You can't fault his game, so you cherry-pick and take stuff out of context. Only thing Crosby truly messed up is that he chirped too much his first year; the Pens vets took him aside, told him to STFU, and taught him how things are done in the pros (he came straight from juniors at 18 and didn't know better). After that, you barely heard a squeak out of him. But that's all the haters can harp on, that he's a whiner. Never mind how hard he works to improve his game at both ends of the ice.

Alot of that was not his finest moments, however who else in the NHL isn't guilty of the same. NO NHL player is a saint. He should have been penalized on all of those infractions. And yes recently he's had a glass skull issue but look at the rest of the league and the man beast Chris Pronger who is out for the rest of the year as well. As fans we just need to realize that the game has changed and the players have changed as well. Maybe part of his legacy is concussion awareness.

@Moonball55 correction, datsyuk has 2 stanley cups. datsyuk is much more gifted on the defensive end because he's tougher and more persistent on the forecheck. i would argue that he also has better hands and puck control. i would honestly build a team around him because, although sid is much more adept at scoring goals, pavel lifts the play of those around him with his great distribution. he sets up his team better and works harder on both ends, has a better attitude too
