The tone never really changed... then showing a "backwards delay" by playing random shredding. When did GNR ever need that? Wasn't rock about feel and tone? Heck Buckethead played good rock with Guns and didn't go out playing with sound and trying to be what seems to be a band of one man shows... Talent, yeah, but it seems wasted to me.
@PlayaGuitar if you went to see GnR live, you'd see that he's actually a great guitar player..who technically speaking is wasted on GnR styled music but..he fits that band perfectly. he knows exactly when to stay close to the original parts and when to give his own style to the mix. GnR in its original would have had no use for him, but todays GnR are quite a different band and if you listened to CD you'd know that the guitar works stepped up quite a bit. thus theres a reason for him after all!
did his parents name him that at Birth?.the Doctor said..."Mam, your the proud mother of a baby boy.." what are you going to name him?." ..ah Doc,..its either Archibald Percival Clubfoot lll or , heck after that 36 labor breach baby..he's a freekin Bumblefoot
they r both incredible guitar players. id say they have equal talent as far as playing goes but bumblefoots songs tend to have a tune instead of crazy solos and fucked up noises.
You know looking at this guys techniques and listening to his playing it makes me wonder does Slash even bother furthering his abilities? or did the guy just stop ? I am now feeling that Slash is just hype these days.
Slash isn't a shredder. He's more of an in the pocket guy who also writes great tunes, and he has great tone. I like shredders like Ron Thal, but the songs that Slash played like Sweet Child and Paradise City are flat out classics. The new album that Axle put out pales in comparison in every way.
Ron Thal isn't just a shredder. He can shred but he can do lots of different stuff, and trust me he knows how to hold back, and doesn't overplay mellow songs for instance
Nope they didn't...Buckethead left in 2004. Bumblefoot joined in 2006. They do know each other though. Bumblefoot was supposed to do vocals on a Buckethead album ( yeah..vocals ) but it unfortunately didn't happen. At least they shared an album ^^
I'm sorry, but that's not true at all. I've been a fan of both players since the mid 90's, but there was never any mention of Ron doing vocals on a Buckethead CD. Ron did say that he would like to play and sing with Bhead, during one of his shows, but not on an album. If there ever would be a collaboration it would be a shame if Ron would only sing, since he's the better (more rounded technically) guitar player of the two.
I think it was during the None Radio interview or something. Anyway, it was a long ass Bbf interview from like 2005 and he said that Buckethead contacted him a few years before because he wanted him to SING on one of his albums. Ron wanted to do it but Bucket never contacted him back.
yeah most tone freaks like eric johnson, srv, joe satriani, always use a near no effects amp that produces a extremely clean tone, then they use pedals because the tone is much better even if it is a more complex or a simple set up, the line six kinda sucks. but its not like ron is made o money guess he gots to make due, (btw the tone on normal and abnormal is much better.)
what are you, high? Buckethead and Bumblefoot sound nothing alike, and also they couldn't have different builds. Buckethead is built more like Paul Gilbert is but a lot taller.
did you know that both ron thal and bucket were at one point the guitarist for guns and roses it would be mighty hard for buckethead to be two people playing to parts at the same time. (i guess he could do it though sinces he like a robot.)
Where do you get your information? Ron Thal and Buckethead were never in Guns n Roses at the same time. Buckethead left in 2004 and Thal joined in 2006.
to be like me...."speak like a cross between sylvester Stallone and Yogie Bear". What a legend.
Also, he gets some damn good tones! I thik I prefer his old album's valve tones though, I have to say. But for sheer diversity and quality, it seems to be between this amp and the fractal audio rack.
I like the sounds here more than the sounds he uses on his album. I think his albums would be of so much more quality to me, if the tone did not sound like a little kid playing with a line 6 spider :p. The playing is still awesome though. I just don't like the tone
I love my Line 6 Vetta!

But Line 6 rock! (Especially the valve one!)
