o cmon, politicking is what politicians do. by saying you think she was being inappropriate, you are in fact also politicking. i just wish they would all shut their mouths

How hypocritical. MLK dedicated his life to 'politicking'-- i.e. trying to cause great change in an unjust world. Doing precisely that honors his memory, not trivializes it!
He did 'politic'-- one can politic and appeal to basic human decency-- which is precisely what I said in my first comment. Affecting social change is politic by very nature of our system as it is supposed to be when it actually WORKS. Continuing to lobby for basic human decency and equality honors his memory, not trivializes it.

MLK was much more forgiving then this guy! He's making it Political!! Is this a case where the pot is calling the kettle black or somethin like that!

Oh sure, put the election day on the day right after the day to "Honor". Hypocrite. Congress has to wait on just him, but he can't wait for anyone.
Respect my ass. He's making a political thing out of not being political.

It's wrong for her to ask for votes on MLK day, but it's o.k. for him to campaign?
Barnekkid 2 years ago
I think they just left an event for MLK. I don't think he's suggesting that they not campaign all day. Just at the appropriate time.
MaHaRushie 2 years ago
The speech was dedicated for MLK but she made it political. She should of done it on her campaigning not at the MLK day breakfast

I remember watching and listening to King. He did not "politic". He made appeals to human decency. That is why we remember him.
