After using 14 different Internet Security's i can say that BIS 2010 is best what i've seen so far, and yeh, TopTenReview guys are right, BIS really conquer over other products, even kaspersky 2010/2011, and to thoes who are bitchin` about Bitdefender - go learn how to configure antivirus software!

I used BitDefender 2010 Total Security Before, and I wouldn't reccomend it. It's services are always offline. But a okay AV is Spyware Doctor with antivirus 2010 He reviewed an older version of it.

BITDEFENDER MALFUNCTIONING???

I have Bitdefender 2009 and I purchased the package for 2 years on 3 computers.

The first year was ok. It found no less than 30 pieces of malware a day. When the second year started now is not able to find almost anything...not even the couch in the living room. I am using Internet based programs to compare and BitDefender lags way behind in performance.

Thank god I was fast enough to remove this crap before it loaded everything and was ready to work, and froze again.

it will not do that unless u have a crappy cpu like a shitload of stuff downloaded small hd crappy processer and not enough ram i am a huge linux fan but also keep a laptop for on the go that has windows 7 and bitdefender 2010 total internet security and it is among one of the best antiviruses u can get since your having problems with it being slow id recomend u check out avira free edition if you want a very effective av thats free if paid wise id recomend avira premium or eset nod32

BitDefender is not a good type of Anti-Virus, it's not as "nubmer 1". It's OK, but recommend using either NOD32 Anti-Virus or Kaspersky Anti-Virus.

for free anti-virus i would go with either Avira, Avast, or AVG. Out of those 3 Avira has the highest detection rate, but comes with no spyware protection. Avast comes with both antivirus and antispyware like AVG. i would go with avira ans an anti spyware program like Superantispyware, malwarebytes, and/or  spybot. the more the merrier. just be careful what u install because some anti programs conflict.

kapersky is a damn good antivirus, i used the 2008 version..

the way i test these are to install the anti virus then just load up as much cd key websites out ther (their the easiest way to get a virus) kapersky kept them all off... whils norton on the other had detected it but failed to keep it out/delete it from my computer, had to use Hijackthiis to get rid of some norton let through

So I bought this for my new laptop once Mcafee had ran out and ever since I insalled it my hard drive has made a horrible croaking sound. This laptop is supposed to be silent all apart from the fan, however now that isn't so. Is this program extremely heavy on my harddrive, or am I having a hardware issue?
