  • Iam a philly guy but do i love chicago soul how sweet it is----- the bear

  • This is a masterpiece of Chicago soul. This ranks with anything from the impressions, Major Lance or any other group from Chicago. But i'm a motown boy born and raised. What do I know, so Chicagoans, anyone disagree. Anything from the Windy City that can match this beautiful masterpiece so full of soul.

  • I don't believethis. I've been looking for this for over 40 years. I didn't know the singer or whatever but I knew it was pre Chicago sound. Thanks pghpookie for doing this. Tell me are you in Chicago. I'll be there in about 6 months from Detroit Motown. I love the city.

  • Written by Billy Butler? - I'm surprised. There's a very strong influence from Curtis Mayfield I think. The lyrics and melody as well as the harmonies have all the earmarks of a Curtis song. Nice one from Chicago's 'Golden age of Soul'.

  • UNREAL! UNBELIEVABLE and totally underrated! Thanks for posting!

  • first time i ve been listening to this song..im 29 and im a turk ..never been to usa..but i really like this music..

  • I remember when this was played on WVON in Chicago. It was in the winter time and for years I thought it was Billy Butler singing lead. Yes, this is a excellent example of the Chicago sound of the 60's. Wow! this is a different world than when this came out.

  • this is truly a chicago classic. one of my all time favorite dusties, billy bulter wrote it major lance produce it riley hampton arranged it. all the ingredients that makes chicago soul the best music ever recorded.

  • Anyone know what year this came out?

  • this was late 1964 on blue rock.

  • Many thanks Les Brown

  • ...Just wonderful. This music is timeless...

  • I love this song! Pure soul doesn't get any better than this! Thanks for sharing this gem.

  • glad you liked this. one of my faves. otis leavill was a wonderful artist. sorely underrated. thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.

  • Thank you with all my heart. I grew up in Gary Indiana next to Chicago. I love Otis and Billy and Little Ben and all your great music I Thought I was alone in my taste of this sound we love!!!

  • you are not alone! i just remember how hard it was to get some of the small chicago label releases in pgh. i know there was a direct line from the promo guys to WAMO, and they would play so many great songs for maybe a couple weeks, but then you couldn't get the record. i think the supply chain ended in cleveland!!!
