@SirBender: @SirBender : What a condescending remark. The EZ I.O. site doesn't specifically stipulate pt. positioning in conjunction with application, or so it seems. Besides, what about application during prolonged vehicle extrication? Does this mean EZ I.O.'s use in this situation is contraindicated? Absurd. Search out the vid. that shows a representative of the company receiving one in her proximal humerus, strangely enough, while seated. Signed, A Typical INFORMED American.
omg good thing the girl have common sense not to twist and pull like the fucker said. good job. u suppose to twist it and feel it come off the bone first before pulling... not just twist and pull like the other fucker said....
just don't look. thats the only advice i can really give. I can't watch the needle enter my skin but once it is in it no longer matters. what helped me was having to take IVs going through paramedic classes.
@MsGymnast77 listen its not true you shouldnt look!!!!!!!! I was afraid of needles and fainting almost each time as i had to give blood - and what I did was a psychotherapy and nothing else! its a very simple terapy (I just needed to come 5 times or so and work hard at home) and basically what you do in the terapy is GETTING USED! yes! My therapist gave me a needle home and I should imagine blood tests etc., youtube etc. and now, i go to blood test and nothing happens, its just fun!:) good luck!
god DAMN! i would never, EVER volunteer for that! i saw "IO" in the title and cringed before i even clicked it! i can't believe it didn't hurt more.. 2-3? drilling into bone, i would expect 6-8!
well the part that would have hurt that bad would have been either the power flush that is done after asperation or the lido flush. neither happened so no scream.
Looks like fun. I'm an EMT and it's too bad we cant do IO.

rossmarc 2 years ago
mistake number one NEVER USE EZ-IO while the knee is inflected!
mistake number two: never use EZ-IO while patient sits on a chair!
bad medicine! typical american.... sry but matter of act
SirBender 2 years ago
@SirBender What does " Inflected " mean?
second: should the patient lie down in supine position?
This is a genuine quiestion.

Why would one power flush?
(serius que stion asked by a foreign EMT )
thecrowcsplayer 2 years ago
The power flush helps create a void in the marrow to let fluids flow easier
dfdlock 2 years ago
cheers for that. We have the BIG used most commonly as an intraossary device, and we are warned to apply medicines to quickly to avoid pain.
