@angrykorean We currently do not have an upper ball joint video on this particular vehicle. We'll keep this in mind during any future repairs that we might do to this type of a vehicle. Thank you for visiting our auto repair channel.
@crazytazzy101 HI at the current time we do not. Some of the basics may be the same as shown in this video. There could be a few added steps on your Astro van and a difference in the way some of the components come apart though.
you guys literally had every video i needed to rebuild my truck. thank you so much, you have saved me more money than you know, i am a definite subscriber
@wtl1964 I would maybe fix any other front suspension issues so that you only need it to be aligned once. If everything else is all set then you should be fine.
@screaminlemon Usually what happenes is that you may experiance a popping noise while you sharp turns with the vehicle. If you lift one of the front tires of the vehicle off of the ground and place a pry bar under it, if it easily moves up and down and you can hear it make noise. It would be a good idea to replace them.
I need to replace the lower ball joint on my gmc 1500 4wd sierra have you done a video on this and is the fact that it is a 4wd make it much more difficult?
I went to the alignment shop today to check how much it cost to change front lower ball joints on my 99 acura rl. ... 1700 BUCKS!!! I ebayed those joints ... it's like 44 BUCKS!!!! DOING IT MYSELF NOW!!!
@kosmosleha Glad we could help. We carry those ball joints on our website 1aauto.com for less than what you had paid; we offer FREE SHIPPING too on all of our parts.
Did you ever make a video on the cv joint for this truck? I am getting ready to order both the lower and upper and I want to replace them at the same time. Thanks
There is alot easier way to do this, that is to just take the whole steering knuckle (spindle) right off the vehicle and leave the wheel bearing still bolted on. Can save alot of time and you dont run the risk of the wheel bearing being wrecked trying to get it to sperate from the spindle.
@midrew1 They are different but the top is usually easier. Support the suspension seperate the ball joint from the steering knuckle then swap it out of the control arm. If it has never been replaced then you will need to grind the rivets off.
Can you guys do a video on a 87 Monte Carlo ss

wtl1964 2 months ago
@wtl1964 if it feels loose I would check the tie rod ends and all of the other steering components to see if any of the bushings are worn out.

Great Video! Is it any different replacing the front lower ball joint for a RWD Blazer?
oompaboy85 4 months ago
@oompaboy85 It should be pretty close. If it's 2WD you wouldn't have the front axles to have to deal with.
