  • i think i have the same problem.

basically the click doesn't register on mine. and only when you enable 'tap to click' in trackpad preferences, will you be able to select anything. however, the actual click mechanism does not work when clicked. I am very certain that this is a hardware fault (whether it be repairable or require replacement, i don't know yet), but i am still investigating it. authorised mac repair store in Australia quoted me ~$220. which is outrageous.

    might try myself

  • HERE IS THE FIX!!! check it out, it works!!!

  • i have the same problem. have you found a fix yet?

  • @MrGizmo757 unfortunately no =/ I've been looking for a fix on the web for three weeks but I can't find one.....If you go to apple's webpage, then to support and search for this problem you'll find many other people with the same problem, but no one have a solution for this, it's a hardware problem....I sent an email to apple but they didn't answer me!!....this is driving me crazy!....I need a fix for this !

  • @oastorgamartinez I think i just fixed mine last night actually. i took apart my Macbook Pro and thare was dust everywhere even little things that looked like gravel. i carefully removed the battery and the track pad from the notebook and blasted the hell out it with air. put it all back together and i haven't had the issue since. i think dust gets under the contacts on the track pad and when you slick you are fighting against the debris from the dust. visually it wasn't that dirty but it fix

  • I am having the same problem!

  • I can only push down the bottom right corner on my trackpad. Have to use a mouse or touch without pushing the pad :/

  • @AITechReviews

i love mac and apple products

but this is rlly common with mac laptops..

  • on my mac a lot of the time the trackpad doesnt work when i click but also randomly sometime it randomly clicks by itself mostly when i typing how do i fix this?

  • i have a similar problem. Is as if the sprigthat holds the pad up which allows you to press it down has failed. ive had to switch to touch clicking in the meantime. Hopefully warranty will cover repair

  • i have one were when i swipe down with 2 fingers to scroll down in a window instead it does expose' and sometimes the three finger swipe to fo back and foward doesn't work as well. I don't get what going on because Ive check Disk Utilty and I even repaired it and check everything and everything is fine but yet it happend over and over again I always have to restart it. I'm getting anoyed and I don't have Apple Care anymore so im fucked!!!

  • i know whats wrong the trackpad sensor is loose thats why it had the click problem i have the same problem as well

  • im freaking nervous my mbp 13 's trackpad is also facing this problem

  • @matthewosit me too, the right click doesnt work!

  • Hi. How you fix it? I have the same thing happing with my macbook pro 15''. :/

  • I'm currentley facing this problem too. Does this happen to all 13'inch Macbook Pros????

  • i have a question, when you took it to the apple store did yoi get your harddrive data erased? or did you get it back with apps and files intact?

  • Well, no. I'm pretty sure it will get worse and worse with time to the point that it just doesn't register the click. You should take it to your apple retail store and get it repaired, I got mine repaired for the same reason. I got it back in about 4-5 days.

  • @AresSystems they dont erase any of the data on the macbook do they?
