Thanks for the song and thanks for the translation. I'm familiar with Janna Bichevskaya's version but I'd never seen a translation before. The ending was quite shocking because I wasn't expecting it!
Thank you very much! Actually I have never heard Bichevslkay's version. In my childhood memory this song was associated with Lidya Ruslanova (very old record, from 40s perhaps), her version is very powerful, and yes, shocking. I feel that it is my obligation to provide the translation for ever Russian old song that I post here. I am just sharing my childhood memories, that is basically all. Plus, of course, showing how really cure I am..:) Thanks a lot!
Janna Bichevskaya doesn't sing the final verse either (but adds 2 extra verses). Janna Aguzarova sang it 3+ weeks ago on New Years Eve and didn't sing the final verse either!
I originally found this page looking for information after hearing Aguzarova's version. Thanks for introducing me to Lidia Ruslanova. The last few days I've been listening to her songs and reading all about her life story. Very interesting!
Oh, thanks! As far as I remember L.Ruslanova, suffered all the horrors of Stalinism, inspite of her enormous popularuty, or maybe because of it. The final verse , as tragical as it is, simply cannot be removed, because without it, the song simply does not make any sense! It is all about passion, after all!
Excellent Sima... just wonderful!!! You did this so beautifully, and it sounds great with the background music!! Brava!!!! Lovely images you put together too!
Oh, thanks! I am so glad you liked it! The music was too fast for this tragical song, but I could not slow it down, my musical editing program does not do that. And i have no room on this old computer to install another one. So, i had to work with what i had. But, I tell you, in the song , where she jumps into waves, the picture of two white seagals is shown, and that brings tears in my own eyes..finally, two souls are released...
It's a beautiful and sad song my sweet friend, love can be so tragic and can make us so desparate. . And pictures are wonderful, breath taking. Thank you. Hugs for you! Luba
Thanks, Anitochka..:) Yes, it is kinda my kind of the song, a passonate and tragic love story. I was lucky to find some kind of musical accompaniment...Thank you so much!
Your voice sounds the most powerful singing this song :)!!! And the video is combination of tenderness and big passion... From all your posts here i love this the best my Simochka :) Congrats!
It's an amazing video. What a powerful, tragic song! (It seems to me this kind of theme is very Russian!) The images are wonderful especially the paintings. I wish I knew the names and the artists! What kind of dress are they wearing?
Народ песня замечательная!!!!
Слава Богу что есть такие голоса!

Лидия Русланова Окрасился месяц багрянцем
Interesting, that in Ruslanova's version "the stabbing" part was omitted..I guess was not fit for Communist society.
