  • D'on has tret això??

  • Mos people consider Catalan to be one of the ugliest spoken Iberian languages...that's not a lie...European Spanish isn't much better, Latin American Spanish like Latin American Portuguese sound much better...Catalan has a very thick castilian accent when it's spoken...it's pretty harsh, but it sounds ok here...

  • latin american spanish sound like they have a nasal problem. and brazilian portuguese.....I'm not even commenting on that. . . lol

  • Who this "most people" is? I've never heard that, apart from the fact that what you've said is kind of... silly. No offense XD XD

  • noway

latin american spanish is uglier than the european spanish

  • Catalan is a Spanish dialect spoken in the eastern regions of Spain. It is similar to Castellano, which most people speak, but there are some big differences. To me, it sounds like more of a Spanish French hybrid and doesn't use dipthongs.

It's a great language, I love it. It's fun to try to decipher it into Castellano.

  • thanx for the explanation :) i have seriously never heard of catalan before lol... (i'm not trying to offend anyone)

  • IT'S A LANGUAGE!

    NOT A DIALECT OF SPANISH!

It's spoken in catalonia, balears(mallorca, menorca, eivissa) valencia, southern france and l'alguer, in sardegna.

And it's so lovely compared with the rude spanish!

  • its a lenguage

    like spanish or french

    its not a dialect

  • yes more or less

  • @parchisfan Catalan is a minor language that will die, we only need to wait few years more and it will happen, because it's an ugly language and only marginal people use it, only for folk culture and assorted trivia.

  • @WiltatKansas you have no idea of what are you talking about...

  • catalan is not a "form of spanish", spanish language doesnt exist, u are refering to castillian, that was imposed all over spain, were other languages existed: catalan, galaico-portuguese, asturleones and many more.

Catalan and castillian evolved directly from latin, so one doesnt come from another, diferent languages!!!!!!

    bonica cançó, per cert

  • So its a different language that sounds like Spanish?

  • Comment removed

  • it doesnt sound like spanish at all!! im mexican and i can understand some words because i study languages and i speak italian, french an portugues...and just as you said they all are romantic languages and they came from greek and latin But català is not so much similar =)
