  • Alot of people don't give them credit, but Blue and Dennis could really dance too. Otis, I hate to say was a little stiff, and I've noticed on other videos, would be messing up. But he was/is the glue to the harmony.

  • Simply AMAZING!

  • As a teenage boy,my friends would always look at the temps as trend setters, being it style, fashion,or song. They were THE GROUP other groups looked at to messure-up to.They could step, dress, and most definitly....SING!! If you look at the album cover of Gettin Ready,Those suits were on the rack the next week.so for those of you who weren't around at the time, the suits on stage were just that...STAGE OUTFITS...and they looked good too!!!!

  • screw dancing with the stars, this is dancing with the Temps!

  • Ahh great to see they were still kicking it in the 70's.

  • This is not the Midnight Special. The stage is to small and there is no band or the Midnight Special logo in the background.

  • That's not the Midnight special Whatiship73 and Sorry to tell you that.

Anyway, Been a Tempts fan since 1970 and I remember this performance well. In fact, one of my uncles was on the legal team of the management company that rep'd the Temps and he and Dennis were tight. All you can say is WOW and who can touch THIS? NOBODY then and NOBODY now!

  • @Bassplayershadow2023 This is Midnight Special! I have the entire episode. Sorry to tell you that...

  • When the tempts did away with the four headed mike this was the results. They were more free to move . The steps on Glasshouse word cannot describe. Back in the 70s we would just say Badddddddddddddddddddddddd. Wow some 70,000 views Wow.

  • The choreography on Glass House is dynamic. It does not get any better than the Tempts.

  • The choreography on Glass House is dynamic. It does not get any better than the Tempts.

  • They are getting DOWN!!!

  • i taught my 13 year old that its the temptations that all these modern boy bands mimic!

  • This is the first group to incorporate elaborate dance routines in their performances and boy do they pull it off...perfectly!

  • U CAN BE WHATCHA WONTA BE ON CLOUD NINE

  • OK...I just watched this like five times straight before commenting. The guys were JAMMIN. ... All of them grooved...BUT I can't help but keep my eyes on Melvin...he was KILLIN IT!!! Gon' Melvin!

  • An incredible tune!! The Temps rock!!!

  • those challenging routine definitely

  • Replayed this video about thirty times. I wish I was around to actually see this performance live. Melvin and Richard were gettin' it! And Otis and Dennis *fans self* wheeew!

  • This Temps lineup could really step!

  • LMA0 THEY WAS GETTN iT! HAD THEM DANCE M0VES DWN L0L

  • iˇm from czec republik and don´t gay. @wblk

  • "a song for you" was great, but "wings of love" was better.

  • These dudes are so freakin' sexy and gettin' down! Lovely!

  • okay, im only 14, but you have NO taste!!! That was the best clothing. i can tell ur not from the 70's....

  • It think it's funny how the opening sequence shows close-ups of all the Tempts EXCEPT Eddie and David.

  • man melvin know he be getting down!

  • This is the jam.

  • Man o man this is great! Killer choreography too! Tell me, is 'Glasshouse" on the same album as Firefly and Memories? Also, around that time wasn't there a song called, "I'm a batchelor"? My memory is kinda fuzzy but these old vids brings me back.

  • Yeah, Your right. They're all on the album, "A Song For You". Side one is funky (Standing On Shakey Ground) and side two is slow jams.

IMHO, The last great Temptations LP.

  • the core lineup of the tempts from 1971 to 1992 was Otis, Richard and Melvin the tenors were good Damon, glenn, and Tyson, The front men Louis Price Dennis and Woodson are very good singers, Price came in a down time for this great group only in the group 2yrs, the boy is good check him out on youtube, also check out G.C.Cameron great voice and range, this group has had some outstanding singers! We should enjoy them instead of taking cheap shots if your name is not eddie, or David

  • The action doesn't begin until 1:29. I love the way they look and dance.

  • Glen Leonard replaed Eddie Kendricks. He is/was (?) the husband of Darcel Wynne, lead and principle choreographer for the Solid Gold Dancers.

  • Yowser! That is quite the number! Great costumes. Electrifying!

  • OMG! They are The Bomb!

  • So many talented singers transited the group,

quite unique that way. And all the difference customs over the years should have some kind of

    museum.

  • the first one is cloud nine

  • what's the name of first sound?

  • Its a medley of songs, starting with Cloud Nine, My Girl, Get Ready, and ends with the Papa Was A Rollin' Stone ending.

  • It was their Overture at the time, 72/3 till bout 77. Was opening of all there live shows then. One of first live gigs I ever saw Also saw the Supremes and Three Degrees at the Fiesta Nightclub in Sheffield, round 1973.Brillanat Shows all of em.

  • Changes in the lineup or not, yesterday, today, or tomorrow, there will never, ever be anyone greater than the Temps!!!!!!!

  • i love the intro

  • as always they dfance good

  • if anyone hasn't seen the Tempts perform, they ain't seen NOTHING ! We'll never see great stuff like this agian.

  • love the choreography here, so interesting to see, i've loved this song forever

  • WOW!! the steps are something to watch. Tall, dark, lean and sexy. They don't miss a beat. Now this is entertainment, and they probably practice till they reached perfection. take note- young groups.

  • They have the moves, espically Melvin and Paul of course when he was with them.

  • Kudos to Paul Williams for bringing the spank in their performances;to Eddie Kendricks for the flashy but vibey outfits!

There is none other than the Temps! BRAVO!

  • I agree...p.s whats kudos mean?I ain't from the U.S.

  • To answer your question; kudos is often used to give credit and recognizing someone of their unique talent with praise, as a result, in this case, the group profit beyond their wildest dreams.

    I hope this was helpful.

This is why I like Utube, the sharing, kudos to the staff of Utube, and it allows all of us to grow!

  • Totally agree! Thank you :)

  • Wow, been looking for this one for a long time. Do you have the following from this album:

    Prophet

    Memories

  • Wow! Tough choreography--almost makes me dizzy to watch it! I always liked this song, so this clip was great to watch. Thanks for posting this. Can somebody make me a DVD set of all these great videos???

  • very interesting mike placement. they have microphones wedged tightly in their shirts.

  • they've done that alot of times

  • maybe I just never noticed that before. I guess they coudn't use stands because of the coreography.

  • Lon Fontaine took over the choreography of the Temptations during this period. As you can see, it is a bold departure from the "classic" Tempts choreography from the 60's; and clearly the reason you hear very few songs from this era in any of their shows these days.

  • In their show currently they do Papa, Cloud Nine, Shack, and Runaway Child.

  • Thanks, I did see there was sonething different about their moves. I like it. Lots of energy, when I hear this song on my Ipod I actually visualize..Good to know!

  • In my opinion, not one of their best songs. However, I've watched this video more times than I care to count; just to check out the dance moves. So now I'm diggin the song as a result. It's all about association my friends

  • This is so exciting!!!

  • Please post more new Temptations videos that's not on Youtube yet and the 1970's era.
