  • is the crowd freezed ??? i would fuckin headbang

  • i also had the METAL LICKS cassette. i did'nt know anything about HAWK, i have seen the BULLETBOYS 3 times, JUDAS PRIEST 8 times the last nov 8th 2011 in cincinatti, ohio. the 1st KING KOBRA is a CLASSIC.

  • The most fastening thing about this is how the audience is just standing there. Really strange.....

  • Charles was the original vocalist but by the time the album was recorded he was no longer in the band. At that point, David Fefolt was the lead singer for Hawk.

  • @dmarks1 much thanx. don't know why but i like Charles' vocals in this one more than David's. The song is awesome.

  • Can u Tell Me why the lead vocalist here is Charles Wayne Morrill but on the album it's David Fenfolt?

  • @StyleyFreaky - many bands change lineups in their early stages. Hawk had different vocalist when the album was recorded, this show is a year later with a different band and singer. In the 80's changing band members happened almost on a weekly basis for some bands!

  • These guys Rocked, wish they lasted longer, Doug Marks kicked ass,

so did Duece and Diamoned Rexx, Witch, early Motley and WASP, and all the pre WASP.

  • awesome tone dude! what amp did you used? and what pickups?

  • @kickalion Thanks. I used a Carvin 100 Watt amp and Seymour Duncan distortion pickups.

  • @dmarks1 dude, that's 2 a.m in Poland now, and I'm watching these bitchin' vids several times in a row. Thank's for quick answer! And good info form you...I got SD distortion on my baby too ! ;)

  • @kickalion It's 6:00 p.m. here. Got the whole night ahead of me. Enjoy the videos.

  • oh and I just love everyone's hair too

  • the singers outfit and microphone stand is awesome! Love the feathers :P

  • where is the singer nowdays

  • the first band drummer Scott Travis

  • Hell yea you guys look freaking awesome in this video, plus you got killer heavy songs. You guys were one of the few bands to represent the glam genre properly, killer guitar, interesting songs and a badass image.

  • LIKE IT B.K DAYS SCOTTW/ J.P LONNIE B/BOYS CHARLE THE ROSE WHERES DAVE MORRILL THE WOODLIN HILLS DAYS GET BACK TO ME CHUCK TOM FROM L.B TOMCAT1598@YAHOO.COM

  • That's my daddy on vocals :D

  • hey i love this kind of metal .. i would like to start moving with "style" with my guitar .. but unfortunatly i´m still feeling noob ...

  • doug marks rulz

  • I have a question how come Charles Morril sounds so different live then on the album version; not complaining I love the live version way more

  • @blind082008 - Charles didn't sing on the Hawk album. The Hawk album was recorded the following year with a different lineup including a different vocalist.

  • @dmarks1 that explains everything but is there a hawk album with him singing because i would buy it

  • So where can we get the Hawk album that was released ?

  • @58sqnrockape It's available on our "Products page" at metalmethod com

  • Hey Doug! Long time "student of yours"... having owned a few different versions of your course and just broke them out to start working with my nephew. He needs a better diversion then buying "airsoft" pellet guns and getting suspended from school.

  • @dinein1970 good luck to you and your nephew. Guitar is a great diversion. I know it's my favorite.

  • I Love This Period of Heavy Metal Music(1983-1986), Cause it Really Had Everything Going For It! Tough Yet Kinda Glam Image Right out of Motley Crue 1982, But Obviously More "Metal"!. Beautiful Jackson Randy Rhoads Custom Guitar, which was "Very New" at the Time!, Cool "Loudness" Minoru Niihara Style Vocals, Etc, Doug you need to Post More Vids of You Sportin' The Jackson Rhoads Model Guitar, Even if its You @Practice, or Rehearsin.!

  • I remember these days, I was at almost every show, I am Charles's little cousin and followed him every where. It's great to see these videos and would love to see more.

  • doug u really own

    thx a lot for everything...

Hawk was a great band and it's a sad thing u didn't continue....

  • I vaguely Remember me and My dad listening to your 1985 Vinyl just a little while ago.. Killer.

  • gotta love the hair

  • haha I was only three when this came out but even then I was rocking out with a tennis racket in my g.i. joe underware! you had the presence, love it!

  • Hey doug, i have question! how come you never did a instrumental rock album, like joe satriani or steve vai? i like your style of playing!

  • @FabianRL87 - I've always been into vocal music more than instrumental. At the same time, I have given this some thought over the past couple of years. If not an album, maybe a few songs.

  • Would have been great too hear a instrumental version of you sir.

  • DUDE I WATCHED YOUR CAT VIDEO!!! XD

  • I just bought my first Jackson RR V in November `09

    ^___^ .

  • Great guitar. I'm sure you're loving it.

  • Doug , you have more videos of band Hawk ?

I love this video , and No One To Love .... i wanna see more videos *-*

  • I actually don't listen to pop music radio anymore. There is nothing on that grabs me like it did back in the day when groups like Stone Fury, Skid Row, and the like were played.

  • Holy shit! I can't believe this is on YT. I used to go see them everytime they played in LA and Long Beach! Doug, you rule buddy!

  • Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Long Beach, The Waters club... I remember it well.

  • did you guys have a cd? cause i'd love to get this on the ipod

  • Hawk had a CD released after this version of the band broke up. This song is on the album but sounds very diffeent. The CD is available on metalmethod com

  • Hi Doug! Your solos are great!

    Love that V Guitar!

    God Bless you my friend!

  • Doug, this is fantastic. If only this style of music would come back and show the new generation how it's done ;-)

  • Doug. I have only seen a snakeskin guitar strap used by yourself and Mantas of Venom. Awesome !!

    \m/

  • Awesome, Doug....love the intro solo and the main solo as well. Great catchy riff like all the 80's metal with the hook riffs and melodies....Thanks for letting all your fans and students see this!!!

  • This band are awesome!

Never heard of them before, didn't know Lonnie was with 'em, comes to show everyone had teased up hair to the sky in the day and then went on to form some other band (i.e Josh Todd, the 5 Finger Death Punch dude, Alice In Chains, Weezer guy, Foo Fighters Chris etc.)

  • this vidios veryyyyyyyyy niceeeeeeee!!'..

  • This makes me wish to go back in time...God damn...exciting times!!!

  • Once a again another killer song thanks Mark can't wait to hear what the rest of it sounds like this is just a taste.. incredible tone and vocals

P.S. When are you going to open up your song series like back in the day.. Van Halen, Ozzy and all the greats. You were the best at it I know everyone from from their grandpa to the cable guy is teaching Val Halen on youtube hope you can consider it Thank you

  • Thanks. A lot of people are teaching songs note for note on YouTube but not legally. When I did the Classic Metal Note for Note series it was legal. I paid for the rights to do it. It was before groups learned how to say no. Now it's very difficult to get the rights to teach popular songs legally.

  • I don't know much about the legal aspects of it, but if you over come that part and the rights to do it will be incredible to bring it back. Like phrase by phrase and lick library God bless and keep doing what you do.... because your the best at what you do.

  • Superb , you need to release the album Doug

  • Cant believe I never heard of this band, I guess the guys never made it to Australia, gr8 sound Love it !

  • What they did to their poor hair should be a crime. Lol!

    Doug Rocks.

  • Doug used to be able to rip! I dont think he plays much these days.

  • Oh no, I still play about every day.

  • and I still refer to your lessons!! When my band Halcyon Way finishes the new album I'll try to get you a press copy. go to the youtube channel hwmetal to see a recent vid of us shredding here the ATL. I'm the big pumped up dude playing what appears to be a ukelele, but is actually just a regular guitar on my huge frame. hehe

  • Good memories!!!

    \m/ Metal!!! \m/

  • Just had a flashback.... and it hurt.

  • ViSuáL-K metal I love the long haired rockers....

  • WE HAD A LOT OF FUN... DOUG is the best and a great friend,, please check out my new band too PLATINUM ROSE

  • Crazy!!!! My daughter was looking over my shoulder during this video. She asks "dad, what in the hell is that"? I said, "That's metal baby"!

I actually found some Aqua Net recently in one of my old road cases! It's your Doug, if you need it!

    Rock on!!

  • No, I've used my lifetime quota of Aqua Net. If I did any more damage to the environment they'd string me up.

"What the hell was that?" You're daughter has a point. So do you, "Metal baby."

  • I like showing these vintage heavy metal videos to my son, so he understands how heavy metal began.

This was the era when guitar evolved from Zeppelin-like-solos to what it is now.

    Wonderful!!

  • That's great. I'm not sure what can be understood by viewing this but I sure remember what it was like to live it.

  • Nice....my only friend is my guitar..very good.

  • My guitar will take me far 'cause it's my only friend.

  • oh nooooo!!!

    why did you remove the...

...when people with crazy hair ruled the world etc description?!

that was so awesome !! :O

  • It's still there on "No One to Love." I didn't remove it. This is a different song and I didn't want to discuss how we destroyed the ozone layer here.

  • Sorry !!

    Can't believe that you answered!!

    I'm really happy

    Greetings from Austria

    Metal Method Rules!!

  • Greetings from the U.S. Great hearing from you Otti200

  • you were awesome in those days. congratulations! but i can't understand why people is so cold in this vid! where's rockinroll madness?

  • I gotta say, the little bit of delay on the vocals adds a bunch. Sounds awesome.

  • So you're going tease us along then? Worth the wait definitely. This was my favorite era of rock, really wish I could have lived through it. Can't wait for the next one.

  • hawk is pretty damn good. and im not just saying that. i like singers voice and dougs soloing

  • Those giant hairdos really amplify the stage moves. All the head banging is surrounded by huge fluffy trails of hair. ;D

Doug plays great but he's also putting on a show. Awesome!

  • awesome duuude loved it look & sound !

  • Awesome guitar!

  • Thanks

  • those were the good days of hair metal!

  • How much aqua net did you go through in the 80s? Awesome video!

  • Tons. Have you heard of global warming? It's our fault.

  • Hey Doug, do you remember how long you had been playing at this point, and your daily hours of practice, etc?

  • That is an excellent question. I'm working on a newsletter right now and will answer your question in detail there. If you don't subscribe, sign up at RockGuitar com. I'll be sending it out next week.

  • oh yeah fuck yeah doug, love the hair!!

  • You guys sound great! Thanks for posting this, Mr. Marks!
