its so true it's unbelievable XD i told people i don't drink or smoke and they were all like " OMG you don't drink you mean you won't drink even when you turn 18 OMFG"repeatedly
=-=; they say it like im dying and have no life which just makes me think their addicted to drink which i will never understand cus it tastes disgusting your basically saying you'll eat shit if it gets you high cus if you don't like the taste the only other reason is to be drunk and i don't want to be either
The funniest part is that alcohol and nicotine are drugs :P Don't pool all drugs together though!
LSD, DMT, Psilocybin and Mescaline (psychedelics family) and marijuana shouldn't be getting a bad rap because of heroin (the flagship of every good anti-drug campaign), cocaine, crystal meth etc.
Also, marijuana is psychoactive, just as alcohol and caffeine are. Unlike alcohol (don't know about caffeine) you can't OD on marijuana.
@NaxNax96 Also, alcohol has all kinds of words unique to it (sober, inebriated, drunk, alcoholic etc.) because it's a drug humans all around the globe have traditionally consumed for millennia. So, instead of anti-alcohol campaigns we get "safe driving" campaigns. Hypocrisy at its finest. Don't fear the word "drug", look into the substance, see what it does and then decide if it's worth your money, time etc.
P.S.: All that said, I still don't trust anyone to sell me lsd, dmt etc.
@NaxNax96 Your argument fails because you're assuming that antiquity and popularity demonstrate legitimacy. We can see numerous examples of why that line of reasoning fails. I "pool" all drugs together as you put it, because regardless of whether some are physiologically inoccuous the essential concept is the same: that our intrinsic senses are insufficient and we must turn to altering them to compensate for it. This is what I mean by "harm" as it demonstrates abnegation and thus weakness
@NaxNax96 participation in using any of the above is shear example of cowardice; regardless of what degree of physical or relative psychological effects. I use the term relative as many people fail to comprehend the idea that turning to such substances is a harm on its own.
@Mahmood42978 I wholeheartedly disagree. You are doing the very thing I was trying to prevent: pooling all drugs together. They aren't all crutches, tools with which to escape reality and hide your head in the sand. Each one does something different (or not so different) for each other. Some are lethal poisons, some can be useful tools or just sources of entertainment (or nightmares). Please don't demonize what you don't know.
@Mahmood42978 Not every substance is a pacfier (a "downer"), but I see your point. So long as you don't support the removal of everyone's right to do with their body whatever they wish, be it due to weakness of will or otherwise, then we have no quarrel really. I'm not trying to convince you that everybody should be tripping all the time or anything -- just that so long as they're not harming anyone, they should be allowed to. Just as people are allowed to get morbidly fat ...or commit suicide.
@NaxNax96 r; you're assuming that pacification means "downer". Which I never endorsed. As for the rights argument, The concept of "rights" is a manufactured one; rights are things invented by people, not some primal order of nature. I don't believe in anyone's rights to anything. However, I have no genuine interest in the lives of people who use intoxicants; just as long they don't expect me to cowtow to them or sacrifice my resources for their sake. I'm fine
@gayg1rl The concept behind the group was based around the straight edge lifestyle, which promotes and abides to abstinence and discipline - primarily no smoking, drinking, or drugs. (from Wikipedia)

@NaxNax96 In other words you're confirming precisely what I stated before; they're pacifiers, indulgence for the weak minded.
I don't demonize; I pity and see those that pursue them as mentally inferior
