This song works cause of the simplistic, unadorned singing style. Pure, direct, honest emotions. That`s why i like the original much better than the Mary J Blidge version, she just kills the fragile melody with her overpowered techniques (which work much better in R&B music). You however let the melody stand out in it`s simple beauty, i think that`s definitely the right approach. Even though your style is different from Bono's in many ways, your version has the same intense impact, imho.
