I don't know, 2,409 coalition dead (US: 1,501) vs 38,000+ dead seems great statistically, but changing the country to an Iraq (democratic, richer, safer, etc) is very far off even now. I don't know, 2,409 coalition dead (US: 1,501) vs 38,000+ dead seems great statistically, but changing the country to an Iraq (democratic, richer, safer, etc) is very far off even now. Can't say the US and coalition hasn't done anything though, they've definitively started the turn over to their own security forces. The US is really better then communism and they only really seem to help the people, but just like in Vietnam people watching TV are horrified and think we need to leave right away.

@TheSaffyone We wanted better control of the region, and certainly didn't want russia there, so we assisted them in a common goal, to keep russia out of the area. That is not using either. It is helping them in our best interest.
Maybe you don't know it, but keeping some semblance of a balance of power and minimum disruption in the region was in our best interest, and it's the job of our president to protect our interests. It helps stabilize our economy. Same reason we helped saddam with Iraq.

@bombsquad817 yeah your right, only thing is due to its weak and unsupported end barrel, the acurracy is no match for the M4/M16 variations or the SA80A2 variations. Plus we still have the british L96 with 7.62mm rounds (same mm as the AK47) and the M4 or M16 heavy versions that also carry 7.62mm rounds. And thats just the AR's and Snipers, we still have MPMG's, Barretts, LMG's, mortars with plenty of variations, the list goes on.
