I believe she killed him, because she can't help it. Her dark passenger takes control and kills innocent (sales)men, that explains the hill of suitcases at the end (4:00). The other men were just trying to save him...

@milfoc The boxes of shoes have a metaphorical meaning towards the malicious nature of love , it symbolizes how throughout her life , she has gone through many , many men , all have been subject and killed by her poisonous kiss, and to what extent of pain will she have to endure to finally find love. It's a very powerful message.

I'm guessing there's a play on words here -- I think she was supposed to be a 'black widow' spider. Black Widows are very poisonous, and are thought to [sometimes, at least] - eat the male spider once they're done mating.

I think she kills him because she knows that if they stay together he is going to get hurt so if she kills him with a kiss she isn't leaving him and he isn't getting beat to death. If you were to put the teenage love song scenario in there, she is killing him before her father can make him suffer. I know it totally ruins the beauty of the song but it's kind of like in of mice and men where George kills lenny before curly gets there and makes him suffer.

it's not because the spider is "poisonous", it's supposed to be a black widow. that's why the back is a bulb shape.

black widow females kill the males, which is where the name comes from. a black widow is someone who murders their husband/boyfriend.
