The only reason it was cancled was because SOCOM requested a 5.56mm conversion for the SCAR-H to reduce the need for so many cage numbers when ordering parts. This way both cartridges can be used with one common reciever instead of having two seperate weapon systems. The SCAR-L units that the DOD have already purchased will remain in sercrvice, but any future 5.56mm purchases will be in the form of a SCAR-H with the 5.56mm conversion.

it's too bad the US stopped buying SCAR L's. It's superior to the M4 in almost every way, but there's too many guns in the caliber. The SCAR H is a nice addition to the US Armory cuz the US hadn't focused on that caliber in a while. Both are as good as the ACR

@jakkree2029 actually technically SOCOM didnt cancel scar l. They stop producing just the scar l straight up and now they are buying the scar h and then just buying the parts to convert the scar h to the l. This way the operator doesnt have to complete guns saves room and money

Well, I don't know where Dice/EA got this info from, but when since was the SCAR-L a carbine? I always found information on many websites that it was an Assault Rifle not carbine. Anyway, this also proves that weapons these days have lower recoil as well, which is great and its on video.

It is so odd that the newer rifles push their modularity as a selling point when the rifle it might replace is already a modular system. Either way 1/2 of the fighters will complain because they're getting a new rifle while 1/2 of the fighters will complain about not getting a rifle. My main gripe with the AR family et al is that it's chambered in 5.56mm but I'd like it more if it was chambered for something in the .243 range which is what the Brits wanted in the 1st place lo those long yrs ago.

Real .223 SCARs have almost no muzzle rise or recoil, same goes for most of the next generation weapons like the ACR, etc.

I feel confident that I could not only control my SCAR-16 in automatic, but I could also make a nice man sized grouping too at combat distances.
