larger groups. RuNE, FiRE and I started a few others that were independant projects. Before the BBS crash around '93 I applied for both ACiD and iCE. I think I released 1 pack with each group, though was never an official memeber? To this day I cannot find record of me being part of either but man ... those were the days.

Excellent video! I was searching for something just like this, and found it! Ah, nostalgia. I remember my old 1200 baud and C64. *reminisces* This ANSI art looks so brill when printed in large-format, I wonder if anyone's made a Photoshop filter or similar editor to convert any image into an ANSI-style work.
