This is a complicated, beautiful language. I can see why the Polish kids in my neighborhood who went to my schools were so smart. Speaking a language so unlike English and they spoke English perfectly, too, must have made their brain bigger. I heard this language growing up and hardly learned a word. I heard Italian after I got married and can understand my husband's family's dialect because it is an easier language. Pan, Pano, Pana in Polish mean you for a man, just one confusing example.
Polish is complicated, but so is English. English doesn't always follow the rules of grammar, for example the rule i before e except after c, doesn't apply in every case. There are exceptions to the rule, this must be confusing for foreigners,
Is there any books or literature to accompany this series? After the video has finished I forget half of what I've learned. If it was written down, I would have something to refer to.
Dokładnie. Powinno być "Potrzebujemy Jakiegoś prezentu!" A nie Potrzebujemy jakiś prezent. Choć niektórzy mówią tą drugą wersję ale prawidłowo sie odmienia na Potrzebujemy jakiegoś prezentu.
"Polish is very more complicated than English" The irony there is beautiful beyond belief. English might be harder for you if you learned some of the grammar. Maybe someone here should take their own advice :D
Now before everyone jumps on me, I am sorry I could not resist pointing that out.
This is not in the video, but, why does jechać lose 'ch' when conjugated: jadę, jedziesz, etc...? Is this the only verb where 'ch' turns into 'd' or 'dzi'?

When it explains "ona jest dobra - she is good", "on jest dobry - he is good" and "to jest dobre" is that the only pronunciations for "good"? So would I say "ja jest dobre" or there is more? Like the other examples for words like "read". "ja czytam", "ty czytasz" and etcetera. Please reply.
ja jestem dobry = I am good ty jesteś dobry = You are good on jest dobry = He is good ona jest dobra = She is good to jest dobre = It is good my jesteśmy dobrzy = We are good wy jesteście dobrzy = You are good oni są dobrzy = They are good Is this all the right translation? "Potrzebujemy jakiś prezent" sounds odd for a native and it isn't correct.
After the verb "potrzebować" we always use Genitive case (kogo? czego?).
So it should be "Potrzebujemy jakiegoś prezentu."
