In the US it is a stante sanctioned law that under some circumstances a person can be condemmed to death if they are proved beyond reasonable doubt and judged by a jury of their peers to have committed a terrible crime such as premeditated murder. There are opportunities for appeal and the state appoints legal council to defend the accused.

Plus, there is no fair trial, all that they asked for was "two witnesses" who were forced and blackmailed into testifying against the poor woman. It is completely incomparable to the way crime is dealt with here in the US, (not that we've got it all figured out) but there is more justice and freedom here. And due to it, this country has been at peace for many years.

@jjohn2k and in regards to sunna.. The narrations about stoning in Bukhary (a book where prophet's sayings are said to be gathered) are full of contradictions and don't make sense that some scholars believe they were made up and attributed to the prophet. The proof is that they contradict Qur’an legislation which is clear: flogging. Any Islamic country doing otherwise is not following the teachings of Quar'an.

there are verses ABOUT stoning; but only narrating how non-believers threatened to stone believers (Hud 91, Miriam 46, Dukhan 20, Yassine 18, Kahf 20, Shua’ra 116). There is no legislation of stoning in Qur'an. and the narrations in sunna, many scholars believe they were made up and attributed to the prophet ..they simply contradict Quar'an and make no sense.

Do you think that it's just a one off act? How can so many people come together to perform these cowardly acts? It's not as though a murderer captures a woman and takes her to a seclued place to murder her. These things are being done in public. Have a look on the net, there are even clips taken by some of these animals with phones

Please read the Quar'an..YES there IS stoning, but NOT in islam! please try to understand the difference between God's words and ppl acts in the name of religion. The Truth is in the book, i challange you to find one verse where God gives an order for ppl to stone anyone at all! i totally agree with you those are cowardly acts. NOBODY has the right to do that. it's a crime

From Wikipedia. "in the collected sayings of Mohammed and his followers, the hadith, it is mentioned many times; in the Sunni Sahih Bukhari, stoning is mandated by Mohammed at least 34 times"

@tonyvjames Again there are hadiths that were made up and attributed to the Prophet and many of those are in Sunna books like Bukhari. proof is they simply contradict the Qur'an and what God said about the Prophet.
Iran can call itelf whatever. Islam doesn't say stone, if they r doing it they r committing a crime. When an Australian commits a crime do we call all Australians criminals!? u can't judge a religion by its follower's acts. Again there is a diff between God's words, and ppl's acts

@eyebearah I am against stoning. I am against people taking the law into their own hands. In the US it is a stante sanctioned law that under some circumstances a person can be condemmed to death if they are proved beyond reasonable doubt and judged by a jury of their peers to have committed a terrible crime such as premeditated murder. There are opportunities for appeal and the state appoints legal council to defend the accused.
If you think this is the same as the US system, that's a bit sad

Cold-blooded murderers/rapists do not learn any other way, most no longer have a conscience.Prisons are full,and we cannot always afford to pay their stay. When they are released, they find new innocent victims. Many will suffer and die if these people not be put to death,citizens are under threat when such people are on the loose.Adultery is different, though it may be immoral, we have no right to do such things to anyone.

Plus, there is no fair trial, all that they asked for was "two witnesses" who were forced and blackmailed into testifying against the poor woman. "Voices of women do not matter here" as stated in the movie. It is completely incomparable to the way crime is dealt with here in the US, (not that we've got it all figured out) but there is more justice and freedom here. And due to it, this country has been at peace for many years.

If ou had to witness a killing, would you rather see someone get an injection and fall asleep and die, or witness a mob drag a woman into the street, bury her in a hole to her waist and tie her hands. Then have her children and family and others throw stones at her till she dies??
Are you seriously suggesting that it's all the same? In the US, the judge doesn't say that the person is being killed for the glory of god.

@eyebearah If someone murders someone else I believe they don't have the right to live and society deserves to be protected against them. I'm not talking about solders in a war but a person acting outside of the law of a state.
I personally think islam is an abhorance and disgusting sect and wish that murdering pedophile mohammed never existed but if you feel the need to believe in some imaginary being then you have problems already without having to wonder which system of idiocy to choose.

I researched a bit on Islam and found some interesting stuff. If you type this in your browser: "Women Worth Less than Men - TheReligionofPeace" there is a bunch of stuff from the Quran about women. I am not surprised that women are treated like cows (or worse) over there. Poor girls, as if any of us have a choice to be born male or female. I like to think of God as my Father, I would never want a father who looks at me only as a means of reproduction.
