looks like the bothy at conniston which i spent a week repairing the roof and rebuilding the chimny and fire place at 20 years back, is it still dry and are my one peice benches still inside, its at the old slate cave up the railway lines, which i used for roof suports.(if it is conniston)
How did you manage to light the fire without the smoke blowing back inside??.... We stayed there a couple of nights ago and the wind coming though the walls made the fire impossible.
Cant wait to head back there, we'll be camping over by Black Beck Tarn next.
Great video.... We watched this a year ago and were soo jealous, so couldn't believe our luck when we stumbled across it and instantly recognised it from your post.
whats the name of the bothy as id like to stay in that 1 for a night while walking? My friend and i do the scottish bothies but never been to a lake district one :) the OS coordinates would be good :)
i do all my camping off trail above the tree line, i spent one 2 week trip repairing the roof of the bothy at conniston old man. i was wondering if you could send me the refs for the bothy in the video. much appreciated
@terrybnd I'm new to Bothies. What do you mean about the bothy code in this context? I hope it's not somewhat secretive and exclusive and i've been breaking these rules
Thats a gem of a bothy.. stayed in it during a storm 2 years back.. the wind was battering it so hard that bits of mortar were falling onto us! Very nicely hidden too. Great vid!
Fantastic! So tranquil, yet forboding at times.

Absolute sheer magic, we've planned a stay at the bothy later in the year. I think we might draw straws for the wood carrier!!
Once again another piece of magic from Terry.
