Do U have any idea what is wrong with my 003 Factory. My Synth always freeze up. They(Digi) blame my Roland Synth but works perfect with M-Box1 and Protools 6.1 on PC. My 003 Factory huge shit is hugged up to Mac by firewire. No one in my city can even know how to use it but know how to sell it. What is wrong with MIDI then? Help

@AllThingsFresh702 they are moterized faders used with automation. In other words. You can tell the computer to record your fader movements when mixing a song. Then when you play back the song it moves the faders in the manner you moved them while the "automation" was recording (fader movements) to the computer. Hope this helps.

@briandawkings This workstation can only use 18 channels max simultaneously. You would need to get the additional preamps w/ ADAT

The steinberg MR816 series have phenomenal converters and pres.

They do not include faders though. Only rack systems

@yousurfer2 Stay away from ProTools LE/M-Powered. Their are much better options out there...the clocks in their interfaces are sh@tty...that's why ReWire is so unstable in ProTools.... Go Logic, FL Studios, Nuendo, or Cubase. You can ReWire Reason with any of these and not have issues.

How to set up, that I can hear my synth when I hooked up to digi 003. There is no sound when I work with MIDI(small Mbox no problem). How to hook up Mic so when I record vocal I can hear voice coming just like in my old Mbox where is input and playback. Mbox I can hear my voice during recording. Not in Digidesign 003 I can put small or big volume to hear my self. Mbox is better then spend $3000 for Digi 003(not factory) What is going on.

Protools is the VHS tape of the music industry, Beta tape is way better, but most of the world got stuck with VHS cause it saturated the market... Sonar is way better!

Just worked for 4 hours on a Roland VS2480CD got a great recording done and then it froze and I lost everything. Just got a factory 003 desk and I think the VS is shortly being launched out of the 3rd storey studio window or we're having a ceremonial burning of it or something. I'll film it and let you see haha!

I have a 003 rack and 2 Presonus Bluetube preamps. Could someone tell me how to connect the bluetubes to the 003 which is connected to the mac pro via firewire. How many xlr inputs will i have?

you shouldn't need them, there are pre amps built in the 003.

yes there are preamps in the 003, but there are only 4 XLR inputs. I need another 8 at least for my studio to be fully functional. Also, i wouldn't want to use the pres in the 003 as I think they are pretty crappy.

I ended up getting rid of the BlueTubes because i felt they were garbage. I am currently looking to buy an API 3124 pre. How would I plug this into the 003 to run it into the computer?

mic into pre amp input and the pre amp output to channel 5-8, cause channel 1-4 have pres, but if you want the tube pre sound, use your blue tubes

I was workin on 003 by my friend, and i decided to by one myself. Dont compare this fine piece of industrial equipment with ableton or logic. I was working with them too, but if get used to protools, than u dont need anything else. Like told in video, it is an industrial standard. And why? Cos it has nearly flawless algorithms for digital processing. So, STFU, and deal with the ultimate and unique digital power, which impressed the most famous studios as well.(It also needs top notch computer)

Pro Tools has come a long way on Vs 8 with MIDI. It's MUCH better! Much easier to use as well. You get some really decent sounding virtual instruments.

Sonnyboy you have to be one of those uninformed musicians. Protools and Ableton do not make music. What makes music is your audio interface. It is impossible for Pro tools to sound better, because the sound comes from your Audio interface. What you could say is that the mix down is better, because of the better piping. Ableton is for beat making/& is far superior in speed. Ableton is for musicians who make beats at a faster pace. Ableton is for music creation, while protools is for post.

U need nothin, just pro tools. Protools with complete bundle. Its everything inside. Forget the cheap hosts, just use Pro tools with 003, and ull be satisfied.
