  • check the right side look for your fuel regulator these usually hit the exhaust and start melting platic which starts the smell of gas i had a friend with a 02 we replaced the hose and put clamps on it and it runs ok no gas smell

  • I don't see a video after this one...what happened with the Taurus? I have an 2002 Taurus SES and it rides fine but it's starting to take a long time to start and I also smell gas sometimes. Also when I am trying to pick up speed quickly once it gets around 50-60 mph it MAY jerk and hesitate; once I let off the acc and press it again, it's like it never jerked. What do you think

  • why would u run 93 in this?

  • Catalytic converter... TRUST ME!! Easy trick (and sooooo fucking fun. Get under this beast and unbolt the exhaust from the front of the converter. Hop in and fire her up... she will be FUCKING LOUD!! Punch it and watch it hit the rev limiter. Problem solved...

  • Distributer cap, I don't think it would be a spark plug wire, burnt valve maybe. Man it could be so many things. Could also be a clog in the fuel line, but I think that would set off a trouble code. Good luck man, keep us posted when you figure it out.

  • @supersnot4 doesn't have a distributer. it has a coil pack witch has been replaced. doubt it would be a burn valve cus the car only has 50k on it and my fuel lines have been replaced. everything people have told me it could be iv already replaced i while ago. iv put about 2500 in the car just replace alot of old dry rotted stuff and burnt out sensors and rusty plugs and so on and i cant sell it cus on one will take it for what its worth best offer i got was 1500.=/

  • @BeeABaw Ugh that would be frustrating. Intake manifold gaskets maybe? All I can think of otherwise is the ECU. Don't rule out a burnt valve, it is very possible at 50k. What brand of gasoline do you usually put in it?

  • @supersnot4 Shell... 93 octane

  • @BeeABaw So good gasoline, weird. But 93 octane is kind of pointless just so you know. I'm pretty sure the Taurus only calls for 87.

  • @supersnot4 His converter is stopped up. Hear that hiss?

  • @qwertywrangler Hmm that could definitely be it. Only problem I see with that is that i would usually set off a check engine light, but it is very possible.

  • @supersnot4 It will not set off the check engine light in almost any case.

  • @qwertywrangler A faulty catalytic converter will almost always set off a check engine light. I have one on in my '96 GMC Jimmy right now. $80 for a new one, I need to stop procrastinating and get that fixed already.

  • @supersnot4 It's a fucking '96 Jimmy! Good luck getting that light to turn off. I run a salvage yard, and I take in 2-5 a day, from people tired of paying through the nose to be OBD compliant. This dude's issue turned out to be fuel related. And yes, $80? Get off yer arse, and FIX IT YO!!! It's only money.

  • @qwertywrangler Fine I'll take it in tomorrow. I'm a Ford guy myself, I know all too well the problems of these things. But $300 for a '96 Jimmy with 90,000 miles, I can't really complain. There is nothing else wrong with it. I still prefer my F-250 though.

  • @supersnot4 That's the spirit.

  • @supersnot4 actually it calls for 85... ya i know. But i did find out the prob it was the gas i was using.... for some reason my car does not like 93 octane. iv been putting 87 back in for the last 2 weeks and now its perfect again no miss or anything so im stumped. anyways thanks for you help.

  • @BeeABaw Wow, I've never heard of anything other than a diesel running worse on higher octane, unless it's running on racing fuel. 93 is pretty far from 85 though. Glad it was a stupid simply fix!

  • @BeeABaw That's crazy... glad it worked out.

  • showed it to my brother, i'll see what he says

  • @FatGuyWithAKatana ok thanks =)

  • its could be the spark plug coils

  • @integraz32lover already been replaced about 2 months ago.

  • @BeeABaw i think it might be one of the sensors or some thing to do with the fuel system

  • @integraz32lover all emissions sensors have been replaced along with injectors and fuel pump and filter.

  • @BeeABaw did you just replace all these?cuz mabe if they were just replaced then i think it might not have been done right or mabe if you got cheap Chinese parts then they might be malfunctioning

  • @integraz32lover no just over the last year i replaced them all. i don't think they are Chinese parts since its all dealer work and they used MotorCraft parts.

  • @BeeABaw now i really dont know what it could be cuz i have already listed every possible problem that i know of.you should just go to a mechanic

  • @integraz32lover i took it to 3 ford dealers and they couldn't figure it out either. the one closest to my house said it might be the Cam Timing Sensor but because the OBM was not giving off any trouble codes they could not determine the cause, and to replace the sensor was going to be 800 dollars and he didn't want me to spend that kinda money and it not be the problem. and now its getting so bad that when it goes past 3k and misses the RPM's almost drop to about 1500 before coming back to life

  • @BeeABaw yea the problem your car has is not that common,You could try asking a yt channel named Ericthecarguy,i dont know if you have heard of him but if not then you should ask him cuz he has helped me out in the past and i suggest him to you

  • That's really weird

  • @Rarrin9378 haha! Rarrin i was hoping for some more feed back other than thats weird. XD

  • @BeeABaw hahaha I was really hoping to help but I'm not 100% sure what it is, I think it could be the spark plug coils like what that guy down there said. That's all I can say. lol

  • @Rarrin9378 all been replaced.
