  • he told me that he was a alpha tester for Image line and that Fl Studio might be used in some other way. If you are wondering!

  • man we really miss u pls reply .. just tell me u r okay

    plsssss guys thumbs this up

  • i'm pretty disappointed, it's not the whole thing :( where is the other stuff? what do you think about yourself? hah? just leave the people dying here? bad boy! now go in ther corner and record a new tutorial!!!!! :DDD (please:))

  • this is the best music tutorial i'v ever seen and i don't even finishd yet!!!!!!!!! :DDDDDDDD

  • where are next videos please tell me............................em dying saveeeeeeeee meeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • the first one says "halelulla" and the second one says "get me a hot dog" lol...

  • what's the secret message?

  • I absolutely love these videos. Some of the best FL Studio tutorials I've seen. Keep 'em coming. I look forward to more.

  • LOL at the Cartman XD

  • lol at the satanic stuff

  • I want to see the "NIN_remix" file lol. Good tutorials

  • 14:15 "uhh stick n move" wth gimme the loot part rite there :D

  • I have the full version of Fl, but in Toxic it says I have to buy the Wobble Bass :c

  • @Murkling Yes - Not free. It's an easy user friendly synth - one of my favorites, but the same functionality is in 100% free synths. These effects can be done from the mixer too. Search free VST synths on google - a lot of it is really good. Don't think you need to purchase Toxic or any other synth...You can produce professional music without buying extra software (I'm just too lazy). requires skill/work - but your music won't sound generic if you go that route - and you save money.

  • slowland try changing ur audio setting.u may of changed it!

  • I fucking lold.

  • 19:10 "Screw you Hippie!"

  • Nice vid! Check mine to get some hip hop samples!

  • Song is nice and your tutorials are very good... But i wonder how you made that hithat? where can i find it? (Hithat Ratchet )

  • 19:00 Am I being trolled?

  • so what's the message ?

  • And lol @ talking about subliminal effects and the sigil reappearing. Smooth. :]

  • What's up with the sigils brah? Also, thank you for these videos, I feel like I can make any kind of music I want now thanks to you.

  • When comes part 7?

  • Your tutorials have been very helpful.. I am progressing!! BUT I was making a track earlier and after I added another channel the 1st and 2nd pattern just became silent!! any solutions?!?!?!?! THANX!!

  • @SlowedandMixed Something is causing a mute/cut - This can be hard to pin down for someone that does not know FL Studio too well though. There are hundreds of ways to cut/mute patterns and audio in FL Studio, and you accidentally triggered one of them. It's impossible for me to know exactly what happened. I can tell you that adding a channel will never do that though. That fact you noticed it after, was just coincidental.

  • @ste1438 thanks for replying but can u tell me some ways to unmute it because I really want to finish this track..thanks man!!

  • @SlowedandMixed As said - It's just impossible for me to know where the problem is at. could be a synth level, mixer level, compressor, limiter, equalizer, automation clip, a mute button on the sequencer, mute on the mixer, channel cut, an automated event...and the list goes on and on - the thing is that I covered a lot of this up to this video. I'm surprised that you haven't figured it out though,. You might have really messed something up.

  • @ste1438 lol yea maybe... it happened after I added an automation clip if that helps

  • @SlowedandMixed I think you would have known if an automation clip were the problem. You should ask at the imageline forums (loop talk) - if it is a project that you want to keep. You can upload your project and someone should be able to figure it out. Without seeing the project, no one is going to be able to know why your patterns aren't playing back. Check the mute on any peak controller if you used one of those - that trips up a lot of people.

  • @ste1438 FIXED IT!! the problem was on the mixer I just pressed on the little green buttons on the channels that were silent and tah dah

  • Thumbs up if u ready for video number 7!!

  • Im using it on a mac, I can't hear anything when I select the 2 loops, even when I plug in a note in to the step sequencer. (HELP)

  • Is there any way to reverse a text-to-speech made with speech syntheziser?

  • First, thank you for your videos. Helpful for every producer who is willing to put the time in. Secondly, I have noticed sigils in every video....curious, my friend, curious. It seems a combination of a few (including variously ascribed Michael and Gabriel sigils). What's the scoop on that?

  • @ste1438 please make video 7! your video's are brilliant definitely expanding my knowledge!

  • are we pro after watching this video?? just kidding (:

    Nice videos man!

  • Took me a little less than a week to watch and learn from all your videos, up to 6. Now I feel like having a pizza party! Thanks for being my teacher for fruity loops!

  • That song was so cool!

I love these tutorials, they've taught me so much

Thanks for everything Ste, you're amazing :3

  • Haha, reverse vocals are always fun. I don't know if you're familiar with the "Halo" series, but I liked the music from the game (Martin O'Donnel is and amazing composer) and there were a few tracks with a low gutteral voice sound in them. Cleaned it up and reversed them and it was actually a character talking about his past. So cool how this can all work ^_^

  • screw you hippy! hilarious!

  • i get relaxed when i "produce" music...

  • your videos are what helped met get released man :) you rock, keep it up!

  • Please Part 7 I love your videos THANK YOU SO MUCH <3

  • part 7 :(

  • the only thing i really need help on is melody's i have mastered the beats and everything, i think i can make a nice beat but with no melody.. please make a melody tutorial (drum and bass not on trance because all the melody tutorials are on trance) i would much appreciate it! thanks :)

  • is there a part 7? :L

  • Best FL tutorial!

  • why am I not surprised by your choice of Eric Clapton samples. Haha. He is a god though. Nice tutorial by the way.

  • thanks sensei!

  • FL studio for the win!

  • i wonder how u get the pattern list

  • I always new you where funny :P

  • where video 7

  • @ste1438 wath the thing to increase the sound at the begining???(patern6)

  • @JDTHEDJ100 cest "l'expression" du son je sais parce que sur garageband cest ca lol

  • How do you get the note thing to show in the mixer instead of the db meter (above the knobs)

  • u gotta make Video 7 of this series, its so good

  • Please make an Epic Orchestra tutorial :(

  • OMG the like button on the VIDEO is bugged, i just liked it 50 times! TRY IT!

  • Anyone else lol hard at "screw you hippie!"?

  • whats the eric calpton song saying when you reverse it. i cant make it out :/

  • thanks for your help dude,i was completely clueless. actually starting to learn now;thanks a bunch

  • dude love your vids... think you should stop worring how long they are and just talk about what you want. keep it up.

  • i can't draw the channel panning for the rachet hi-hat like how you did

  • Do you know of a simple, freeware program to be able to analyse reverse speech?

  • i guess theres only so much you can teach until you really have to go on your own and experiment on fl studio yourself, a but i agree with maxxymafful pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease make a dubstep tutorial on how to use VSTs and whatnot

  • Wait a sec... "screw you hippie"... Your voice sounds like cartman from southpark when its reversed.

  • yeah, i dont get it.. exactly what am i supposed to hear in that reversed styx sampled??

  • Comment removed

  • can u please do a only dubstep tutorial im sure it will be the best budstep tutorial on youtube

  • @megadude86 That was about showing people how to use Edison to analyze-edit audio and extract/isolate waveforms for sampling - sorry that you thought that was useless. At this point all the basics are covered. So there is gray area where some people will find things useful and others will not.

  • @ste1438 yeah sorry about my comment. It kinda wasn't my day. Thanks for these tutorials. You really did help me learn the basics althought I have to replay some of the tutorials in order to understand those hard stuff with the effects and such. Anyway, thanks a lot for putting your efford in those videos. These are probably the best tutorials I could find over youtube. Whatever happened to part 7?

  • just a quick question how do i get the pattern bars up below my track bars i crnt seem to get them up help plz ?

  • HAHAHA, your voice reversed SCREW YOU HIPPY! lol

  • how can you use one automatation clip for multiple sons .?

ex: if i want to fade some sons and let some normal volume.

  • Comment removed

  • the third part of ur reverse voice sound like cartman cursin lol

  • how did you make the wave appear in the mixer at about 9:10 ?

  • hahahaha 'screw you hippie!'

  • i didn't understand the reverse eric clapton track....

  • ste1438, I have learned so much from your videos. I would like to make a correction, though. Wobble basses typically modulate the cutoff frequency of a low-pass filter, not the volume. Everything else you said about the topic is correct and useful. Thanks a lot for giving away all this information, you've helped me a lot.

  • @BlueEnigma34 This is not entirely true, LFO's are used for all sorts of parameters for a wobble bass effect. Volume and Distortion LFOs are actually just as common as automatinf filters. Beyond that though it's all about exploring and experimenting with different LFO shapes and peak effects possibilities - along with reverb and delay effects. - don't can caught up in a paradigm of right and wrong - use your ear - experiment and have fun. That is the point of this tutorial.

  • AHA youre hilarious dude

  • i can't hear the messages. :(

could someone please type it? :P

  • @WNxRadeon the Eric Clapton sample allegedly says 'I am wicked' and the Styx one 'Satan, move in our voice'. The Clapton one is interesting since he is singing an anti-drug song while stating that he is wicked.... kinda reminds me of the anti-tobacco propaganda in the US funded by the tobacco companies x)

  • @defekkto i see.

    ty :)

  • Hahaha first 20 minutes is just for fun. I laughed though, good job.

  • pleeeeeease do a 7th video :)

  • "practical use of the basics" If you decide to make another video please cover this.

  • that was pretty good

  • good vids man but could you try to make your videos shorter? thanks

  • thank for your free information

  • Can someone please tell me how to loop a section in Song Playlist, so that I can mess with the bass melody inside one of the patterns in real time while it's playing back looping a section of the song?

  • Make video 7!!!!!!

Also how do I make an automation clip when I'm using a 3rd party synth? Thanks!

  • @dmc9870 That is covered near the end of the last video. It's not as straight forward, but pretty simple. Just not east to explain. 3rd party synths do not have the same right click options (sure you figure that out). You have several options, but I think using multi-link right click is the easiest way.

  • Comment removed

  • i think it's funny that the first part of a tutorial-serie always have much more than the last ;P

  • @ddjava Your right, and the view count indicates that too. I think at this point, since most of the basics are covered, it's just not as important. I should start a new series for Intermediate users - composition, practical use of the basics, and aesthetics. Planned more, but I don't think continuing on this series is going to work out.

  • @ste1438 hey bro i just got the program and im going through all your videos first, they are very helpful i wanna thank you for your time and helping us who are barely starting giving us a push into this software, quick question, how long did it take you to start doing decent tracks/or to get the feel of FL studio?

  • @ste1438 Yes, please! You're amazing, thanks for the help. A new Intermediate series would be epic! (and appreciated)

  • HAHA i heard SCREW YOU HIPPY

  • dude that sounded cool

  • I just have one question. Assuming that someone is talented and hardworking enough, is it POSSIBLE to make a professional top track? Or is it always gonna be needed something else?

I saw i video interview of laidback luke. He seems to produce in his own room with only fl studio and that is really inspiring so. Is it realistic to think that with enough hardwork and talent someone can reach that kind of talent using only this?

  • @getdecent Just a few years ago it was debatable - but PC technology and software improvements make it erosible to produce professional music with just a PC and music software. Just consider, a $100,000 synth from the eighties is nothing at all, compared to what FL Studio is today. What used to cost hundreds of thousands of dollar in hardware to create, is now packed in to your PC. Today we take a lot for granted. Many new music producers, don't realize how extraordinary the technology is.

  • @ste1438 that´s just what i wanted to hear ;) by the way, thanks very much for the tutorials. It is very good to know that there is still people that care about helping others without expecting nothing in exchange. If everyone acted like that, things would be much better nowdays. cheers

  • This is the tutorial, that made me a good start in FL studio :D It's been almost a year since I started. watch?v=l4opo74tkCo There is electro house beat I made lately! :)

  • Hey ste1438, I was wondering where I can find swells or how I can make them. Thanks!

  • So Satan moves the horse? lol that is what i heard

  • @rysissio More likely what they heard was "Satan moves my voice".

  • lol sublinal music messages are fucking scary

  • how did your voice turn into karpman lol

  • The wobble bass in your song at the beginning, was it created with a dynamic wobble or a LP-filter wobble? It even sounds like you had more than one wobble effect on it. I find it so hypnotizing and would like to create something similar for a song I'm currently working on. Any details is appreciated ^^

  • Hey, I'm only writing here 'cos I thought it's where you are most likely to read it. I think it would be helpful if you could do a vid. on all the different packages available for purchase in the FL studio shop... going briefly over what they are and which ones you would recommend for beginners, and perhaps for different styles/genres. It can add up to a lot of money and buying the wrong thing would be irritating as hell I imagine... so some guidance would be great.

  • Can you make a video about mastering please? My tracks always sound a little weird. I mean I do everything that other songs have for example in the genre im making but it sounds really different from professional songs... People keep telling me it's from the mastering and stuff but I don't really know how to do mastering. I've been using FL Studio for about 6 months. Thanks

  • @EminentCreatorZ No, Mastering is for the studio, not the home user. Most beginners do not realize this. You need to be an audio engineer, and you need a special environment and the right equipment. Most professional artists have tracks mastered in a studio by a trained technician. It is a fine art in it's self and takes years of experience. As a home user you need to use your ears, practice, and experiment to get a feel for what will make things sound the best.

  • @ste1438 Ok I understand. Thanks. But do you ever get the feeling that your song sounds a little empty even though you have put in all the necessary elements but it still doesn't sound very good. And then you compare it to a professional song with the same or even less elements and it sounds so much better... And I'm not talking about the arrangement of loops or melodies. Just in general. What I am missing?

  • @EminentCreatorZ Yes,Think about what your comparing. Major record labels are multi-million dollar recording facilities that employs the best Studio Engineers in the world, In addition to that, they are recording the best musicians in the world too. You need to try to keep that in perspective - It's like the difference between a Hollywood movie and Home Video. You need to practice and do your best to compete with that, but there is no formula - all you need is experience and patience.

  • @EminentCreatorZ alright i'm speaking of experience cuz i've been there before so i know exactly what you mean, firstly for making house music you HAVE to to use a sound imager which pans/doubles the sound of a specific channel means you make a specific sound wider (Stereo) or narrower (Mono) than the other sound you're using in your track, that should probably fix the emptiness issue, then you need to use compressors and limiters to keep control of all of your sounds individually..

  • @EminentCreatorZ but basically Fl Studio is way easier and influencing when you're producing by ear so you mainly need to learn the basic music theories and do your homework go listen to some tracks of the genre you're tending to produce and listen well then it's all about trial and error just try to match the same EQ's used in that genre, PS there's a couple of plugins for mastering out there, not cheap but very useful, cheers

  • @ste1438 Right... -.-

  • @YOSHY343 Yeah, but he actually put that in there. I think that was meant as a joke :)

  • i would like you to make a video showing how to use or add effects to a song. i have a problem with my beats. when i add many patterns to my beat, some extra disturbing noise pops up which disturbs my beat.can you please also explain that and how i can correct or fix it?

  • another great video man! i thank you for all your knowledge that you share with us!!!!

  • dude u nvr talked about appregerator.

  • I must say your videos are the best i have found too date, i came from a garage band heavy background and honestly after what you have shown me with FL i cant believe i ever used such a primitive program. I eagerly await your next video and cant wait to see what you have to teach on the subject of gross beat. I gotta say i appreciate you taking the time to produce these videos and help aspiring musicians like me broaden their horizons

  • Pro like always. Good job.

  • Hey Ste1438! First off, I would like to thank you for all of your videos! I honestly wouldn't have known what to do without them! I have a question for you. After video #6, there is No Video #7. Did you take it down? Are you in the process of still making it? I mean, I am making terrific music already, but it's always good to learn more things to get better! Can you please write back regarding Video #7. I would really appreciate it. Again, Thank you sincerely. You are a great Teacher!

  • how do you export? when i try its only like 2 sec

    please reply

  • What sigil is that in the lower right corner?

  • On my side it's different. I make something and it seems good. Then stop cause I'm out of inspiration, and come back, check it another day, and it's like: "tell me I'm not the newbie who made that piece of shit?" xD

  • @YannickzTV That happens a lot. The longer you work non-stop, the greater the chances that you will lose your ability to judge your own work. It's just a strange thing that happens sometimes. It's good to take breaks while your creating music to prevent that. Not short quick breaks either - enough time to get back and start fresh. It helps to collaborate too. You can keep each other in check.

  • @YannickzTV I completely agree with Ste, on this. I only started about a week ago, and I feel the same exact way, but I truck on, and it leads me to somewhere good because I am happy working and seeing my creative ideas come to life even if they don't resemble it 100% Trust me, just keep at it. And, I heard zircon say that he started by writing a ton of crap songs, so I think I, and maybe you, are in that stage too. And, it does not matter how slowly you go as long as you don't stop- Confucius

  • @YannickzTV exactly the same thing here. lol ...

  • @YannickzTV Back in the day, when my band were recording, we'd get what we called "Studio head" after hours of listening to the same playback over and over. It was a complete inability to be objective when listening to it back. It happens and you just have to take time out.

NEVER erase anything when in that state of mind as the opposite of what you said can also be true at times. Its part of developing as a musician.

  • @YannickzTV lmao the production gremlins, i swear, you can be making the next big trance hit bigger than caf del mar energy 52, then the production gremlins come out in the night and work it to their fittings (another words fuck it up), few tracks escape the gremlins, but some will manage to escape, the best thing to do is accept these gremlins exist and there is nothing you can do to stop them, as soon as you accept it, you will be confident in making music

  • Comment removed

  • Well ste1438 could u let me know hoe to remove the background music from a song in fl studio. I need the vocals to mix. I am tired searching it but nothing came into my hand so could you please upload on for a tutorial on "How to remove background music from a song"

  • @YOSHY343 i thot this was a special Halloween edition.. its 4 am and im scared now....

  • @brainbasher Yes - it was for Halloween.

  • You should make a video on uning and recording with edson. I'd love to know more about how to use this tool!

  • @dmc9870 Recording vid for Edison would be good. The audio logger in Edison is real useful at times too. Especially when projects get bogged down with too many synths and FX.

  • In which video do you explain the Edison noise reduction feture that you used on the song to isolate the voice? Also thank you so much for uploading these! Your videos are extreemly helpful!

  • @dmc9870 The Edison noise reduction and vocal extractions videos are no longer up. Those were demo videos for an event that has already passed.

  • I really appreciate you taking the time to make all of these tutorials. You have done a great job so far and I am looking foreward to learning more from you.

  • Make a video dedicate to Mastering in FL Studio (or the basics of mastering any song)

  • ooo satan moves my voice

  • Can you make a tutorial about hip hop beats?

  • Ste1438 i want to ask you if you can give me some usefull links for fl studio downloads...other effects more instruments and sounds :)) btw very usefull lessons thanks :]

  • it will be continue?

  • @mrhprr yes - just a little burned out and working on a couple other projects right now, but more coming by the end of the year.

  • @ste1438 I have a terribly ignorant question. How do you change the key from C to like F or D/anything in the piano roll? It just stays on C.

  • wating........

  • I fully agree with the first part .... In making music u must never get back ...

  • hey on Video 5, my Automation clips would not work in pattern mode? They worked in song mode, but not in pattern. Do you know why this is and what can i do to fix it.

    P.S- Great Vids :)

  • @TheSirSkateALot U have to put automation clip in piano rol

  • whan duz video 7 come out???????????????

  • THANKS FOR POSTING YOUR GREAT VIDEOS.

I wonder...is it possible to convert the individual tracks into individual wav files so that I can send them to a studio to mix the separate tracks (ala...seperate snare, bd, synth, audio vocals, audio guitars, bass...et al...INTO SEPARATE WAV FILES)?

After I have finish with a project I'd like to send the wavs to be reassembled as wav files on another DAW and then, mixed and mastered and sent back to me as a completely mastered song. Thanks again.

  • @oneguyincalifornia Yes - render settings. Just turn on separate mixer tracks. You'll get all the mixer tracks separated and a master track (every channel needs to be on a mixer track.). You can also export each track individually by muting tracks in the playlist, but I think separating the mixer tracks is better. It OK to have some instruments mixed too. I think studio Mastering is the best way to go, if you can afford it too.

  • @ste1438 - Thanks so much for that. Okay...HERE IS WHERE I am a bit confused:

I've got a audio clips of vox and gtrs pasted on the playlist...on different assigned channels (of course)...in order to play the song out.

At the same time in the pattern sequencer....those same clips are assigned to separate tracks on my mixer so that I can eq and use plugins for compression and such (mixing)

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TRACKS IN THE PLAY LIST AND THE TRACKS IN THE MIXER?

  • dont know if someone else mentioned it already, but theres a decent ratchet effect in Crazy Train.

  • @Thedrizzle404 That is a Vibra-slap in Crazy Train.
