  • Whats the @ on the names for?

  • Arcanine looks better in the japanese version =)

  • I like the old arcinine sprite hear beter then the new one

  • does your pokemon go to level 50 even if there lv 35

  • Does anyone know if you can copy your pokemon from

your U.S. DS to the Japanese PBR?

  • these vids are E.P.I.C

  • Hey how did you make Japanes PBR work on your US wii console???

  • @ccharizardd77 Well, if you want to know the truth, I had a CD called "Wii Freeloader" that allows you to play import games on the Wii version 4.1 or lower, I believe. I'm not able to play it anymore, sadly, because the updated Wii version prevents Wii Freeloader from working on my Wii. In a way, though, I guess it was for the best because the Wii isn't supposed to support games from different regions anyway.

  • The Japanese announcer is REALLY enthusiastic! The english one sounds more realistic as a presenter, but the Japanese guy is really cool, even if he does sound like a fan rather than a presenter.

  • The Japanese narrator in this game sounds better than the American one.

  • 3653-1165-8964 add me!

  • Did you get the pass?

  • imagine dis game on Ps3

  • @chikeedoo it wouldn't make sense

  • What move did hitmontop use on dusknoir?

  • @DuncanW08

    foresight

  • that hitmontop was pretty impressive my friend :)

  • the english arcanine looks cooler!

  • I prefer the Japanese Announcer to the English Announcer despite not understanding a word of Japanese. He sounds more enthusiastic, and it's not as if the announcers ever say anything useful in the first place.

Arcanine, or "Windie" as the annoucer called him, did very well. I love seeing Arcanine putting those great stats to good use. It has 100 Base Special Attack, after all.

  • Oh man!i wanna a pokemon battle but i did not make a team yet!

  • I'm understanding Japanese, so maybe....depends on you. =)

  • Just realized that Foresight-top can run Return and CC for perfect coverage... speaking of which you should probably run mach punch over sucker punch. I'm honestly not very sure in the use of Fake Out on Hitmontop though (that was Fake out right?).

  • beautiful battle^^

  • That Arcanine looks really odd

  • are yooooou japanese ?

  • what item was Archanine Holding when he used SolarBeam?

  • Power Herb.

  • @GeassAlchemist power herb; 2 turn moves like razor wind and solarbeam turn into 1 turn moves, but only once

  • Your capoeira rocks !! I don't understand japanese so your 4 moves were Close combat, sucker punch, foresight ( maybe ) but what was the last ?

  • I love that I know pokemon so well I can tell what all of the moves are in japanese.

  • the guy sounds cool

  • u should stick with the japanese pbr battles :D

  • i think you should narrate yur battles... :/

  • Wow, I really don't like the grafics in this version. Arcanine look like an arcanine from Pokemon Stadium

  • lol 3:22 the pokeboll vanished XD

  • That's a few of the glitches that were fixed in between the versions. Lol.

    1. You deserved my subscription

    2. Is it just me, or does Arcanine look different?

  • @ninetalescommander yeah i also think it looks different and the withdrawing is also not like in the american version

  • The Japanese version it's faster, not only in connection but the test (which makes things boring because it's slow as hell in the american version) it's very fast, in few words Japanese version runs smoothly.

I say you stick to the japanese version if you don't mind the japanese text.

  • I don't mind the Japanese text at all. I guess I'll upload a Japanese PBR battle every so often. The majority, however, will be from the Amercian version.

  • Whoa valiant effort. you nearly had him with Hitmontop. And wow what a difference playing the Japanese version

  • Wow, I like the Japanese version of PBR. I'd like to see some more from you. And maybe you could put annonations on the moves, when you chose them. Just an idea.

  • I see you put that Roserade you were telling me about to the test! Nice one! :)

  • I am new to your videos and I think they are awesome but knowing myself I can't help but to tell you too.. like I did with much more PBR battlers that this kind of videos look better in wide screen..

here is the code to make them wide screen here on youtube: yt:stretch=16:9

put that on your tags and it will be Widescreen.

  • How did you " 'trick' " it?

  • I must say that the Japanese Version seems a lot brighter then the American one, from what i've seen from YT videos anyway since i dont have a Wii. The announcer is a lot more excited about announcing the moves.

  • Heh, I like this version of the game so much better. It's not really an issue for me, anyway, since I can read about 60% of the text.

    Good battle, and nice Roserade!

  • Why, thank you, Raichu. I can read a smidgen of the text. I use to attempt to teach myself Japanese. That was back then when I had more free time though.

  • Some catchphrases of the announcer in Japanese are much better than the English one. When a pokemon is KO'd by Draco Meteor in the Japanese version, it's just pure win. This is why I actually prefer the Japanese annuncer. Still the English one is decent, but he has less emotions when specific situations happened.

If someone ever heard the Germany's announcer, he just sucks.

I've never seen someone using Foresight in PBR. It was a good try. :)

  • @dreadcooler Oh yes you're so right. I'm from Germany and the announcer in this game...he's just an idiot. I really want to slap his face sometimes.

  • Weird arcacine is weird

  • old school RK9 looks way better

  • japanise announcer is awsome! i cant listen to english one he is so annoying...

  • Defintly a plus for using the Jap version! that old Arcanine model is so badass.

  • lol this is awesome, definitely do more jap pbr wifi battles.

its more interesting than the usually english style that we are all use to, plus it would be fun to see the old stadium pokemon models too.

it seems the japanese were kinda lazy about redoing the old pokemon models lol.

  • Glad the Gecko OS works! ^^ nice vid!

  • the announcer sounds much more epic!

  • The differences between our version and theirs is quite a bit (some models, item "icons", that awesome announcer), at least in retrospective..

I would rather play THIS version to be honest, I can read the names of the moves and slightly understand the announcer (he talks too fast for my brain haha). I can still play normally..

I would finally use my 'name' which would be "ハルナ" ... at least on that game.

4:12 was NOT Mind Reader (こころのめ), but rather Foresight (みやぶる).

  • thanks ^^

  • Comment removed

  • i like the japanese announcer better

  • Was Close Combat super effective after foresight (that's what it was, right?) or was that a critical hit?

  • Nope, it was just a critical-hit. It came at a great time, however.

  • More japanese please.

  • It's easy to notice some of the "flaws" of the Japanese version of the game. Most noticeably the old sprites still in the game from Pokemon Stadium; If you stop the video at 2:46 you'll see another little glitch; and the considerable lag in-between the move selection screens, compared to the US version. However, it's only really noticeable when you fight the Japanese. Nevertheless, I'd prefer the Jap. Version =P

  • Why does Arcanine look different in the Japanese Version.

  • Old Stadium models are used

Before our version release Arcanine/Dragonite/ETC were redone and given newer models.

  • Nice Hitmontop and Japanese text.

    :3

  • I used to love Japanese only PBR matches. But the people who used to post them stopped posting them. It brings back good memories to see it agian.

  • whoah! what was the move you used at 4:12!!!! ive never seen that before! O.o was it detect??? coz the oponent missed....anyway....the japanes version kinda freaked me out...i couldnt tell what was happeneing very well....but it was kinda fun guessing :D good battle....to bad you lost but that arcanine did have a very odd moveset...ooh and one more thing....by "trick" did you mean bribe???lol jk

  • Mind Reader.

  • Wrong, if mind reader was able to hit ghosts after use then people wouldn't bother with foresight.

  • Ohh my your right, I made a small mistake with those moves. lol thanks for the correction.

  • no problem =]

  • I like this better than the english PBR :D

  • WOOW!

    Japanese Version

I life in japan one time! =)

    and

I have games of Version Japanese

    nice battle

    bad luck

    with arcanine

why your friend speak of arcanine

    stupid arcanine!

  • Arcanine looks so out of place. 0_0

  • man...

    America got jipped

  • I think I like this even more!

  • The narrator went sick when dusknoir's attack failed. Nice to hear some real enthusiasm there.

  • Also when roserade boosted its attack.

  • Looks cool in Japan PBR.=)

  • Ah yes, I love how they kept the old Stadium Arcanine sprite, although I can't say the same for Zapdos and Articuno because, eh, their Stadium sprites don't go well with PBR itself.

  • I think uploads of the Japanese version of PBR every once in a while would be pretty cool.

I never knew that the Japanese version of PBR has different character models than the US version. Arcanine looks a bit like it did in Stadium.

  • Oh. Looks like someone mentioned this already. lol

  • i love the announcer in the japanese version he sounds so cool. You should do battles on this version more often!

  • Heh, well I'll think about it. Maybe every now and then I'll toss one of these in the mix. Glad you liked it.

  • I just thought I'd upload one video about this. I just discovered how I can use the Japanese copy of PBR on my Wii, so I just wanted to upload one video of it. This is NOT going to be a regular thing. If no one likes it, I'll delete the video.

  • no offense, but the Japanese announcer sounds funny! 5 stars for funny announcer!

  • This was the voice I was used to before I purchased the American version of Pokémon Battle Revolution, so I've always liked it.

  • So that Arcanine sprite is unchanged from the stadium games in japan pbr?

  • It would appear so. There's many more differences between these two versions than I expected, such as Pokémon sprites, hidden hold items, and overall connection speed.

  • Thats true.

  • That's not a sprite yo. It's a model. Sprites are 2D images.

  • Right. A model. Thanks for correcting me. :)
