  • Dog is racist

  • I don't hate he's got his own problems he not fooling me with the TV show fake ads cracker

  • Talib Kweli first put me on to this song when I first met him at Nkiru Books (Nkiru Center), he told me it was one of his favorite songs, and since I heard it, it's been one of my favorites too. It addresses a complex issue in a very creative, sophisticated, and easy to understand way. This record is a credit to the unique power of Hip-Hop culture - shout to @bobbitogarcia for always bringin out the best of Hip-Hop Culture, shout to Juggaknots, Queen Heroine, and DJ Boo - KUDOS to @wisegas

  • I hate humanity

  • fuk u

  • That joint has always been one of the illest song ever made. Word Real! FANGGGG!

  • people are people....good hiphop here btw..

  • Racism occurs in all shades of the spectrum. I'm caucasian and I was in a 3 yr relationship with an african-american man. He & I used to get the stink eye & comments from ignorant folks in his race and my own. People of all races need to be retrained in how to accept other people's differences and other people's choices. Humans are more than flesh. The flesh houses the deeper element of the person: their spirit. In essence, we are all spirit beings with different color houses.

  • I hear you, we are all related' different skin but as one under the sun! yeah I grew up listening to the best damn music that came outta oppression man' the blues, but music aint' gonna heal everything unless we allow it too! Music is the key to the message lets make the message a good one, Peace' yawl!

  • 1 RACE THE HUMAN RACE RIGHT

  • damn this song is the shit and lmao aliens hell yeah they will come out of the woodwork soon naive ass people ignoring the facts lol

  • damn this song is the shit and lmao aliens hell yeah they will come out of the woodwork soon naive ass people ignoring the facts lol

  • Funny we can't get along on earth what do think is going to happen when aliens reveal themselves to us and I mean from other planets. Heck some already here walking around I don't mean people born on this planet. I mean from outerspace.

  • talk about an automatic favorite right here

funny how i just started listening to juggaknots a few months back and that shit with dog happens. i can't say that i have any sympathy for him though

you know, this is exactly the type of situation a friend of mine was in back in school, his parents didn't want him dating a black chick, they said it was because of what his grandfather would think.

so yeah, this song is very affecting indeed, too bad the remix isn't as good

  • Unfortunately, the fact is that we won't get along, as great as that dream is. There will always be some who recognize their place as human beings and do their best to get along with others. There are others, who, for whatever reasons, simply don't see life in that way. Hopefully some of these people, like the "bounty hunter", will change and have more peace in their lives and will stop causing disharmony.

  • see I respect those words cuz like I always try to love everybody but still kids in my school are asses, everything always has to be about race

  • I wished everyone would just get along, I love this song, It's a beautiful song and at the same time it sends an important message, WE ALL NEED TO JUST GET ALONG!! I'm white and I have a black girlfriend and everyone thinks it's odd yet theres kids of all color in my school and they all get along so I don't get it but racism needs to be put to an end, we're all the same people, we've been on this earth for thousands of years amd we still don't know how to forget race,

  • controversial and comical together. i love this song. and the album is classic.

  • One of the dopest concepts for a song in hiphop history...this song is a CLASSIC. I remember hearing it on WKCR back when it came out ...and immediately picked up the 12" vinyl. Back when HipHop songs actually had CONCEPTS!!! Peace to Brewin ...

    Dope Video.

  • i heard this song for the first time some time around 2000. my best friend showed it to me. the copy he had sounded grainy and we had never heard of juggaknots, nor had anyone we knew. we assumed it was underground. but the first time i heard that song i was so blown away by the lryics, i didnt even notice any of that. it was magic to listen too. i dont know who to thank for the song, but kudos to them... this song still amazes me to this day.

    peace be with you

  • Watched it five times in a row, before even writing the comment. The images play along well with the song. You guys did ya thing with that footage!!! Much love to yall..

    BARON...Red Clay all day!!!

  • wiseguy, gaston, breeze, and b slim-

amazing. i loved this song as a demo, played it on 89.9 with pride, and felt super fortunate to share it with the world when i released it on my label back in '96. amazing job with the video. 13 years later the lyrics still give me goose bumps as they upon first listen. true hip hop classic. word.

    bobbito aka kool bob love

  • WiseGuy and Gaston showing the love back Bob. We especially wanted you to see it. WE first heard it when you played it as a demo on the Stretch Armstrong show and got to own it when you later released it on Fondle 'Em. In essence, without you this video wouldn't have been made and perhaps this song wouldn't have been so dear to so many. We're just proud to also be able to share this hip hop classic with the world. Thanks to Bobbito and the Juggaknots!

  • feelin the video fellaz.. and the beat is so smooth.. luvin it..

  • very well done friends.

  • REally nice presentation of images! Props

  • Peace. This is WiseGuy and Gaston. We appreciate all the love this video's received. Thanks to the Juggaknots for such an incredible song. It was a labor of love putting this video together. Feel free to share this video with everyone you know. We believe it is worth being seen by the masses. (BTW, We also did their Namesake video.)

  • Nice work brother! thats alot of work! Good way to address the issue!

    peace,

    baba

  • you did your thang Guy! the images went well with the lyrics..

  • I believe some are wondering why white people are criticized more than black people for racism. The few white people being blamed for racism seems to be causing pain, but I feel pain every time I hear racism on the radio, tv, and print, and that's pretty much every day. A judge told "Dog" he could be a bounty hunter instead of paying bail. How many black men get that option?

  • It's always these 'holier than thou' types who seem to have serious problems. People who like this clip be sure and check out 'Clear Blue Skies' the re-issue album and the subsequent album 'Use Your Confusion' both by 'The Juggaknots'. Sick video! Best thing about the lyrics are that they deal with how the contagion of racism can be passed from generation to generation. Deep. New commandment.......

'Honour thy parents - unless they want you to be racist'.

  • Guy, Thanks for hipping me to this video. Unfortunately, the venom of racism is still potent today.

  • i am black man and I can say for sure racism is very alive in both the black and white community...the difference is the access to civilian resources and citizens rights have not been the same in terms of the white & black community and also the treatment by the justice system towards the two segments of our country has been unequal. Also black culture has always been treated with disdain in a very subtle, thorough and significant manner.

  • The promblem is we still live in a racist society thats sadly not going change in our generation.

  • my neyba Josh put me on to this song back in 96 and I was totally taken back and listened to it over and over. Definitely a hip hop classic. Glad we are bringing back the jewels. Much love Wiseguy for putting me on to the video. Peace

  • I hope people really understand the constant racial undercurrent in the USA!!! most people are what they appear 2b... Thanx 4 the upload!!!! nowroll237

  • I have a question.

I am a white woman. I was in a relationship with a black man for 5 years. Though I did hear comments from white people for it, the hardest was the comments, looks and so forth that I got from black ADULTS! It only got worse when I became pregnant.

  • Usually it depends on how someone is raised. Basically it is the individuals choice to behave this way. Sorry you were not embraced the proper way. Try not to let these events persuade you that there could not be peace in those situations. Each of those people were bad, I just hope your far away from them now.

  • There may have been other things related to you becoming pregnant. Pregnancy sometimes can make you more tuned in to your feelings and challenges. My mom was in a relationship with a black man for much more than 5 years. Thanks to that, I was born. Focus on the life you want for yourself, not what you think other people want. You don't know if they're jealous, ignorant, or constipated when they grill you. All you know is what's true and right for you.

  • Right, my point is that I don't understand why the focus is do much on the white people that are racist (that will always be) as there will always be black folks that are racist. As long as there are other colors, nationalities, religions, moral...so forth..there will always be discrimination.

  • But it is the fighting that happens after a word or action that causes riots and tears the communities even further apart.

We can't do anything to change the way that people feel. But we CAN can our own actions.....

  • Well, thats because it's often stated in the media. Unfortunately, most of the cases involving racism in this modern time mainly had to deal with celebreties, and they're in the media, so they're going to focus more on them obviously. I say don't feel so bent up about it, as long as you, yourself know that you're a good person.

  • I believe people are exposed to racism as a child. Parents are responsible for teaching right and wrong. No matter where the child grows up, a person learned the racism. Ultimately the person decides their choice. The choice of Hate or Love lies within the thoughts of all our fellow human beings.

Ultimately the person decides their choice. The choice of Hate or Love lies within the thoughts of all our fellow human beings.

  • I was called so many names it was sad this was only 5 years ago...I don't understand why when a white person embraces the black community they are torn apart so much get called names get told that we are wiggers trying to be like black people well I am sure everyone knows...and when white people don't embrace black people they also get called out.

    My question is simple.

  • The generalities that you're stating show exactly how dumb racism is. I feel for what you're going through, just don't start believing that "when white people" do or don't do something it changes racists. Racists will hate you whether you embrace a brother or not, ultimately they really hate a part of their self, not you. Do don't base decisions of who to embrace on what they do.

  • What do you want from white people. Is it eggshells that we are supposed to walk on forever for what happend 500 years ago. Tell me please I don't understand.

I grew up loving all races, but always felt more comforatable with my black friends it wasn't the people my age, it was the adults that were old enough to know better!

  • What does who want from white people? Are you talking to the Juggaknots? Apparently this song is about a realistic scenario that is actually the same situation which led dog the bounty hunter to be in the news. Apparently they want all people to be aware of how racism can divide your own family.

  • Definitely a good look. I loved this record when I got it back in the days. The opening track was a sick coltrane sample if I recall correctly.

  • All you had to do was ask me and my wife to be in the video. We would've done it, man!!!

We would've set that MF straight!

    DOME

  • Aside from Dog's predicament, this piece is one of the truest expressions of what Hip Hop is and always will be. When racism's in the news, fingers are pointed at Hip Hop. But Hip Hop has been artfully breaking down racism like this for years.

Since Kweli told me about this record 10 years ago, it's been a favorite. I joined Youtube to comment on this and I'm telling everyone I know. Next time they want to point a finger at Hip Hop, help them point a finger at this!

  • dope. thanks for putting this together.

  • I remember when you recited a portion of this at the NuyoRican Poets Cafe. Its great to see the well thought out visuals that correspond specifically with the content rich word play. Keep it coming brother.

  • I've always been in love with this track since I first heard it, and I just moved to the south from Chicago and to see how things haven't changed is a shock and it's sad

  • This is excellent and very timely. Wisdom never loses its relevance and truth stands the test of time. Keep shining the light in those dark places.peace
