i was one of those homeless kids at christmas and it used to really make me cry when i saw all the toys in the windows of the stores and i knew santa didnt bring homeless kids toys......
@MsSilenthorse another song to add to that ever growing list of songs that makes me cry... it is bad enough when the song it self makes you weep but after you watch a video connect to some - every time you hear the song you see that video in your head - makes my eyes swell up all the more easily..... I've always wondered how the singers to a song that makes us all get teary eyed can sing it without getting so themselves and yet put so much passion in to it that it has that effect on us...
It's amazing how we see so few commercials about the homeless kids these days. I know last year alone I counted several families I saw sleeping in bus stops, under the railroad underpasses, and such. I don't know how many times I've seen people just walk right by, not thinking much about them. It's hard for me to even think about it as my wife and I were in that position for a few months in the past.
Now when I see that, I stop off at the local McDonald's or whats available and grab some hot coffee for the parents, some warm cocoa for the kids, and something warm to eat.
my friend sang this song for a Christmas concert last week... i could tell that everybody who heard the song was touched in their heart.... i almost started crying. he has such a beautiful voice, and he sang the song perfectly... when he was done everybody cheered for him... not only because he was good, because he had the courage to stand in front of a crowd and sing a song like this... everybody else was singing Christmas "jingles", but he was singing a song with a very strong meaning. <3 :')
This song means more to me than anyone could imagine the first time i ever saw the video i was in labor and at the hospital they told me to calm down and focus on the tv and this video happened to be on and just as toby says santa im right here my son was born on December 24 1995 thanks toby its a wonderful song
this song hits home for me cause some of my best friends are homeless and have their parents have no money to get them anything and i always do the best i can to help i give them my old jackets and toys i love them very much and people need to help the homeless more then just walk by and think badly of them most of the time its not their fault they are that way

He and his sister and Mum were living with me and my 2 kids because they lost their home and when we visited Santa he walked up and asked him for a house for his Mum that they could keep forever. He didnt want anything else. Even Santa teared up at that request.
right now this song is hitting the mark kids need hope toby needs to bring back this song we all need to help more there are to many kids going with out .
@ixtoothint Agreed! I may be a total Eddie Van Halen fan, but I also listen to a lot of country ( go figure..?)..heck..to me good music ..is good music,regardless of genre. I love Toby, have for awhile. His album "Shockin y'all" sold the farm for me... loved it...still do!! His tunes are so much fun to play on guitar too ..!! Great Stuff!! :)
this year take and help some one that u know is in truble and show them that you care. it might just be a cup of coffee or some thing just show them and help when you know u dnot have to but do it out of a big hart and you will be given by the good lord him self.
