One more question . . . If my directions say to "rib 145 stitches, wrap 1, turn," do I turn after 146 stitches and then slip the stitch from the left needle to the right?
@familyroth Good question. But no. You work 145 sts, turn, and slip the first st. Although it could be done either way, for the sake of one st it doesn't make a big difference. But this is the way I've always done it.
Thank you so much for responding . . . and so quickly, too! My search for instructions has finally ended with your video and I can now finish the sweater. Keep posting. You're great!
Much thanks for uploading this great video. I have been looking all over the internet for detailed information on doing short rows when doing 1x1 ribbing for a shawl collar. I love the simplicity of your technique, but would I need to make any changes when making short rows in ribbing? Much thank again.
@familyroth No need to change the technique for any kind of ribbing. I've used this on a ribbed shawl collar, and had no problems. I tried to make sure that my turns happened on knit sts, and with 1x1 rib that is easy to do, it is only the difference of one stitch.
Thank you for replying,Luna! I have used that in the past. finally found a heel that works for me, but will use your technique for needs elsewhere! :^)
Good video! You've got nice lighting and clear explanations. It's REALLY helpful to see 3 different examples all at once! I understand them better that way. Thanks!

I love that your technique is so seamless! It's beautiful. I wish I could learn to apply it to a heel; sadly, I can't figure it out!

@BeStrixed I do the following for every sock.
Work your heel flap.
Example: 32 sts in heel flap. Subtract 6 = 26. Divide by 2 = 13, add the 6 to one half = 19. That is your starting #.
Heel turn-
R1: slip 1, K18 (= 19 sts.) SSK, K1, turn.
R2: slip 1, purl 6 (width of smallest part of sock heel), P2tog, P1. turn.
All RS rows: Slip 1, K to 1 st before gap, SSK, K1, turn.
All WS rows: Slip 1, P to 1 st before gap, P2tog, P1, turn.
Work until no more sts, finish on a RS row.

Thank you very much for showing us the differences. It does seem your method is best. I will be adding to my favorites.
