What I love about this is that Bette Davis didn't seem to mind looking truly flaky, bitter, and twisted- in a really harsh and unappealing way. I can't imagine many actresses today really casting their egos aside and going for it-- everyone is so obsessed with looking young and surgically altered. This is so refreshing. She's just a master actress and I love her in this movie..

I read an interview with Bette Davis once in which she said not only did she do her own makeup for this movie, she would apply fresh makeup over old because she thought that was how Baby Jane would do it. She also found the wig in the old Warner Brothers wardrobe area - and it was an old one she had worn about 30 years before. It was moth-eaten and everything. Bette wanted to capture just how insane, gruesome, pathetic and, ultimately, sad Baby Jane Hudson really was. She succeeded! LOL!

hahahaah. Oh man was that so funny. Its the one scene that makes me roar with laughter. The way she walks away and gives that side glance and then waits for the reaction then finally breaking down with laughter when she gets it. That scene is pure gold.
