  • Well, it looks like someone watched the Beastie Boys video for "So Whatcha Want" before making this one. I dig these guys, but not too creative here.

  • Their best song ever. Look cool as fuck in this video as well. The Charlatans in their prime.

  • Pure class! Anyone aspiring for greatness would do well to stick this little beauty on repeat on their iPod. This track is what I call my 'award acceptance track' - can't possibly think of anything better.

  • I have lost all respect for Tim Burges from reading the shit he comes out with on twitter. Still great band though

  • ey guys, accept it both the charlatans and oasis are fucking amazing iconic bands. as noel gallagher said, music is not a contest. now if you want to compare the two or insult any of them, fuck off.

  • from someone who lived that "era" this band piss all over OASIS.

  • still pisses over your rant

  • el buen feeling siempre es valorado...y a estos les sobra........see you next in ROCK in WAY 2011......yeahhhhh

  • one of the best intro ever :D

  • @MrJockstar1 ...and a nice little swagger from main man Tim as well...

Mark "Bez" Berry (The Happy Mondays) and Wojtek Dmochowski (The Blue Aeroplanes) eat your tiny little hearts out! 24 HOUR PARTY PEOPLE!

  • Joan Whiley described this number as "The Devil's Music" on Top of the Pops.

And even both panels on "Never mind the Buzzcocks" weren't quite sure what the

singer was on about. Yet this looks like the perfect day out. Five likely lads, a forest, a bit of drizzly weather, and finally playing your nuts off, like there's no

tomorrow. How high can you go? Brilliant song. Definitely "Supersonic" mate.

    GAME ON!

  • @OEKIE77 ..right on brother

  • Tim is GOD:)

  • Takes me back to Coventry's Coliseum in the 90's, best club in the country for brit pop/indie! Also known as The Tick Toc back in the day(80's).

  • The Charlatans as previously stated, piss all over oasis. But thats not the point is it?

  • @MrJonnie22 Do they fuck piss all over Oasis you silly twat. I know the same as anyone Oasis musical limitations. One dimensional lead singer who stopped sounding good years back, formulaic song writing on acoustic based on 4-5 cords, and other stuff, but The Charlatans have nowhere near the body of work Oasis have, and apart from when they were at their peak, most of there stuff is indie shit that only students from that era love.

  • @Underground906 Wrong!

  • the charlatans piss all over oasis

  • @gimanky16 Fuck off. The Charlatans are a great band, but dont even try to compare them to the kings

  • Mancs

  • how is tim deaf to his own soul! ffs explain yourself.

  • nice

  • Muito bom.........

  • Whats the frequency Kenneth!!

  • wooooooooooooo im watching these guys live in bangkok tonight.get in there.im fuckin mad fer it.woooooooooooooooo.

  • what's few of their more familiar songs? anyone please.

  • Take Tim Burgess and Ian Brown. Dilute and stir. Add shite. Season with an ounce of John Lennons talent and persona. Cook on gas mark Nineties for 2 minutes. Instant Liam Gallagher. Enjoy.

  • @reacher60 pmsl lol very funny

  • Arf. This song is my childhood!

I'm realizing I grew up listening to FANTASTIC music...look at what we have now... :/

I"m a massive Stone Roses fan but I do love the Charlatans too! :D

  • this song is sick in the good way lol

  • marvellous

  • STORMING

  • Saw them last night in Carrboro, NC. Small club, barely 100 people there but they put on a good show. :)

  • 88 til 95 was a mini 60s the music was awsome i took manny a E and had a tour of duty of the club seen

  • I'm just starting getting into The Charlatans! I'm loving this!

  • good chune - but they were sheeeeeite live at t in the park 2004

  • Love the random 'ding!' at 2:01!

  • @prango Me to!

  • The charlatans first album came out in 1990, the first of 10 released to date. Oasis did not form until 1991 & did not release their first album until 1994. By then this fine band were on their third and Oasis, even though a good band were hoovered up by record companies desperate to sign a Manchester band off the back of bands like The Stone Roses & The Charlatans. A simple google, or Wiki search would enrich your obviously narrow knowledge of British bands & stop you insulting a great band.

  • rob collins was the fuckin man ...such a strong back catalogue of stuff ..they found it hard to recapture this level after rob was gone

  • oasis?

  • wat a tune..only gettin into this band now how the fuk have i not heard of them before

  • @stevecelticfan1888 theyve probably just come out in jockland

  • fucken class tellin stories!!!!!!!!!

  • I still want Tim's jacket!!!

  • it is the dogs taters int it!?

  • YYYEEEEESSS!

  • proper TOP 90's! Yes!

  • aahh I like them so much !

  • What a fuckin' great album "Telin' Stories" is

  • @britdemmen

yes, and the singles are fuckin' better! Such a great period for this band. Ful of exicitement, yes it was!

  • does anyone else think they sound like oasis??? weird

  • more like oasis sounds like charlatans... i love both bands but "sounds-like" rights go to the early band... charlatans were first - but then we'd have to get the mondays and roseses in there too... and in my opinion, they all rode the coat tails of deep purple - check out "hush"... it's spooky... and forgotten...

  • it's the contrary

  • how would they sound like oasis when they were out before oasis dumbass oasis took their style

  • no they fkn didnt spazzy suk ma stinky slimey wet boner looool

  • until u no wot ur talking about shut ur sick mouth u pedo

  • Stupid retard, bigboab110

  • suk my jaggy wet slimy smelly nutty shite

  • @BigBoab110 ahaha legend

  • Actually, I find that the Charlatans took the Stone Roses style, but Oasis took the Verve's and The Beatle's style.

Fuck it, all are amazing bands and are evidence that British music is without a doubt the best around!

  • @WR10ManUnitedRG11 - yes maybe, but it's well documented Liam was looking to create something that filled the void after the Roses didn't, with the same buzz about it. There is a double A side 7" single named 'Wibbling Rivalry', it's basically 30 minutes of Liam and Noel being interviewed and arguing with each other. On this single Liam actually says '(I) like how it's bubbling up, it reminds me of the Roses over again".

  • dont you think oasis took a bit of the Stone Roses style

  • @davidronaldp Oasis took everything from the North West from the Beatles to the Roses and showed the world how fuckin great the music was, is and always will be!

  • @helminatorx yea but oasis became pretty terrible circa 1999/2000 ,some good songs here and there (the noel sung ones).Fantastic he ditched liam.

  • @helminatorx then they moved to that London

  • @davidronaldp - they was always going to as the Stone Roses influenced Oasis.

  • @BRUIZER1st dosen't stop them to be influenced by Oasis when came out tho, knowing the huge impact they had

plus this song is from 97 ? i believe ? anyway it was out when Oasis was already legend so

but i'm jsut sayin', not agreeing, i love Charlatans and they're unique, beautiful music.

  • @BRUIZER1st yea thats right u knob

  • @BRUIZER1st The thing is that this song sounds a little like Oasis. And The Charlatans had quite a different sound than this before Oasis came along.

  • @HonkyCat90 If they sound like Oasis, explain the album 'Some Friendly'?

  • @Son7Sam666 I was really just talking about this song

  • @BRUIZER1st Erm perhaps coz this song was out in 96 and oasis' debut album came out in 94. still a good song though.

  • @BRUIZER1st Takes two Oasis boys to be anywhere near as cool as Mr Burgess...

  • @BRUIZER1st I completely agree

  • @BRUIZER1st just clarifying but i think charlatans in 1995-7 sounded like early oasis, which was 1994-5. charlatans formed earlier than oasis, yes, but they didnt have this sound from the start. some friendly dont sound like oasis, or like this. so oasis didnt take their style.

  • The guy made the video must have taken litres of LSD in his life or at least swallowed lots of magic mushrooms. Colours are weird...

  • 'how high' was he?

  • Takes me back-I'll be down when your down, I'll be up when your up!

    Life man!

  • Tim looked cool back then, now he just looks like a nob, and living in LA as well? no thanks. Old School charlatans can't beat it. God bless coats of the 90's as well used to own a few :P

  • Very good vid and audio quality of this tune. Thanks!

  • really really thanks for this video in high quality!! grazie mille!
