Okay, seriously. Shang taught men with no militar training how to fight and gave them actual combat prowess. Mulan is teaching these girls a philisophical lesson of how you must be equally soft and hard to be a good warrior. Shang taught Lesson Number Two, which I would assume is harder than Lesson Number One.
