Wow! We Portuguese pride in having a very difficult Language to be spoken by foreigners. Romans stole our Language, the Lusitanian-Galaico Language, but we picked up our Latin and combined it with the Old Language of the Celtic people of Portugal and Galiza and to speak it you need to be one of us. Your Portuguese has nothing of the Spanish or the English or even Brazilian. It is pure Portuguese of Portugal. Where did you learn such a Portuguese diction? Sounds great! Powerful!
Hi this is gorgeous! I LOVE Fado and would love to learn or take classes in Los Angeles. Can you refer me to any or know how i might be able to find more learning resources? Thank you :-)
This is one of my top Fado's songs ever. Nice job !
It's also good to know I'm not the only young Portuguesa listening to this music. I saw Mariza perform this song in Toronto's Massy Hall it was amazing.
Hi again from Spain! This fado has been for years one of my favourite songs. Last year I bought in Madrid a CD by Mariza (Fado em mim), and there it was, just her voice along with the drums! Amazing!
You've done a great job again! Singing fado is a tough task. The only small, tiny, even minimal objection I'd say is that sad fados -or at least some of them- are expected to be sung just a little bit slower, but in fact it depends on each one of us. Parabens pela cançao e cumprimentos de Ibéria!
@templedread Thank you :) Lots and lots of practice whenever I can. My parents are from Portugal but living in Canada it's very tricky to actually speak a language other than English. Even at home, if my parents speak to me in Portuguese, I'll immediately answer in English, so I need to force myself out of my comfort zone. Reading a lot and listening to music constantly helps too.
Wonderfull. :D
