Now I get it: The difference between the Soviet Union and the USA is that while the USSR had their Gulags, the USA has Casino-Gulags... meaning that in the USA (or what's still left of it) the people in the Gulags are fed the illusion that their circumstances COULD radically (and quickly) change for the better. ...
