One dimensional lead singer who stopped sounding good years back, formulaic song writing on acoustic based on 4-5 cords, and other stuff, but The Charlatans have nowhere near the body of work Oasis have, and apart from when they were at their peak, most of there stuff is indie shit that only students from that era love.

The charlatans first album came out in 1990, the first of 10 released to date. Oasis did not form until 1991 & did not release their first album until 1994. By then this fine band were on their third and Oasis, even though a good band were hoovered up by record companies desperate to sign a Manchester band off the back of bands like The Stone Roses & The Charlatans. A simple google, or Wiki search would enrich your obviously narrow knowledge of British bands & stop you insulting a great band.

Actually, I find that the Charlatans took the Stone Roses style, but Oasis took the Verve's and The Beatle's style.

Fuck it, all are amazing bands and are evidence that British music is without a doubt the best around!

@WR10ManUnitedRG11 - yes maybe, but it's well documented Liam was looking to create something that filled the void after the Roses didn't, with the same buzz about it. There is a double A side 7" single named 'Wibbling Rivalry', it's basically 30 minutes of Liam and Noel being interviewed and arguing with each other. On this single Liam actually says '(I) like how it's bubbling up, it reminds me of the Roses over again".
