@SusanM31 Make sure you are on the correct TV source once u choose that NO option... U are plugged to the tv with RGB then switch to RGB source... play with yout TV and cables a little, it will not hurt ur PS3 or tv i promise ;)

here's my dilemma, I get this on games I purchased recently, eg. Fifa 12, HP1-4 4-7 Uncharted 3 AC:R Sonic:G all work fine, but Dark souls and FFXII-2 keep giving me this. basically some games work some don't all my games are new sealed and very well looked after. But I stil get this error even swapping HDD, formatting resetting and re building and cleaning the laser, EVERYTHING U CAN THINK OF. I've tried it and nothing works

If this doesn't work you probably have to change your bluray laser. Ebay sells them for about 30 bucks and it's not that difficult to install. This happened to me less than a year ago....

But now I got the error again lol.

i just got the new battlefield 3 disk was working fine online gameplay froze a couple times after 3 - 4 weeks of playing every so often it starts saying error during start operation all my other ps3 / dvds all my other disks work just not battlefield not sure if its a faulty disk it has no scratchs or marks and don't want to reset my ps3 if it turns out to be the disk thats faulty time to bring back my 60gb ps3 try it on that rather than the 320gb i use

i had same problem but i figure it out.... first i checked my free space of drive its showing 20gb free (i have 500gb drive).... i just start deleting my files from movies, music folders in those folders i found some corrupted files too... i mange to fee up 150gb space in drive and reboot ps3... gr8 now its working... without restore or format my drive... just try once..

Didn't work :(( I did it twice and nothing. . . Every time I turn it on sounds like it's ejecting the disc but sucking it back in at the same time. The disc will show up in the XMB after i restart my ps3 6 times but when I click on it, i still get the same code :(((

Hi mate, my PS3 has had this error code. It dosent play blu-ray games, but it plays DVDs and CDs, Unfortunaly I dont have any Blu-Ray movie discs to see if the blu-ray is the problem. If you know anything about this, being able to read DVDs and CDs but not games, please tell me. (If it helps, I got this code when I was editing my Black Ops emblem and some of the emblem icons were missing, so I restarted my PS3 and got this error)

in most cases where this is a problem on a game or two could be because they were rented games... there is a forum which utube won't let me post the link where the owner of a rental shop found out that it was the white pad inside the rental box that was damaging the disc - not scratching it - in some way, maybe the glue or anything dissolving the material which was making it impossible for some systems to read the data... all of my personal games are working, some rented won't tho
