When your VP of the United States is the former CEO of Halliburton(the second largest oilfield services corporation in the world) you know your country is fucked.
Cant just USA invade more countries and start World war?? SO they can die? I mean... LET FILTHY jews, muslims and christians fight as much as they wont..and die.. so the rest of us can live in peace..
The rich thrive. The government plays a role in maintaining this, but we use it as a scapegoat. The wealthy promote this. The heads of corporations are no more sympathetic towards the average human than a politician. They make sure you are willing to return to their business, nothing more. Capitalism much promote this, it must promote profit over service. Disproportionate wealth follows, for whatever reason you have come to accept.
Democracy or Republic?? How many of you can even explain the difference?? This country is neither. It is a capitalist system with only the rich dictating the course. How many of you would spend 8 million or so dollars to obtain a job that pays 250 thousand a year when you already have more than 50 times that amount? Belief? Nope...fame
the technical term, as i understand it, for our system of government is 'polyarchy' which is basically as you described it. and that's what madison had envisioned and set forth to create, every leader has known this. and overall they've been fairly successful although there have been a lot of wins for the public and civil rights, worker's rights, womens rights, etc.
but it's still a broken system that is very fragile. and it's only held together by the HUGE efforts to control popular opinions.
Well, he does have good points to make, and he asserts himself against the bush administration, and he tells it like it is... However, his focus on illegal immigration has gotten to be quite pathetic and annoying.
Thanks~!The definition of fascism as I remember from University = "A system of government where individual rights are sacrificed for the greater good of society, in favor of corporatism and government (bureaucracy)." Americans are like passengers on Titanic who had no control, when Bruce Ismay lobbied the captain to steam full speed ahead, against the passengers' best interests, & in spite of the Iceberg warning. Bruce Ismay survived but thousands of innocent people perished. XoX
because most americans think democracy is when u can walk naked in the street or curse out the president in public....but more are waking up thanks 2 ppl like tofan and websites like youtube
The new people joining the net constantly needs only a little time to get to here where we are. But unless you put a stop to Internet 2 we will loose Youtube and have the worst questionair search engins complete with biometric log ons by 2012.
Trust me, I work in the industry - and people are scared shitless of this. A lot more than YouTube will be gone... virtually every search engine will go under as well - and that includes Google.
Don't like Windows? Great! The end of Net Neutrality will virtually guarantee that you'll be using something completely foreign as an OS. MS would lose at least 60% of it's product line if it ever happens.
Oh I trust you djjmi. And i can belive everything your saying the more i get into this Internet 2. I can remeber I C Q when it had isp identifiers a great personal profile search and free ww text messageing. Im still holding onto the 2003 beta i wish i never upgraded beyond 1999 after that for some unknow given explanation it went to crap. TimeWarner bought it, And each newer or beta version was less then the years before. When they introduced it i could send gig sized files, NOw unless the othe
r user has a similar model series software, you cant send shit. And it got worse when they envoked this patriot act. I C Q like MIRC was totaly international with millions of users at one time. Now its a version of free paltalk with highly limited bells and toys. Remeber Powow djjimi? Check out tribal son. cant find that as well anymore. All that was free with great applications is a pay option and considering i never used the MSN Messenger or Yahoos free venues. The net keeps disapearing.
That is exactly right.I came to the USA 10 years ago, I am originally from Europe.I never experienced the USA as being a democracy. Pretty much everything is done for the people in power, unlike Holland were everything is done for the people. It is always a culture shock when I go back.
So to me it is often kinda funny when people tell me about their "free country" Yea right, you are free to die on the street. But they may take that right away as well in the near future. Dogs have a better life
When the Pledge of Allegiance was written the USA was a republic. Now it's the insurance, corporate, soft-fascist, military, industrial complex. The upper %1 controls %90 of the wealth. We are the livestock, living on a grid that they control. We still have incomes for the same reason farmers feed their livestock, if they didn't the farmers would start to suffer too. If you squeeze the general population too much the elites won't make as much money either.
Not really. Bush is clinical imbecile, but you'll have to take a 80+ year leap back in history to discover where it all really went wrong. If you're OK with superficial "normalcy" then you're right - it was OK 10 years ago, but the truth is - it wasn't. Not 10 years ago, not 20. And it will only get worse with each passing decade.
Don't say that. To say "won" implies defeat and so far theres been noting to defeat because Americans for so long have just been rolling over and giving in to whatever the government does but now people seemingly awaken on a mass level and are looking at real issues and real solutions. Sorry, I don't mean to tell you what to say but the last thing Americans need to be hearing is a defeatist attitude, what I tell them is that the battle is just beginning and that with truth will come freedom.
The Bush administration has been doing this shit ever since they took power in 2000. What's incredible is that the American public returned them to the white house!
This ALONE should be grounds for impeaching this whole administration.
Putting the head of the lobbying organization that protects manufacturers from consumers in charge of this agency is like assigning a shark to give your toddler swimming lessons!
CPSC is the "Consumer Products Safety Commission" (CPSC) It is like Bush appointing a wolf to guard the chicken house. And of course we and our children are the chickens.
They did it with the epa , the did it with bolton , well I could easily do the 500 limit but you get the point the appoint the wrong person everywhere and they don't have to explain that is just this admins way . keep voting stupid America you get what you deserve he bought in oil and electric lobbyist to make energy policy !!!!!!!!!!

I'ts a shame that Obama doesnt have 99% of the media on his side like Bush had..
- If that had happened for Bush .. well .. let's just say that he wouldn't have been elected as president once again in 2004.

Is it any more outrageous than Obama putting a tax cheat in charge of the IRS & several other tax cheats in high offices?
How about having several felons as "czars"? How about having a openly devout communist in charge of "Diversity"?? LOL!
Yep, you just can't make this shit up!

I would appreciate anything you could give me to substantiate that Madison intended for us to have a polyarchy.
Specifically any thing he might have said to imply this.
Thanks

Well, MOST people didn't like Hitler either.
I told all you guys what was going to happen and NOT to let Cheney back into the whitehouse in 1999. He's a fascist.
Now America has gone fascist. That's VERY bad.
We have now made HUGE (FAR bigger than anyone knows...yet.) problems for ourselves.
Remember what happened to Germany before, during and after WW II. Yep! THIS will be FAR worse. You'll see.
