God intended sex to be between a man and woman in marriage. I am a virgin and I plan on being one until my wedding night, and I believe men should be the same way.
I think losing your virginity is healthy if done the right way. Obviously if you rush into doing it with someone or he/she is just the wrong person, it could turn out bad. It can be a big thing, and a big regret. But that doens't mean that sex should be avoided at all costs when you're a teenager, and that doesn't mean that if a girl has sex when she's a teenager, she's a bad example and a slut.
I regretted losing my virginity first of all. It always seemed like I had a power over others and when I lost it (at 18) felt like all the rest and no longer "special". However, saying I was a virgin got me laid so many times afterwards. Tons of women wanted to be my first it was quite funny. Eventually I had stopped using it as a line but now wonder why I did.
Why would a guy wait until his wedding night to lose his virginity if he's able to before? He'd bust a nut before he even got his pants off, and ruin the night.
@4ingP Exactly...that would've been my worst nightmare when I was younger, a guy who wasn't experienced. Egads. I really don't get the whole "value to virginity" thing. Don't have a problem...necessarily...with people who DO value it, but don't act like that value transfers to me or anyone else.
The reason these discusions even come up is because americans are living a very boring and unsatisfying life. Go to work, come home, turn on the tv, kill your evening, go to sleep, do the same tommorrow. In other countries, people constantly have thoughts about getting food, therefore they don't think about stuff like this, they have more important things on their mind. When you are trying to survive, losing your virginity will be the last thing on your mind. That day will come on its own.
It's women who've told their daughters that "men won't respect them" if they "give it away" (instead of selling 'it'?) Before contraception, loss of virginity might mean another mouth to feed that the man would normally be responsible for but has avoided by not marrying. Loss can hurt girls, so they are more sexually cautious. Feminists are hypocrites: they pretend men (not women) 'suppress' female sex - then call sexually active equal women 'objects' too stupid to know their inferiority to men.
lol, loose women (women that have been with a man), are against Virginity, because they are Bankrupt of their virginity. Don't let a loose woman (like the feminists in this video) influence you against outstanding behavior and responsibility of keeping your virginity, it is HONORABLE. They no longer have THIS particular honor, which btw, does NOT make them WORTHLESS, but by all means makes them far less HONORABLE.
Im not a virgin and lost it to someone i met for a total of about an hour. I didn't really care about it cos i used a Condom. The people who say its only for marriage need to think really hard.
Does a 20 min marriage ceremony make you better potential parents than before? No
Can you deal with sex any better than before? No
Do you know safe sex any better? No
Is your reputation any cleaner than non virgins? No reason to be
@mrdojob What if you got an STD or she got pregnant? Is it really worth the risk? Just a few minutes could change the rest of your life. If you wait until marriage, you don't have to worry about these things. Also, condoms can break. They're not perfect.
@kagurarox Are you saying that married people never have STDs or unintended pregnancies? Marriage can be a wonderful thing (it makes me very happy) but I don't think a wedding ring is all that good for birth control.
@TrixieFilms Of course married people can get STDs and unplanned pregnancies. but if more people waited until marriage to have sex, the STD rate would go down, as well as the teen pregnancies as well as abortions. But who do you think is more qualified to be parents? Two teenagers in high school or a married couple? There's more commitment in marriage than dating (people usually date in order to find someone to marry) so they can support each other better than two teens.
@kagurarox If more people had access to actual fact-based sex-ed, then those who chose to become sexually active would have the tools for prevention. The failure rates taught in abstinence classes are for improperly used contraception and safer sex practices. They're improperly used because no one gave them actual information. Some people might choose to wait until marriage to become sexually active anyway, which is totally cool too. It's informed decision making that empowers people.
@TrixieFilms I'm not against teaching people about contraceptives, etc, but if sex ed emphasized the importance of abstinence, then maybe more teens would wait until they're married. If they knew how hard it was taking care of a baby, all the nasty details about STDs, and the fact that sex does not equal love, the teen pregnancy and abortion rate in this country would go down a lot. And many people are educated about sex, but they still get pregnant/STDs. More abstinent teens=less teen parents.
@TrixieFilms Also, women have more to lose if they have an unwanted pregnancy out of marriage--who's the one that has to carry the baby in their body/have to go through an abortion? The woman. Feminists should be totally for abstinence until marriage. If a guy can say no to sex for you, (even though he wants to have sex) then he obviously cares about YOU rather than wanting to just get into your pants. In that situation, the woman has the power: no sex until commitment.
@kagurarox Feminists are totally for women making their own decisions about their sex lives based on accurate information. Abstinence from sex is a part of comprehensive sex education programs that include info on safe sex.
I'm not sure why you suggest women should only have sex within committed relationships. Some women, like some men, enjoy sex for its own sake. Other women, like other men, feel a commitment is necessary for a sexual relationship. It's all good, if it's consensual and informed
@TrixieFilms If you have sex outside of a commited relationship, (ex: one night stand), then there can be huge consequences--like I mentioned before, you could get STDs, get pregnant, and what if you don't even know who the father is? Sex is not just a physical act to enjoy without consequences. It's an intimate act--not only physical, but emotional as well. Sex with someone you love is better than with someone you don't. Sex is worth waiting for-it's a precious thing to share with someone.
I got married at the age of 29 and was a virgin when I got married. My husband was a virgin as well. I also considered joining a religious order which would have meant lifelong celebacy. I always viewed my virginity not as something I was waiting to lose (as if I were bored in a waiting room), but rather that sex was for the married which I didn't consider the path for everyone to take.
wow a lot of this is really one sided. it's not about sexual liberation really, a lot of it for women is emotional attachment. bah. this piece isn't so much about how it is important as it is it's definition and that it's not a big deal. it kinda is! letting yourself be so open and exposed with someone you care about (and hopefully cares about you) is a big step! it shouldn't be taken so lightly. or as lightly as this clip seems to make it.
Ummmm........... Both men AND women are prone to emotions, feelings(same thing) and attachments, the only difference being which emotions each are prone to. Basically, men are wired to react as if they are superior (not sure about other men, but I am), which means aggressiveness, outrage at being belittled and contempt. Women, being more physically diminutive, are more prone to develop submissive feelings (attachment, submissiveness, fear) which basically fits together for a working society.
Why women can´t have sex with a lot of people and men can?!
Someone starts to have sex when she/he feels she/he is ready to. Not when religion says it should be. I really don´t know why virginity means "morality" to people.
The fact that someone had sex before marriage does not mean they are "whores". Also, why "whore" can be just used for women?!
@MalevolentKreation Women have more to lose--they can get pregnant, but a guy can't. So do you think if a 12 year old is "ready" to have sex they should go ahead and do it? Most young people are not ready for the consequences of sex.
Why women can´t have sex with a lot of people and men can?!
This standard mainly arose because of biological differences. A woman could get pregnant (although it's not as big an issue today w birth control). Also if a woman had several sexual partners at around the same time and got pregnant - especially before paternity testing - then there would be a real awkward situation. (This is also the main reason why polygamy almost never exists between 1 woman and several guys)
@Flare400 You're stupid. Sorry but, "This standard mainly arose because of biological differeinces" .... "then there would be a real awkward situation". Social awkwardness is not a biological factor. It people were meant to be monoamorous then their vagina/penis would only work for one person... Biologically speaking.
The only reason "Women can't have sex with a lot of people and men can?!" is purely a construct created by society. Every individual (woman or man) should do what they want.
A guy being concerned whether the child is his or not is not a "purely social construct". A self-respecting man would want to be reasonably sure that the child is his before committing enormous resources to raising that child. Before birth control and before paternity testing the only way to do that would be to maintain monogamy.
It is not quite as relevant today in the West, but there was a very practical reason for such standards.
@Flare400 While that may well be true for many men past and present, the larger issue that men, generally speaking, could have sex with (and maybe even impregnate) other women with impunity. Premarital sex was not a capital offense for men, in fact it was believed to be a necessity. A woman's sexuality was limited and under the total control of her father or her husband. That double standard is a social construct.
If the woman got pregnant out of marriage, and the man responsible couldn't be found, ultimately it would be up to her father to help her support her new child.
Men couldn't get laid with impunity either. Most people lived in small communities where everyone knew one another. Unless the guy was in a bigger town with prostitutes, he could be found out and usually be forced to marry and support the girl he impregnated anyway.
While it is unfortunate that it is the woman who was generally measured to a stricter standard, it was the woman and her family that would suffer the greater consequences of an extramarital pregnancy. It would also be harder to prove the man was responsible, while the woman would always be the one left with the child.
Some things back then were egregious (like spousal abuse and sexual abuse) but sexual liberation, as we've come to know it today, could never have existed back then.
Skirting sexual intercourse for other side bars of sex does not make you a virteous woman, it's in the heart and morals and attitude about the order of how and when and why one stays a virgin. you girls are kidding yourselves, A hore is a hore and they got that way having skirted intercourse
Being technacally a virgin has nothing to do with being a virteous woman, A hore can be a virgin who thinks she has beaten the stigma by having various other forms of sex. She is fooling herself . KEEP in mind, a hore,or loose girl, became that way , starting off with skirting intercourse. So i'd say there are more hores today, than ever in history
@TheEndtymsnatzal It's admirable to abstain from sex to focus on spiritual matters but not everyone who isn't a virgin or who has various forms of sex is a "hore" Saying stuff like that is pretentious, prideful and hateful- those definitely aren't characteristics of a "virtuous woman", either. Take a look at yourself before you point fingers at others.
virgin is a word created by men wanting to dominate women! Have you realized it was never men whose so called virginity was to be guarded but the woman's. Women for years have been taught that sex is pretty much a chore and the only reason to have it is to make babies with a husband! be damned if you are not married.
@darthsun666 : "virgin is a word created by men wanting to dominate women!"
That's true. But the rest of your comment tells me you don't understand the original reason: Paternity. Deep within the male psyche is a fear of being cuckholded--and the costs (financial and emotional) of raising another man's child. To marry a "virgin" was at least assurance that the woman wasn't pregnant coming into the marriage. That is the real original basis of "virginity concerns."
I don't necessarily believe in staying a virgin until marriage, I think if you find that someone special that you want to share that first time with, that you won't regret later on, then go for it. Its just that sex to me is a very special thing, I wouldn't want to give it to just anyone.
I think its unnecessary for girls to make actual pledges to stay virgins, its their hymen, its their choice. If you're mature enough to have sex then you're mature enough to deal with the mess after.
I agree, also those pledges don't work and I find it very backwards and unfair that it's always geared towards girls. I also feel that if you want to wait until you're married you have to find someone like that as well, because that can put a lot of pressure on a relationship. It's like ok we're dating, so does this mean we're going to get married? I feel like it would be a lot of pressure, but that's just me and that's why it's important for both people to agree.
we make sex such a big deal!! virginity is not real!! can u find virginity? the hymen u say? ummm a rowdy bus or train ride can break that shit - a horseback ride..etc penetration does not equal loss of virginity -since not all people like lesbians penetrate - so why dont we use our brains from now on and stop putting women as the victim that has to either be a virgin or be subject to being called a whore and stop putting sex so high! we all do it u assholes!men have sex with someones daughter!
i'm a guy and it feels like i'm the only one oppossed to having pre-marital sex. the idea that your wife has had dicks all over her and in and out, thats just dirty, i guess most ignore that thought, ignorance is bliss
Hell yeah, I feel the same way, I want a virgin for my wife cuz I don't want some bitch that has been getting it from any number of bastards, but then again how am I going to know if she didn't do anything else with them...
well you can't actually know if a girl is actually a virgin. People will argue that when it is her 'first time' she should bleed because her hymen broke. But because some women arn't born with a hymen or has broken it from intense sports or from using tampons. She just has to be truful to you. But seriously dude I would doubt a lot girls are still virgins.
It is ridiculous how people are judged based on their sexual experiences. Over the internet, people would probably say "oh you must be hideous" because not only have I never had sex but I haven't had the opportunity to do so even if I wanted to. Sex does not say who a person is. I just feel that sex is something beautiful and special and that's why I want to wait, I am not prude or disgusted by the idea, so people shouldn't judge me because I am a virgin just as not for being a Christian.
Most americans for some reason are obsessed with sex (just an observation, but I think it's true). And then come videos like these, just pointless blah blah. What's the big deal? If you wanna be a virgin, go ahead, if not, do what you need to do :D It's kind of annoying seeing these convos...and really ridiculous.
Honestly it's a blessing and not a curse. I've never met anyone (sexually active) that's ever advised me to do it--quite the reverse actually. And I honestly (I know this may sound prudish) think that for the woman in our most naturalm sense (prone to emotions, feelings, attachments) having multiple partners isn't good for the psyche--that's just my opinion. Men unfortunately are often raised to shield emotions and to "be a MAN"--too often they're guided by other ill-guided men and so...
@VIRGINANDTHECITY Ummmm........... Both men AND women are prone to emotions, feelings(same thing) and attachments, the only difference being which emotions each are prone to. Basically, men are wired to react as if they are superior (not sure about other men, but I am), which means aggressiveness, outrage at being belittled and contempt.
Here's the difference between girls and guys when it comes to virginity: 1) guys see it as a game and compete to see who loses it first 2) girls see virginity as meaningful and either blow it off like little sluts or keep it because they have a scrap of pride for themselves and God. I see nothing wrong with not doing it as a woman why would you want to waste it on some fugly guy anyways? Just save it!
WOw! Ignorance is not bliss.. They should do some soul searching... Why is it that the idea of "me me me and me" is so okay now? What happened to self control & self respect? What happened to sex is for 'marriage'-intimacy with their spouse & only sharing it with them.. no other.. & being open to babies??? People now are so selfish & SO self absorbed. No wonder people of all ages are committing suicide or horrible crimes. Cause they can't control them selves. They demand "Gimme more"
interesting...IMO, i strongly believe that virginity is the most beautiful gift a person could give to his/her spouse. Society has changed the minds of people, making them believe that losing their virginity while a teenager is cool...what's cool about having a baby at an early age? what's cool about seeing a child (teen mom) care for a younger child (baby)?
I agree with on a lot of that, except for the idea that having a baby at a younger age is cool. Age at first marriage is just older so their are actually less teenage births now then many years in the past.
having sex is nothing to be ashamed of! i lost my virginity @ 16 and im not goin 2 apologise to anyone. no-one shud b presured into doin in its something you feel and at the time it felt right. its a way of expressing th will to be close to someone. its not the number of guys uve slept with that judges whether ur a slut or not its your atitude towards sex. if u throw urself at everyone thts cheap but if u go with partners you know and r cose to well thts fine and not slutty @ all
saving sex for marriage is the decision not to addict oneself to sexual pleasure or give up your body for someone to use. It is about respecting oneself and others enough to see them as a person, not as their ability to give you pleasure. Saving sex for marriage ensures we choose good spouses and have lasting marriages.
Virginity IS important...these women on this video are a bunch of no-brained whores. Anyone who engages in pre-marital sex is not only polluting their own bodies but also playing russian roulette with an innocent life (creating a baby) in an uncommitted relationship. They don't care about life....they only care about their selfish desires and crotch. Play with fire, get burned. Both men and women these days are like hypocritical pigs. Stay clean, love & respect yourself and your future spouse.
I wonder if there are any non-Christians who are wild about late virginity. The good things about it are a lack of STDs, a lack of snotnosed kids, a lack of partners who are all wrong for you and that God might like you better for it. Otherwise, you´ll probably feel the lack of sex as an unsatisfied hunger.
I feel this video is making women who want to wait for the right person feel guilty so that girls who want to be sexually active don't. I don't think the issue that needs to be addressed here is what virginity means or the role of marriage, but rather its a personal choice about whether you want your first sexual experience to be with someone you care about or something that happens when you're drunk at a party.
What I'm really more interested in is letting people make their own decisions without judgment (whether it's with someone they care about OR drunk at a party). We need honest and open conversation about sexuality, because it seems so many of our decisions (and reactions) are based on distorted media messages, bad science and sexism.
So if we look down on girls who get drunk and lose it at parties and have kids out of wedlock, that's being judgemental?? Whatever happened to common sense! I wouldn't want these people teaching MY daughters!
I think people need to be real about choices. If you want to choose to wait to have sex to marriage, than that's fine, its someone's choice. But if someone wants to have sex, they shouldn't feel guilty about wanting to have sex.
Our sex education programs in school only promote abstinence, and while that is important, its the same thing as saying no to drugs, saying no to sex through educational programs is not going to work. Having comprehensive sex ed is the only way in my eyes.
Virginity is overrated. There's a lot of pressure to "wait" for the right guy..well I was coerced and manipulated as a teen by a guy who didn't acknowledge me afterwards, I was absolutely broken..but I'm getting better and this video helps me realize society is placing the burden of shame and guilt on me and I don't have to accept it
You go girl! I am sorry to hear that happened to you. Why would you feel guilt or shame? It's your partner that should. Leaving a girl after being so intimate. That guy should feel guilty, not you honey.
Thanks so much for your comment - we hope your story inspires others. This clip is from a film we're working on called 'The American Virgin' and we linked to your comment from our film blog.
This goes out to all the women. Keep your virginity till the right man comes along! Which will probably be never! LOL ;) By the way, help me out with this: does it hurt to lose your virginity girls??? So many different answers i got, what's the truth. Does it hurt? yes or no?????
Many guys want to have fun with a girl with lots of experience, but how many of them will marry a girl like this? Ok then. I believe that true love waits, for males and females. And for those who have made a mistake they can become pure again in Christ. Virginity is a precious precious gift!!
You know what's screwed up? If a guy has sex with a lot of girls it's no big deal. If a girl has sex with more than one guy she's a whore. One of my friends had her social life ruined because she was "promiscuous;" her boyfriend, who did sex a hundred times more than she did, actually called her a slut.
Virginity is not only from a physical stance..Its much more than that! Its mental and spiritual. If virginity was classified as a 'life style" as homosexuality is classified as a "life style", then, it might be MORE accepted towards secular teens and their parents.
Sex! Sex! Sex! What's the fuss about? If your over 20, still a virgin and still single then do something about it. Hey! There's plenty of brothels about if you know where to look or ask around. Take it from me, I should know I went to visit one.
can someone explain womens liberation to me?...im honestly not getting it, acting like sluts is empowering? how? i dont get this....on an off note like "greatperson" said, there are plenty of MEN who are 20 and still virgin i was one of those...well ok 19, but still i waited till marriage and so did my wife and i dont regret it at all im glad i waited....whats so bad about being a virgin?
There's absolutely nothing wrong with being a virgin - if it's your choice on how to live your life. That choice should be based on actual information, not myth or misconception or prejudice or gender stereotypes.
I'll repeat my thoughts from an older post: Girls and women are still being judged and valued by how much and when they have sex. They are insulted, exploited and sometimes murdered for actions that are completely acceptable for men.
u r so right is not about sex or being vigin its always about women should stay virgins till thier marrige day in my country if woman had sex before marrige shes a whore but her brother maybe he sleeps with 3 women in a single day its ok with the ppl and even after when he will get married his wife she will be proud of him ...thats really annoying
Yeah, that kind of crap pisses me off. There are too many double standars and confusings things when it comes to sex and no one is talking about in a logical manner
Most women think by sleeping around, they are being tough, or strong, when in fact they are spreading disease and looking like sluts. Thank God for HPV.
I'm 20. I had an ex who refused to have vaginal intercourse, but we performed really involved oral sex on eachother frequently and intensely. She didn't want to lose her 'virginity' but in doing all of that passionate exchange what is the difference? She thinks that she isn't a slut because she has only performed oral sex on countless guys, and basically brags about still being a virgin...
Ok here is the thing, my 18 year old son has had to break up with 3 girls who were trying to press him into having sex. He won't compromise, and he gets bugged about it all the time... from even our family doctor that said " an 18 year old male virgin in this day in age? almost unheard of." So um where is the support out there for him?
That doctor doesn´t know what the f-- he´s talking about. He probably assumes that every teenage guy is a healthyminded jock like he probably was at that age and not a f--d up mental case like I was at that age. He forgets about huge numbers of hardcore Christians too. But then, they could probably be your son´s support group.
I definetly support him!!!!! I'm very angry to hear your doctor said that! I am a 19 year old female and I'm waiting for marriage to have sex. I would like my partner to be a virgin as well and I have always placed just as high a value on men being virgins as women. Society sees the value as physical because they're obsessed with the physical, such as this selling and objectifying of women being placed here, its hypocritical. Marrying a virgin means you'll come first to them; a happy marriage.
I'm going to have to disagree with what you're saying here. Not on the part about society and its accepted values of women, that I agree with. Being a virgin until marriage though, is just a waste.
Not to rain on your parade or anything but what happens if your marriage fails? I just think the whole idea needs to be redefined in our society today. It is truly sad that women feel that men are so sex driven and sex hungry that they need to resort to this. While patriarchy is responsible for this problem, abstinence is not the solution either.
true, the reason divorces are rising in the US is because of less importance being placed on non-premarital sex, this causes many to be disallusioned by their feelings and assume they're in love
What's sad is that girls and women are still being judged by how much and when they have sex. The behavior you condemn in women is benignly accepted in men, if not outright applauded. I have yet to see that kind of judgment leveled at high school and college boys.
i completely agree that it's sad. you have to look at where this whole virginity thing came from. when women were married off (basically sold) to their husbands they HAD to be a virgin or they were worthless. men weren't (and still aren't) held to that same standard.
bascially women need to educate themselves on where this taboo is coming from in order to make the best decision for their lives. they need to know that the origin of this practice was patriarchal and oppresive for their sex.
i think its us men who should REeducate ourselves, i have always been disgusted by my cultures obsession with sex, and i believe that any sexual revolution will end up looking like my country...12 yr. olds in ultra mini skirts*throws up in mouth*, men should be held by the same standard as women not women by the same standard as men...I.O.W. men should be virgins until marriage as well.
This video proves that feminists are not good marriage material. Guys dont want to marry women who are empowered by feminism to enjoy "the right to our own sexuality" read-the right to hump however, whenever. Because this idea wont stop because of marriage. Just love the girls are victims mentality of video. Yawn.
you have a sickeningly narrow view of what feminism is. being a feminist DOESN'T mean we go around having sex with random people "however, whenever". in fact, it's the opposite. we learn that we DESERVE respect and that the sexes should be equal. explain how that doesn't make someone "good marriage material".
Yeah, and he who looks at beer with thirst already has a beergut in his heart. And any diabetic who looks at a bowl of ice cream with an appetite for it has already died of a diabetic shock in his heart. And any truck driver who struggles to stay awake during the long night already crashed his truck in his heart.
Girls wont wait. Now a days by the time theyre 18 theyll have had multiple partners. Sad in college most girls i meet have already at least 10 guys do them by them theyre 18. Sad though that women think having sex with lots of guys is empowering. Because by acting like sluts its only hurting the womens movement
A "slut" is somebody who receives payment for performing sexual acts. The girls you are talking about are just behaving like guys... if a girl "acts like a guy" when it comes to sex does that make her a slut?
who wants to pop my cherry?

No reason to be
Is marriage REALLY that important?
mrdojob 1 year ago
@mrdojob What if you got an STD or she got pregnant? Is it really worth the risk? Just a few minutes could change the rest of your life. If you wait until marriage, you don't have to worry about these things. Also, condoms can break. They're not perfect.
kagurarox 1 year ago
@kagurarox Are you saying that married people never have STDs or unintended pregnancies? Marriage can be a wonderful thing (it makes me very happy) but I don't think a wedding ring is all that good for birth control.
TrixieFilms 1 year ago
@TrixieFilms Of course married people can get STDs and unplanned pregnancies. but if more people waited until marriage to have sex, the STD rate would go down, as well as the teen pregnancies as well as abortions. But who do you think is more qualified to be parents? Two teenagers in high school or a married couple? There's more commitment in marriage than dating (people usually date in order to find someone to marry) so they can support each other better than two teens.
kagurarox 1 year ago
@kagurarox If more people had access to actual fact-based sex-ed, then those who chose to become sexually active would have the tools for prevention. The failure rates taught in abstinence classes are for improperly used contraception and safer sex practices. They're improperly used because no one gave them actual information. Some people might choose to wait until marriage to become sexually active anyway, which is totally cool too. It's informed decision making that empowers people.
TrixieFilms 1 year ago
@TrixieFilms I'm not against teaching people about contraceptives, etc, but if sex ed emphasized the importance of abstinence, then maybe more teens would wait until they're married. If they knew how hard it was taking care of a baby, all the nasty details about STDs, and the fact that sex does not equal love, the teen pregnancy and abortion rate in this country would go down a lot. And many people are educated about sex, but they still get pregnant/STDs. More abstinent teens=less teen parents.
kagurarox 1 year ago
@TrixieFilms Also, women have more to lose if they have an unwanted pregnancy out of marriage--who's the one that has to carry the baby in their body/have to go through an abortion? The woman. Feminists should be totally for abstinence until marriage. If a guy can say no to sex for you, (even though he wants to have sex) then he obviously cares about YOU rather than wanting to just get into your pants. In that situation, the woman has the power: no sex until commitment.
kagurarox 1 year ago
@kagurarox Feminists are totally for women making their own decisions about their sex lives based on accurate information. Abstinence from sex is a part of comprehensive sex education programs that include info on safe sex.
I'm not sure why you suggest women should only have sex within committed relationships. Some women, like some men, enjoy sex for its own sake. Other women, like other men, feel a commitment is necessary for a sexual relationship. It's all good, if it's consensual and informed
TrixieFilms 1 year ago
@TrixieFilms If you have sex outside of a commited relationship, (ex: one night stand), then there can be huge consequences--like I mentioned before, you could get STDs, get pregnant, and what if you don't even know who the father is? Sex is not just a physical act to enjoy without consequences. It's an intimate act--not only physical, but emotional as well. Sex with someone you love is better than with someone you don't. Sex is worth waiting for-it's a precious thing to share with someone.
kagurarox 1 year ago

BLaiaiprincess 1 year ago
Ummmm........... Both men AND women are prone to emotions, feelings(same thing) and attachments, the only difference being which emotions each are prone to. Basically, men are wired to react as if they are superior (not sure about other men, but I am), which means aggressiveness, outrage at being belittled and contempt. Women, being more physically diminutive, are more prone to develop submissive feelings (attachment, submissiveness, fear) which basically fits together for a working society.
NorseWarriorKing 1 year ago
Why women can´t have sex with a lot of people and men can?!
Someone starts to have sex when she/he feels she/he is ready to. Not when religion says it should be. I really don´t know why virginity means "morality" to people.
The fact that someone had sex before marriage does not mean they are "whores". Also, why "whore" can be just used for women?!
MalevolentKreation 1 year ago
@MalevolentKreation Women have more to lose--they can get pregnant, but a guy can't. So do you think if a 12 year old is "ready" to have sex they should go ahead and do it? Most young people are not ready for the consequences of sex.
kagurarox 1 year ago
@MalevolentKreation
Flare400 9 months ago
@Flare400 You're stupid. Sorry but, "This standard mainly arose because of biological differeinces" .... "then there would be a real awkward situation". Social awkwardness is not a biological factor. It people were meant to be monoamorous then their vagina/penis would only work for one person... Biologically speaking.
The only reason "Women can't have sex with a lot of people and men can?!" is purely a construct created by society. Every individual (woman or man) should do what they want.
Julietteisme 9 months ago
@Julietteisme
If you think most men want to raise children that they're not sure are biologically theirs, you're stupid.
Flare400 9 months ago
@Julietteisme
Flare400 9 months ago
@Flare400 While that may well be true for many men past and present, the larger issue that men, generally speaking, could have sex with (and maybe even impregnate) other women with impunity. Premarital sex was not a capital offense for men, in fact it was believed to be a necessity. A woman's sexuality was limited and under the total control of her father or her husband. That double standard is a social construct.
TrixieFilms 9 months ago
@TrixieFilms
Flare400 9 months ago
@TrixieFilms

TheEndtymsnatzal 2 years ago
Being technacally a virgin has nothing to do with being a virteous woman, A hore can be a virgin who thinks she has beaten the stigma by having various other forms of sex. She is fooling herself . KEEP in mind, a hore,or loose girl, became that way , starting off with skirting intercourse. So i'd say there are more hores today, than ever in history
TheEndtymsnatzal 2 years ago
@TheEndtymsnatzal It's admirable to abstain from sex to focus on spiritual matters but not everyone who isn't a virgin or who has various forms of sex is a "hore" Saying stuff like that is pretentious, prideful and hateful- those definitely aren't characteristics of a "virtuous woman", either. Take a look at yourself before you point fingers at others.
SkiptotheLou1991 1 year ago
virgin is a word created by men wanting to dominate women! Have you realized it was never men whose so called virginity was to be guarded but the woman's. Women for years have been taught that sex is pretty much a chore and the only reason to have it is to make babies with a husband! be damned if you are not married.
darthsun666 2 years ago 19

If you're mature enough to have sex then you're mature enough to deal with the mess after.
sadbrwneyes989 2 years ago 5
I agree, also those pledges don't work and I find it very backwards and unfair that it's always geared towards girls. I also feel that if you want to wait until you're married you have to find someone like that as well, because that can put a lot of pressure on a relationship. It's like ok we're dating, so does this mean we're going to get married? I feel like it would be a lot of pressure, but that's just me and that's why it's important for both people to agree.
ElMa1788 1 year ago
we make sex such a big deal!! virginity is not real!! can u find virginity? the hymen u say? ummm a rowdy bus or train ride can break that shit - a horseback ride..etc penetration does not equal loss of virginity -since not all people like lesbians penetrate - so why dont we use our brains from now on and stop putting women as the victim that has to either be a virgin or be subject to being called a whore and stop putting sex so high! we all do it u assholes!men have sex with someones daughter!

well you can't actually know if a girl is actually a virgin.

They demand "Gimme more"
laurajdahl 3 years ago
interesting...IMO, i strongly believe that virginity is the most beautiful gift a person could give to his/her spouse. Society has changed the minds of people, making them believe that losing their virginity while a teenager is cool...what's cool about having a baby at an early age? what's cool about seeing a child (teen mom) care for a younger child (baby)?
jtaha 3 years ago
I agree with on a lot of that, except for the idea that having a baby at a younger age is cool. Age at first marriage is just older so their are actually less teenage births now then many years in the past.

saving sex for marriage is the decision not to addict oneself to sexual pleasure or give up your body for someone to use.

I feel this video is making women who want to wait for the right person feel guilty so that girls who want to be sexually active don't. I don't think the issue that needs to be addressed here is what virginity means or the role of marriage, but rather its a personal choice about whether you want your first sexual experience to be with someone you care about or something that happens when you're drunk at a party.
chinkysista 3 years ago
What I'm really more interested in is letting people make their own decisions without judgment (whether it's with someone they care about OR drunk at a party). We need honest and open conversation about sexuality, because it seems so many of our decisions (and reactions) are based on distorted media messages, bad science and sexism.
TrixieFilms 3 years ago
So if we look down on girls who get drunk and lose it at parties and have kids out of wedlock, that's being judgemental?? Whatever happened to common sense! I wouldn't want these people teaching MY daughters!
poetryofimage 3 years ago
I think people need to be real about choices. If you want to choose to wait to have sex to marriage, than that's fine, its someone's choice. But if someone wants to have sex, they shouldn't feel guilty about wanting to have sex.
Our sex education programs in school only promote abstinence, and while that is important, its the same thing as saying no to drugs, saying no to sex through educational programs is not going to work. Having comprehensive sex ed is the only way in my eyes.

There are a plenty of male virgins going on age 20; mainstream culture may not worship it but then again who worships mainstream culture?
I find it a bit silly that women would preach the mainstream line of a pathetic man and yet cry that others view them in the same way.
The problem with this attitude is that in being so anti-church, the idea of abstinence is now seen as foolish; hence 13 year olds dying of AIDS.

Ok here is the thing, my 18 year old son has had to break up with 3 girls who were trying to press him into having sex. That doctor doesn´t know what the f-- he´s talking about. true, the reason divorces are rising in the US is because of less importance being placed on non-premarital sex, this causes many to be disallusioned by their feelings and assume they're in love

What's sad is that girls and women are still being judged by how much and when they have sex. The behavior you condemn in women is benignly accepted in men, if not outright applauded. I have yet to see that kind of judgment leveled at high school and college boys.

Everyone is judged by how much and when they have sex, take it from me (49 year old virgin).

i completely agree that it's sad. you have to look at where this whole virginity thing came from. when women were married off (basically sold) to their husbands they HAD to be a virgin or they were worthless. men weren't (and still aren't) held to that same standard.
bascially women need to educate themselves on where this taboo is coming from in order to make the best decision for their lives. they need to know that the origin of this practice was patriarchal and oppresive for their sex.

i think its us men who should REeducate ourselves, i have always been disgusted by my cultures obsession with sex, and i believe that any sexual revolution will end up looking like my country...12 yr. olds in ultra mini skirts*throws up in mouth*, men should be held by the same standard as women not women by the same standard as men...I.O.W. men should be virgins until marriage as well.

Because no one wants a slutty woman. Women that have been around, are very unattractive.

Most of the guys I know like women "with experience." The girls I know hate guys who are hypocrites.
Sorry, pal. Times, they are achangin'.

It's not only physical.
Matthew 5:28 But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Evahrab 4 years ago
techincaly a slut is a girl who goes with many guys without payment, but because she enjoys it! a whore gets payed a slut doesnt
