@19wael96 That isn't how I understand it. I think it sucks in fuel with every intake stroke, regardless of whether it fires. It fires by closing the exhaust valve to build compression. If I am right, it would waste fuel.
@toadabc yes but when the compression is relesed the inlet valve cant open because it is opened by a vaccum in the bore so it does not waste fuel all it does it get down to it set speed the govorner alowes the exaust valve to close, the piston goes down sucking the inlet valve open and drawing in fuel then it fires and opens the exhaust valve and coasts down to its set speed again
These engines normally came with one flywheel, except for generating when two were sometimes supplied, although tangyes did supply an extra heavy single flywheel for electrical purposes.
Is the bearing on the flywheel side larger to compensate for the weight on that side. Runs real nice, I have mostly smaller hit n miss and tg engines. THANK YOU. Phil
Did this engine come with only the one flywheel. Is it missing the other flywheel or can any type pulley or gear be put on the open shaft. Seems to run well with one flywheel. Phil
The oiler drive couldnt be any simpler than this.

Lovely engine you've got there. I like the sound. But I also just like oil engines.

Very nice engine. The sound is fantastic.
Bidone1967 2 years ago
it fires every 19 revoloutions i think its very fuel effecient
19wael96 2 years ago
why is that?
why doesn't it just fires every 2 revolutions? as a normal 4 stroke engine
hendrikhelweg 2 years ago
on this engine is called
hit and miss engine
it fires every 19 revolutions to maintain speed on the governor
you will understand
try finding a video how hit and miss engines work .
19wael96 2 years ago
because the engine has a huge mass that its throwing around, it doesnt have to fire as often to keep it spinning.

well i dont think that it sucks fuel in every intake
because it would spit oil out and waste it
the governor is connected to the valve and the injector too .

very rythmic with the puff... sounds like an old grandfather clock

I think that arm going back and forth is for the lubricator unit?? Maybe wrong about that though

What is the thing at 27sec thats going back and forth? is it something to do with the oil or water?
