@asnaes If you think that, you haven't tried much American beer. Right now, American beer is some of the best in the world.
Budweiser, Coors, Miller, and other macrobrewed swill aren't indicative of the entire nation's brewing ability. Find a local brewery, take a tour, and try some of what they're selling.
Try something from the Sierra Nevada, Great Lakes, or Stone brewing companies. They're nationally available, and put many imported beers to shame.
The little guy standing next to Hogan at the bar is Leslie Jordan later seen in Will & Grace and Sordid Lives. He has a stand-up video called My Life Down The Pink Carpet where he talks about meeting Paul Hogan and making this commercial. The story is a lot longer than the commercial - and a lot funnier. It's on Netflix.
weird commercial,,, belgian beer for me. Australia was taken over by companies taking advantage, but its at the stage of time, technology and economy for the 20th century cor-piratism of australia to go by the wayside and make way for some real products and culture.
Here I go again putting on my defence lawyer hat. Meanwhile the ATO wears those silliy lifesaver capz, you know, the ones with the little spinning helicopter bladez on top. Then they use an opportunistic approach to enforcing a significant prosecutory action, possibly jeopardising the action. I think the latin term is nolly, miss molly.
i was in america several months ago and had a laugh at fosters marketing one liner. 'Fosters, Australian for beer'. for the record, no one in oz drinks fosters.
Crikey! Paul's my favorite actor, but where the hell is the mate? I've not seen em do nothin since the 3rd installment of Crocodile Dundee, and thats been like 4 or 5 years ago. By the way, someone needs to tell em to lose that jacket. He doesn't look like himself.
Respond to this video... He's semi retired but his too latest movie's are Australian made and weren't internationally popular to make it past to other foreign country's but those movie's were good for an Australian film those movie's were called Strange Bedfellows & Charlie & Boots.

It's ironic that this is the lead Australian beer for the overseas market when here we don't drink it. It's horrible stuff.
And I don't remember the last time anyone referred to beer as "Amber Nectar". It's become slang of the past.

Fosters and Sapporo on the U.S. market are often brewed in Canada, though Asahi almost always comes straight from Japan.
