^^There were people up until recently that had parents that were slaves. Black people didn't get full citizenship until 100 years after the civil war. Seem more like White people dragged "this slavery thing" out way too long.
People involved in the slave trade Whites, Arabs, Blacks, and Berbers. Not just Black people, and many of the slaves were stolen.
